znModeratorJosh Gordon tested positive for marijuana last month
Suspended Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon, who missed the entire 2015 season after testing positive for alcohol, failed an NFL-administered drug test last month, sources have told Miker Garafolo FOX Sports.
Gordon’s sample, which was collected in early March, tested positive for marijuana and dilute, according to a source informed of the results of the test. The source added that both the “A” and “B” samples collected were positive for marijuana and dilute. Though the level of marijuana was below the 35 nanograms per milliliter required for a positive test, the diluted sample is considered a positive test.
This development is a red flag for Gordon but it doesn’t necessarily mean he will miss yet another season. He applied for reinstatement in February and, if all went well, could have been reinstated within 60 days. However, the league has said Goodell wasn’t required to make a decision within that timeframe and it’s clear now the positive test has at least given him and the experts who evaluate Gordon’s case pause.
A source said Goodell has yet to rule on Gordon’s reinstatement request.

znModeratorJohnny Manziel actually living with suspended WR Josh Gordon in LA
Over the weekend, Johnny Manziel told TMZ cameras that is is currently living with Denver Broncos linebacker (and Super Bowl MVP) Von Miller but both Miller and his agent quickly disputed that report. Now comes word that Manziel is actually living in Los Angeles with indefinitely suspended Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon according to ESPN.com.
Wow-just wow. If this report is true, it sounds like an unmitigated disaster for both parties. It could be especially damaging to Gordon, who had at least been giving the impression that he had finally gotten his life in order after repeated suspensions for substance abuse and is currently awaiting a decision by the NFL front office on his petition to be re-instated for the 2016 season. Living with Manziel is clearly not going to convince Roger Goodell that Gordon is fully committed to sobriety.

znModeratorDrew Rosenhaus terminates contract with Johnny Manziel, will reconsider if QB gets treatment
Johnny Manziel’s second agent this offseason, Drew Rosenhaus, has informed the former Cleveland Browns quarterback that either he gets treatment or Rosenhaus no longer will represent him.
“I have terminated the standard representation with Johnny Manziel in the hopes of helping him get the treatment I believe he needs,” Rosenhaus told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “I have informed him that if he takes the immediate steps I have outlined for him that I will rescind the termination and continue to represent him. Otherwise the termination will become permanent. There is a five-day window for me to rescind the termination. I’m hoping he takes the necessary steps to get his life back on track.”
Rosenhaus said from the beginning his agreement with Manziel was contingent upon the QB entering a treatment facility, which he has persistently refused to do.
“I wasn’t walking into an easy situation, but it has descended,” Rosenhaus told SiriusXM NFL Radio on Wednesday night. “It has consistently gotten worse. Quite honestly, one of things I talked to him about from Day 1 … was to get back to getting help, so that the reasons he was released by the Browns would be in the past and that he could move forward with his life as positive member of society and take advantage of all the gifts that he has. … The world can be his. But obviously in many respects he needs guidance right now, he needs help, and needs to gain control of his life again. And obviously before he can even think about football, he’s got to do those things.
“Right now I believe for him to have chance to have a successful life — forget football for a moment — I think it’s imperative for him to get help. I’m taking a stand here purely to help this man. I got involved with the idea that I’d be able to make a difference and l’m really grasping at straws. This is the last thing I can do.”
Rosenhaus never has fired a player in 27 years as an NFL agent, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder.
Manziel told TMZ last week that he had been out in West Hollywood five to six nights in a row and said he doesn’t think NFL teams have a problem with his partying.
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with partying, bro,” Manziel said to TMZ. “There’s a difference between partying and being out of control.”
Manziel was the 22nd overall selection by the Browns in 2014, their second of two first-round draft picks that year. But his two seasons in Cleveland were marred by off-the-field struggles and limited on-the-field success, and he was waived by the team March 11.
Manziel spent 10 weeks in rehab after his rookie season and is the subject of a grand jury investigation in Dallas into whether he assaulted his former girlfriend. The NFL is investigating whether Manziel violated the personal conduct policy in that incident.
Since he spent the weekend of the Browns’ season finale in Las Vegas, Manziel has made regular appearances on social media from locales that include Miami, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
“This is a life-or-death situation,” Rosenhaus said on SiriusXM. “I’m not talking about football anymore. I’m talking about a young man who is in trouble., And at end of day, I have a responsibility. I’m not going to see him go down in flames with me as his agent. He’s either going to have to take necessary steps to get his life back o track or he’s going to have to find someone else to stand by and watch him injure himself. It won’t be me.”
Information from ESPN’s Pat McManamon was used in this report.

znModeratorReport states evidence of drugs and booze all over house rented by Manziel
ARTHUR ARKUSH
Johnny Manziel rented a house in Los Angeles last week and ransacked it to the tune of $32,000 in damages stemming from consecutive nights of booze- and drug-fueled partying, Page Six reported Thursday night.
The broker for a rental company, LA Exotic Life, claims Manziel and his friends destroyed a glass table, left what appears to be evidence of cocaine and mushrooms and left wine stains and cigarette burns in the carpeting. Page Six obtained photos that illustrate the party’s aftermath.
Page Six reports Manziel has been served with a $32,000 legal demand for the damage done to the $4.5 million estate.
“Mr. Manziel threw large parties on both nights, causing extensive damage . . . Evidence suggests [Manziel] and his guests were consuming drugs and alcohol . . . and that they caused a disturbance to the neighborhood,” said Niki Ghazian, the rental company’s attorney.
The LAPD was summoned on April 6 because of noise complaints coming from neighbors including comedian Kathy Griffin.
Two hours after Manziel was due to check out, he was found sleeping on the couch next to a table with the drug residue.
“They were supposed to check out at noon. Manziel was passed out . . . There was cocaine all over the kitchen table, and mushrooms were still out on the table in front of him. There was booze everywhere . . . broken glasses over the floor and a Champagne glass in a tree,” Nicholas Goodwin, the broker for LA Exotic, told Page Six. “If they don’t respond to our demand for compensation, we will sue.”
Prior to this latest example of Manziel’s self destruction, he had been dropped by agent Drew Rosenhaus, the second agent to leave him this year. He’s awaiting a grand jury case for his domestic violence charge from January, when his ex-girlfriend accused him of assault at a Dallas hotel.
He was filmed by TMZ last week outside a L.A. nightclub claiming to be roommates with Von Miller. He was also reportedly the passenger in a recent hit-and-run accident, though no arrests have been made in the incident.
