Sean McVay took a team that hadn’t made the playoffs in 12 years to the Super Bowl in 2 years. Amazing. Worth his weight in gold to that organization.

Nickell Robey-Coleman tells me that the official told him the ball got tipped, on the hit he made when officials didn’t call pass interference.

    Questions to answer.

Sean Payton why throw the 1st play after Ginn catch

McVay – what’s wrong with Gurley

Payton- what did the ref say to u on the non PI call ?

McVay. Why not go for it on 4th and goal from 6 inch line

I can keep going but that’s enough for now

All of LA is proud of the @RamsNFL for securing the victory over the New Orleans Saints to send them to the Super Bowl.

    Tedy Bruschi@TedyBruschi
That no call wasn’t playoff officiating. That was bad officiating. Really bad.

    Next Gen Stats@NextGenStats
The Rams offense featured Todd Gurley on only 32 offensive plays, his fewest in a game under Sean McVay. C.J. Anderson played more snaps and finished the game with more touches.

Anderson: 17 touches on 35 plays
Gurley: 5 touches on 32 plays

That Norwegian Blue Parrot wasn’t dead. It was just sleeping. What happened to let them play?
I would have called it. But then, I would call alot more stuff that they don’t.

Jared Goff had to use Sean Mannion’s helmet first few series because his communication system with sideline completely malfunctioned

#Rams Marcus Peters on #Saints anger over blown pass interference: “If they coach run the football on first and second down, they probably ain’t even going to be sitting here talking about this. … You give Sean McVay the ball back with 1:43 or something, we’re going to score.”

    Gregg Rosenthal@greggrosenthal
Saints got the ball 4 times in the 4th quarter and OT. Scored 3 points and Brees turned it over.

    Peter Schrager@PSchrags
Horrible call? Sure. But the Rams showed inredible heart there, too. Heck of a job by LA, down 10, second half in hardest building to win in, as well.

    Torry Holt@BigGame81
@JHekker outstanding job getting the ball held for Greg “The Leg” on that game winner. Play of the game quietly #Rams #SB53

There has never been a season where both Conference Championship games went to overtime in the Super Bowl era.

    Brian Baldinger@BaldyNFL
.@patriots v @chiefs @RamsNFL v @saints has given us the best Championship Sunday Ever. 2 OT’s with the stars lighting up the TV screens around the world. #BaldysBreakdowns

If you’re wondering….2012 was the last time both home teams lost on championship Sunday

Gurley: I’m not injured, just played ‘sorry’ game
The Rams’ star running back stood on the sideline with his helmet on throughout most of the NFC Championship Game and hardly appeared in action as backup C.J. Anderson rushed for 44 yards on 16 carries

Aaron Donald was double-teamed at a higher rate by the Saints Sunday (79% of pass plays) than in any other game this season. He also was held to his second-lowest pass rush win rate (18%) this year. In the regular season Donald recorded a PRWR of 46%, higher than any other qualifying player in the league. PRWR is an ESPN metric powered by NFL Next Gen Stats.

All those tough wins this year that drove fans nuts prepared the #Rams for all this. It’s the #NFL. It’s rarely gonna be easy. Learning how to win, battling, dealing with adversity, that’s what it’s all about. It’s how they could win a game in that environment

The two Cali quarterbacks beat the two Texas QB’s. Settles that argument once and for all.

I’m still trying to get over the fact that Sean McVay, six days after his 14th birthday, attended the Rams-Titans Super Bowl, coached by Jeff Fisher in 2000, IN ATLANTA.

Another moment from the Rams’ post-game locker room: Someone tapped Josh Kroenke (Stan’s son, who runs the Nuggets/Avs) on the shoulder with a phone. “It’s Magic Johnson. He wants to say ‘Congratulations.” So very LA.

It wasn’t long ago Ndamukong Suh was deciding between signing with the Los Angeles #Rams and the New Orleans #Saints. He came up big in this game and last week’s game. Safe to say this game would have been different had he chosen the Saints in the offseason.

Jared Goff outplayed Drew Brees for the balance of the game. Brees after the first quarter was 16/25, 138 yards (5.5 y/a), 1 TD, 1 Int, 75.0 QB rating. Goff after the first quarter was 22/28, 292 yards (10.4 y/a) 122.0 QB rating. #LARams

to do this in a hostile environment. in the biggest game (so far) of his life.

he grew up a little today. and that first quarter interception wasn’t really his fault. i really can’t think of a throw where i thought, “whoa! what are you doing!?”

one questionable decision was late when he had an opportunity to run it in the end zone.

but shoot. considering the circumstances surrounding this game. he played big when it was absolutely needed. was it his best? i hope not. i hope there’s more.
