Chargers Re-Sign OT Joe Barksdale To 4-Year Deal

    http://www.mighty1090.com/2016/03/07/chargers-re-sign-ot-joe-barksdale-to-4-year-deal/

    John Gennaro

He started Training Camp by playing well enough for the team to push D.J. Fluker over to the Right Guard position, and then continued playing well all season long despite a litany of injuries and issues elsewhere along the line.

Barksdale starting 16 games for the Chargers in 2015, after starting in 16 games for the St. Louis Rams in 2014, and is now set to be with the team through the 2019 season.

With a rating of 79.3, Pro Football Focus had Joe Barksdale as one of the top free agent Offensive Tackles this offseason. Now that he has been retained, Chargers General Manager Tom Telesco can focus on upgrading the Center position and possibly look at options for starting Left Tackle to replace the oft-injured King Dunlap.

Financial details of Barksdale’s deal with the team were not immediately made available.

Richie Incognito will be back with Bills in 2016

    http://www.theredzone.org/BlogDescription/tabid/61/EntryId/55213/Richie-Incognito-will-be-back-with-Bills-in-2016/Default.aspx

Guard Richie Incognito will remain with the Buffalo Bills, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.

He indicated via his Twitter account Tuesday that he had agreed to a three-year deal.

“Who’s ready for 3 more years of DOMINATION in Buffalo!!!! @buffalobills”

A source said that the Bills’ final offer, made Monday, was three years for $15.75 million. It wasn’t immediately known if that is the deal agreed upon Tuesday by the two sides.

Incognito, 32, revived his NFL career in Buffalo last season after spending the entire 2014 season out of football.

Free agent LB James Laurinaitis has scheduled visits with seven teams.

The news was delivered by Laurinaitis’ dad, aka Animal from the Road Warriors of WWE fame. Laurinaitis has already visited the Saints, will visit the Falcons early next week, and also has visits scheduled with the Bears, Redskins, Patriots, 49ers and Giants. A durable veteran, Laurinaitis should be able to latch on somewhere soon.

Eagles and Jets visit with wide receiver Chris Givens

he Ravens signed an alleged deep threat yesterday in Mike Wallace, so they have no more need for the last guy they hoped might fill that role.

According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Ravens free agent wideout Chris Givens is visiting the Eagles today, after wrapping up a trip to see the Jets yesterday.

Givens came over to Baltimore in a trade with the Rams, and caught 19 passes for 346 yards and a touchdown in 12 games filling in for the injury plagued Ravens.

That’s a strong per-catch average (18.2), but he’s never emerged as a consistent threat. The former Rams fourth-rounder was never more productive than his rookie year, when he caught 42 passes.
