mcvay putting the oline in a position to succeed: screens, jets, misdirection, fake pitches, play-action from under center, bootlegs, etc…. what a concept, what a breath of fresh air.

All things considered, 3-3 at the bye isn’t the worst thing. NFCW is right there. Gotta think at least Brian Allen, Van Jefferson, and Troy Hill are back right after the bye week. Then Coleman Shelton, Kyren Williams, and Jordan Fuller to follow. OBJ? We’ll see.

#Rams defense the last 4 weeks: Panthers – 3pts Cowboys – 16pts 49ers – 17pts Cardinals – 12pts This defense is great man. They will be 3-3 but probably should be 5-1. Keep this up out of the bye get healthier and put the offense on that same level.

Great stuff from Allen Robinson today. Flashed his jumpball skills twice today, and then on a play following a great catch and run, took care of two defenders with his stalk block for a 17-yard TD for Skowronek.

Rams running a lot of jet sweeps today and having success. A much needed wrinkle in the run game. Didn’t run it a lot last year. Have to wonder why they went away from it in the first place.

The Rams are going into the bye 3-3 and expect to get a couple guys back afterward.
A couple moments stand out today but a statement sideline catch followed by that block to spring Skow TD by Allen Robinson seem representative of offense also shaking out some of the fog.

Defense allowed three points…Alaric Jackson keeps passing tests as more OL questions loom…ball distribution on key scoring drives…lots of notables here today.

Jalen Ramsey had 0 sacks in his career until last week. Now he’s got consecutive sacks in back-to-back games.

Seemed the Rams upped the number of jet sweeps after Noteboom went down. Looked like the threat of it helped hold the D for just a bit and give the O a little extra time to operate.

Whew, Rams took over in the 2nd half. Defense only gave up 3 points today – which should’ve been expected facing a 3rd string QB. But at least they held up their end of the bargain. Good to see a more creative run game. OL actually gave Stafford time to throw. Need to get healthy

Matthew Stafford has 29 career pick-six throws. He leads ALL quarterbacks in pick-6’s thrown since 2001. Stafford’s career started in 2009. He has more pick 6’s than Brees (27), Brady (18), Rivers (25), Ben (18) Aaron Rodgers has 4.

No real update from McVay on Joe Noteboom but he is worried it may be an Achilles.

I think Alaric Jackson maybe better than Noteboom at LT… dude is a STUD! Noteboom struggles to stay healthy

Rams WRs had seven carries for 56 yards and a TD. McVay said they needs to get creative in the run-game. They did that today

rams defense entered today’s game vs car ranked 12th in fewest offensive points allowed, come tuesday morning they will be close to top 5.

If McVay’s worst fears confirmed following tests, it’ll be Alaric Jackson up at left tackle – his natural position – after filling in well at right guard. Rob Havenstein is the last starter on the Rams’ OL. They’re on their 5th RG, 3rd LG, 3rd C, 2nd LT. Jackson’s a good player.

Rob Havenstein told me postgame that Oday Aboushi’s communication at right guard today was “great.”

“I think he’s a confident guy who communicates very well, and that’s something that this team needed desperately.”

Answer was in response to me asking about Aboushi’s performance while understanding it’s tough to evaluate another offensive lineman’s in real time and without having watched the tape yet.

Havenstein answered any questions Aboushi had to ensure they were on the same page

Rams HC Sean McVay: “What a stud AJ Jackson was.” Pivoted seamlessly from RG to LT; McVay said Jackson was outstanding all day.

That was a fun game to be at!

Not a pretty win, but it was a win.

I had randomly told the dude next to me that a TD by A Robinson would help his confidence. Then he scored a TD right after I said that.

I have hope for that boy.

    Irrelevant things I noticed:

It was beyond awesome to see Whit with his family on the field. Even in a suit, he just commands attention.

Tutu is tiny! But, he is the same height as Malcom Brown when they stand by each other.

Sko is a bit taller than Higbee….or so it looked. He looks way more like a TE than a WR.

When did Demoff grow his hair out and start wearing it all long and grey? He looks old.

McVay is a maniac on the sidelines.

All of Kroenke’s security guards look mad, like they are just waiting to kill someone.

Not so irrelevant: loved the cheers the crowd gave Hekker when he was announced in the beginning. They showed a pic of him and his child, and then showed him smiling when he saw it. It was so weird when he was punting against us.
