1) Everett I actually had this pick in my mock .. trade down and pick Everett. So I was not surprised. Everett is a round 1 TE that slid due to crazy talent at the position this year. He plays angry and moves really well. He’s not exactly Jordan Reed because Reed is an angry blocker too, but as far as the passing game, he’s faster than Reed and the same size. I think he’ll be playing early, but may not become a weapon till late in the year.
2) Kupp I didn’t think we’d go WR here, but again we’re getting what looked to me to be a first round talent (especially with his mindset) in the third. The kid has an aggressive mentality and plays with a chip on his shoulders. I’d be stunned if he wasn’t starting day 1.
3) Johnson This is actually my highest value pick. He doesn’t jump off the list, and he’s not even expected to do anything this year … but you have a Free Safety with the skillset of a CB and the size of a box safety. And he’s smart. This gives us options this year and next year at the safety position.
4) Reynolds This is a second rounder in the 4th. He stretches the field, has swagger, and makes contested catches. In most of my mocks I had us taking him here … but I didn’t take Kupp earlier because I figured we’d only draft 1 WR. I would be shocked if these guys we picked weren’t our starters 2 years from now.
4) Ebukam I had no idea who this guy was … my guess is he’s the next in line pass rushing specialist. we were looking at Kupp, and likely got a good glance at Ebukam as a result. Snead knows value, so he likely targeted him early in the process and just had to figure out where he’d be available.
6) Smart This is a feisty player with great speed of the snap and a LOT of playing time … I had him ranked with a 3-4 round grade … very valuable depth.
6) Rogers This kid is the kind of teammate and player you want to have somewhere in your locker room. My guess is that he supplants Harkey … though we may keep both.
7) Price Again, I had him ranked in the 1st round until he measured in under 6 feet tall. I couldn’t keep him that high. But I didn’t drop him too far … and as value in the 7th this is a great pick. He plays angry and has an innate pass rushing knack for setting up linemen and then attacking their weakest point.
UDFAs
Eldrenkamp I watched him and liked him, though he wasn’t the best player on that line. I never saw him take snaps at center so Im at a loss there.
Justin Davis I figured someone would sneak up and draft him after he ran a 4.48 at 210 pounds … I like him to be our 4th and beat out Aaron Green … and he could be a kick returner too IMO.
Omarius Bryant Big kid with a huge wingspan … I had him as draftable. I like him as a big end or a Nose … maybe easley’s loss gets him on the roster, if not a PS guy I’d think.
Tillery Never saw him, liked what I read. Practice squad player I’d think.
Penton Again, surprised he didn’t get drafted. Good feet and plays angry. Mizzou DBs don’t get drafted high for whatever reason. I like him to beat out any slacking CB … Im looking at you, Troy Hill.
Mundt High end high school recruit that got a little lost in the shuffle on Oregon’s roster. Smooth athlete. PS guy or cut given our needs and depth, but I like that he’s giving it a shot.
Sayles High effort player … though I personally don’t think he has what it takes for the next level.
Kozan I have had my eye on this kid for years. Smooth and Steady, pulls nicely in a complex running system at Auburn. I give 4 years starters a lot of extra props, so I had him around the 4th round.
Shakeir Ryan No idea … if he can spend a year on the PS and make tavon expendable I’m all for it.
Demard llorens Who?
AJ Jefferson Ive watched this kid for years, I have a thing for Mississippi state … I wanted him to be a 5 tech, and it looks like that’s where he’s headed. He plays angry. I don’t know if he makes the final 53 … but I’m glad we have him.
Orimolade … watched his film, kid moves realllllllly well. hopefully we can find a way to stash and develop him .. maybe he gets a hangnail and we IR him.
That’s about what I got.
Couple notes on older players … I still think Michael Jordan and Nelson Spruce are not only going to make the team, but be major parts of our team going forward. Malcolm Brown too.

i agree with almost everything except he doesn’t have the size of a box safety. not even close. but i think it’s worth keeping an eye on him with joyner’s contract coming up.
besides him kupp, rogers, and ebukam are the guys i see making an impact. maybe not immediately but in the near future.
