Fisher said the former South Carolina star has “a good feel for the inside stuff” and makes plays after the catch.

“I expect that he’ll be a household name at some point because he’s such a good player,” Fisher said.

Keenum said Cooper has “a little shiftiness to him” and expects him to contribute this season.

“He’s made a few mistakes along the way,” Keenum said, “but he’s learned from them and hasn’t made them twice.”

When the Los Angeles Rams drafted Cooper in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft, it was a pick surrounded by excitement. Apparently, it hasn’t taken much time for Cooper to make his presence felt with the team either.

I’ve gotta say, I’ve been really impressed with Cooper this week. He got snaps with 1s today, too.

    Sounds good.

Haven’t heard much about the tight ends.

We will need someone to step up and replace Jared Cook’s drops this season.

only ota’s but definitely not bad news.

and i agree. i wanna read and hear similar things about the rookie tight ends.

Well but, we haven’t heard anything about any of the other WRs either. So out of all of them–the 6 new WRs, the 2 new TEs–we’ve really only heard things about Cooper.

I take it that means he’s being exceptional (to this point anyway).

So one exceptional guy gets buzz, and that doesn’t mean the others are lagging. Maybe some are, maybe some aren’t. We don’t know and it is probably too soon. BUT it is rare and interesting that Cooper is being so exceptional he stands out at this point.

In short, I don’t think Cooper being exceptional tells us anything about the others one way or another. In fact it would be kind of a miracle if they had 2 rookie WRs/TEs who were THIS exceptional.

well we’re also hearing good things about spruce.

i’m not saying the others are lagging. just that hearing positive things can only be good news for the other rookies.

and yes. i do want a miracle. that’s not asking for too much is it? haha!

That’s true, but, actually, the stuff about Spruce is nothing like the stuff about Cooper. Spruce is a so.cal local and gets attention that way. Not that he isn’t doing well. Cooper, on the other hand, gets praise from the coach, Keenum, and a lot of observing reporters. And, he’s praised for all kinds of things, from learning the playbook quickly to how he plays with the 1s (I don’t think Spruce has made it to the 1s yet).

from off the net from dieterbrock

Pharoh Cooper with a half decent QB in the SEC had over 1300 yards and 11 td in his soph season. AS a junior, SC was a shideshow with a quitting HC and lousy QB play. Still PC had over 1000 yards and 9 tds

He was basically a victim of circumstance and we are lucky for it. If he had played with a good QB we aren’t getting a whiff of him

well this is exactly what i was hoping for. again it’s only otas. but it’s not bad news.

i’m hoping he can have a jarvis landry type rookie season. just get a high volume of catches. goff needs someone to lean on for sure.

Caught an interview with Vincent Bonsignore this past Friday afternoon on KLAC AM 570. He was asked if any of the rookie WR’s had distinguished themselves in OTA’s.

Most of his response centered on Cooper with the remaining balance spent on Spruce.

He also noted that NO ONE had stood out as being a down-the-field threat.

Cooper in the slot. Reverses, double reverses, Cooper passing out of the backfield.

Austin or Cooper running up the middle.

Wait til you all see Cooper.
He is built like a running back.
He will definitely make special teams because he loves to hit on the fly.
I have to think they loved him for his downfield blocking as well.

He’s kind of inspirational because fellow players see him hustling and busting his butt.

It rubs off on his teammates.

It will be tough to keep him off the field.
