Johnny Manziel To The Los Angeles Rams?
by Blaine Grisak 6h ago
With the need at the quarterback position and the fact that the Rams moved to Los Angeles, there are going to be a lot of rumors when it comes to the big name quarterbacks on the free agent market such as Johnny Manziel and Robert Griffin III.
There have already been rumors about RGIII being “very interested” in being on the Rams 2016 roster, however, it now looks like Manziel could be making his way into the mix.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Manziel “might” be gaining interest from three teams, and last month, Manziel told people close to him that the Rams were one of three teams interested in him.
Right now, Manziel is still on the Browns’ roster as they are still trying to see if they can get anything for him, if a team doesn’t bite within the next week or so, it is very possible that they could end up releasing the former first round pick. The recent interest is why the Browns most likely did not release him at the beginning of the league year.
The Rams had interest in Manziel during the draft and instead took Aaron Donald, and as mentioned earlier it looks like they still at least have some minor interest in him. It’s hard to tell what any of this means, but its certainly a situation to keep an eye on.
Since joining the Browns as a rookie, Manziel hasn’t made much noise on the field but rather off of it. The quarterback is likely facing a suspension for a still unresolved domestic incident in January.
To add fuel to the fire, Manziel was spotted in Los Angeles at a Kings game last night and has been seen partying in Hollywood.Jeff Fisher and Les Snead have said that they could trade or sign a quarterback to compete with Nick Foles and Case Keenum this offseason, but it is uncertain who that will be and until that is figured out, rumors like this will continue to surface.

Posted by Mike Florio on March 11, 2016, 9:34 AM ESTReport: Browns to cut Manziel on Friday
If 49ers coach Chip Kelly wants quarterback Johnny Manziel, Kelly apparently won’t have to trade for him.
Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland.com reports that the Browns are expected to cut Manziel by the close of business on Friday.
The Browns had created the impression that they would have cut Manziel in late January after his latest brush with the law, if they had the cap space to do it. But they didn’t cut him when the new league year began, which created the impression that they were hoping to trade him or waiting for an opportunity to void his remaining $2.1 million in guaranteed money.
If it’s the former, it means they’ve possibly called every other team and learned that no one will give up anything of value to get him. The next question is whether anyone will touch him until his legal situation in Texas is resolved (he’s facing possibly domestic violence charges) and/or until he addresses lifestyle choices that have resulted in his agent firing him and his own father expressing concern for Manziel’s life.
Why not? No risk, we can cut him in a minute without any cost. I don’t want Manziel to be our starter, but this is a free roll. imo

Honestly, ag, IMO he’s just not worth the distraction. I mean this is a guy who showed up drunk at practice. His problems go way deeper than anything Fisher can fix with a good closed-door chat. He makes guys like Jenkins look like choir boys in comparison. PLus of course…there’s no reason to believe he can play in the NFL.

I don’t have to let him in the building. I can put him in rehab. I can put him on the too drunk to play and I have legal problems list. 😉

Mary Kay Cabot podcast: March 11, 2016CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns officially waived Johnny Manziel on Friday. This follows a quiet few days in free agency in which they lost a number of starters.
Mary Kay Cabot talked about everything going on with the Browns in a podcast today:
Why did it take almost two days to waive Manziel?
Are the Colin Kaepernick rumors real?
Are we making too big a deal out of the players the Browns lost this week?
What’s next for Manziel?
His salary doesn’t start if he isn’t on your day one roster.
