‘Tis the season for misinformation, with the NFL Draft just weeks away and teams scrambling to smokescreen as much as possible. We know the Titans are talking to people about the possibility of moving out of No. 1 overall, and interest is reportedly heating up in the top pick.

But who is interested? According to Tony Pauline of Draft Insider, there are four teams who have called Titans GM Jon Robinson to inquire about the top slot.

Including, quite spicily, the Dallas Cowboys.

Joining Dallas are the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets. One of these does not belong.

Yes, it is the Jets. As Pauline notes, the “overall belief around the league” is that New York doesn’t have the ability to move that far north.

The Jets are currently sitting at No. 20, which means making a move up to No. 1 would be a hefty price. That’s a massive jump and something that’s just not going to happen realistically unless the Jets are willing to give up a lot or the Titans are willing to take back a little.

The Cowboys, Eagles and 49ers are all plausible, however. With picks that range from No. 4 (Dallas) to No. 7 (San Francisco) and No. 8 (Philadelphia), the Titans can take picks and move down a minimal number of slots.

Adding picks while not sacrificing an opportunity to pick up one of the top prospects would be a perfect move for the Titans.

Pauline reports the Cowboys have Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey on the top of their draft board. It’s pretty likely the versatile secondary player is gone by No. 4 — Dallas could certainly get him with the fourth selection, but it’s possible he’s snagged before they pick. If the Cowboys want to guarantee they get Ramsey, there’s only one spot where they can do it.

For the 49ers and Eagles, it’s likely about acquiring a quarterback. It stands to reason the Browns want to grab a quarterback at No. 2, although it’s by no means guaranteed.
