I remember that draft, and I remember thinking the Rams blew it, and I remember remembering being right about that.

    (Disclaimer: I’m not a draftnik).

They couldn’t have had Irvin. He went before they picked. They could have had Thomas.

There was a trade in place with the Giantsā€¦right before Dallas pickedā€¦but Rams never returned the call & Giants selected OL Eric Moore.

Giants were willing to trade backā€¦they were on hold until Rams declined. Donā€™t know the specific move up draft capital asked by Giants.

To be fair, the Rams would have had to package pick #14 and #20 to move up and pick Irvin at #10, but it could have been done, and weā€™d still have pick #35 to draft Thurman Thomas. Just goes to show that the 1980s L.A. Rams won in spite of, not because of, our flighty ownership.
