Rams Uniform examples from the past

Has any other fanbase been this obsessed with its teams uniforms?

Have to admit that I’m obsessed to. But it’s interesting to me how much concern there is out there about what the uniforms will eventually look like. Now it’s even become the topic of a national radio/tv broadcast…

“One of the bigger topics of discussion other than Peyton Manning since the Rams have moved to Los Angeles have been their uniforms. Will they stick with what they have or will they go back to the blue and yellow “Ferragamo’s” or will they go back to the fearsome foursome blue and white?

The Rams’ uniform became a big topic Wednesday on The Dan Patrick Show hosted by Ross Tucker. Dave Dameshek of the NFL Network called in and gave his thoughts on the uniform situation and whats he thinks the Rams should do…”: http://ramblinfan.com/2016/02/10/dave-dameshek-on-rams-uniforms-i-want-the-ferragamos/

Well, perhaps it harkens back to our evolutionary
past. Maybe on some deep new-agey-level
    we remember being nautilus shaped…

i never got to see then in the blue and white. i’d like to at least see that – maybe make it the throwback uni.

i just read that they were red and black when they were in cleveland.

Whatever they choose as their regular home and road colors, now that they are in LA, they are more likely to wear the old blue and whites as their throwback uniforms. To my knowledge, they never wore those after moving to Saint Louis.

Yes, other teams are obsessed too.

49ers tried to do this in 91 and the fans didn’t allow it.

Another ploy to make more money for StanK.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

    Sprinkles are for winners.

Actually it’s been longer than that. They haven’t worn the blue and white uniforms since the final game of the 72 season.

big fan of the Knox I era uniforms

I think I like the Puma version the Rams had in St.Louis. They were addressing the sleeve situation pretty well imo.

Russell Athletics did a good job as well.

    Nike just ain’t gettin’ it!

To be fair, no other fanbase has had a uniform that compares favorably to the Rams.

I think, really, that the uniform identity is also tied to winning. I bet Tampa didn’t have much of a problem changing their uniform.

But if Dallas tried to change their colors or the star on the helmet, hell yes there would be noise.

And minor tweaks are not going to upset people as much as larger changes, of course. The Bears added red to the C. The lines might change here and there. Nobody really gets too upset.

Even the Rams change to the current gold over the yellow wasn’t widely protested.

It’s the horns. It’s the helmet.

I wonder about the Jets. They had a radical change to their helmet. I wonder how that went down because they had the big super bowl/Namath thing in the old helmet (which they have returned to) whereas Tampa changed their helmet without any winning memory, really. And Cincinnati.

I dunno. I don’t follow other teams, but we have a spread of nomads around the country. What about the Patriots’ change?

Joemad is right about the 9ers. But that helmet lasted about 30 seconds before it was shot down. Not sure it was ever seriously considered, actually. But I don’t hear talk of the 9ers uniforms on the radio here. Seems to me the Rams fans are more deeply connected.

Actually it looks like the Rams have changed uniforms more often than most franchises.

Even when the basic colors remain the same (blue/white, blue/yellow, navy/gold) the design changes within that basic scheme.

The Rams horns are the only man-made object visible from outer space.
