aaron donald is back to being rated the number one dlineman according to pff.
next up is seattle. and you know he loves playing seattle! i hope he goes off!
i keep saying it. but i think donald is the one true transcendent player on this rams team. there are some other candidates. but i feel like this guy has already proven it to be true in the short time he’s played. he’s that good. i don’t know if i’ve seen a dlineman with his combination of strength, speed, and explosion. and it’s not just strength. like his legs are strong. or his chest. or his arms. and he is strong in those areas. but even his fingers are strong. insanely strong. if he gets his hands on you it’s over. you’re done. easily the best dlineman i’ve seen on the rams. but my fandom only goes back to 95.
but that’s also the reason why i want to see the defense do so well. moreso than the offense. it’s not just enough. for me at least. for donald to be merely a great player on a great team. i want donald to be on a great team with a great defense. or he could be like a reggie white. a team known for its offense with him being a singular larger than life figure on defense. but really. i want him to be on a defense that people write about decades from now.
anyway. i’m rambling…

AUSTIN BLYTHE, G, LOS ANGELES RAMS
Overall grade: 76.9At the moment, the Los Angeles Rams arguably possess one of the best offensive lines in the entire NFL, and the rise of Austin Blythe is a big reason why. Ranking every offensive lineman across the league by grade, Blythe was second with an 83.2 overall grade going into Week 4. The third-year lineman has improved every season since entering the league, and his Week 3 pass blocking grade of 88.2 against the Chargers was his career-best thus far. Adding in Thursday night’s game against the Vikings, Blythe has allowed only five total pressures in 151 pass block snaps and is yet to allow a sack.

QUARTERBACK
JARED GOFF, LOS ANGELES RAMS – 96.3Goff was on fire on Thursday Night Football, and while the Rams offensive scheme put their playmakers in position to make plays, Goff’s pinpoint accuracy on the night was just as important to their overall success. On throws traveling 20+ yards downfield, the number one selection in the 2016 NFL Draft went five-for-five for 190 yards and four touchdowns.

INTERIOR DEFENSIVE LINEMAN
Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams – 93.1
It doesn’t get much better for the Rams than their franchise quarterback and star defensive player having the nights they did against the Vikings. Donald racked up a ridiculous 13 total pressures, including two sacks and two hits from 56 pass-rushing snaps. Through four games this year Donald has produced 28 total pressures, two more than he produced in his first four games last year.

WIDE RECEIVER RANKING, WEEK 4: 1st
It should come as no surprise that the best team in the league with the best offense in the league also has the best wide receiver corps in the league through the opening month. Robert Woods (84.2) and Brandin Cooks (82.3) both have top-10 receiving grades, while Cooper Kupp (79.1) isn’t far behind at 20th. No team can match the 29 explosive plays generated by Rams’ wideouts on the year, a league-leading 14 of which have come from Cooks.
