Los Angeles Rams punter Johnny Hekker is a fan favorite. People love him, teammates have nothing but good things to say about him, and generally, you’ll always find the guy smiling off the field. As for his on-field play, he’s just simply superb. The proof is in the pudding, and we got a quick breakdown of what made Hekker so great in 2015.

    Via Pro Football Focus:

People don’t really send much love in the direction of punters, but Hekker deserves his fair share of praise. He’s just 26 years old, and has seen his punting distance increase in each of his four NFL seasons. To top it off, a strong 42.7 percent of his punts wound up landing inside of the 20 last season, which makes playing the field position game a whole lot easier for the Rams, without question.

    He’s gold.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

Johnny Hekker recorded the NFL’s best average punt distance (47.8 yards), as well as the most fair catches (25).

    That’s actually kind of amazing.

Wonder if he is different outdoors v. indoors.
