Just curious. On a scale of 1 to 10, (10 being great, 1 being awful, 5 being mediocre) how would you rate, Fisher, and then Snead ?

Yes, its silly to reduce their ram-years down to a number — do it anyway.

Fisher — 6.6
Snead — 7.0

I think injuries have derailed them mainly,
but in general they’ve done ok. A little better
than mediocre. Nothing to rave about, either.

Check your algebra and you’ll see that I’m right. You probably forgot to subtract the Foles and carry the Barron.

Fisher and Snead both are no better than 5.0.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

Sprinkles are for winners.

I don’t know how to do it in numbers.

I would say that Fisher is a coach on par with guys like John (not Jim) Harbaugh, Coughlin, Kubiak, Payton, and Rivera. Things fall right and they can win a superbowl. That’s his “tier.”

Snead? He’s a top GM. Who else has picked 2 rookies of the year? Who else has picked 2 top corners in the same draft? What other team lost 2 RBs in the space of 2 years and the result is they’re in an off-season where they have 3 very good #2 RBs (Cunningham, Brown, Green) and can only keep 2…without spending a single draft pick on any of them.

I give Fisher a C+. It is hard to grade Snead, cause he isn’t in charge. He is an A at trades, but overall, I have to guess and say a B. The Rams have had some hits, but too many misses and trading up into the top of the first round doesn’t work for me. Demoff used to be an A, but he is on sabbatical now. His protege is a C. Why can’t we extend anyone early. I take that back. We extended Foles. 😉

Algebra was used in this post. Fisher is a 5.0 and Snead is a 7.0. Devaney was a 5.0.

5.0 isn’t necessarily bad, but I grade according to the class of the people they are in. The best football people are in the NFL. So, while it isn’t bad, it isn’t any better than average compared to the competition.

I agree with the Fisher comparisons, especially Coughlin. Maybe Andy Reid too.

I also think Snead is a very good GM. I think he handles a draft better than just about anyone in the NFL. He has traded down, traded up, moved around a little within middle rounds, and drafted some very, very good talent. He has been less successful in the free agent side of the business though. Jared Cook, Jake Long, Cortland Finnegan… pretty lousy. He has guts to make big roster moves like releasing Laurinitis and Chris Long.
