Fox Sports’ Charles Davis Talks Rams-Eagles Trade, Foles and Upcoming Draft
John Sandner posted on March 12, 2015 09:36

Charles Davis of Fox Sports and The NFL Network joined Charlie, Doug and Jim on The Ryan Kelly Morning After, talking linens, NFL madness & hotel service:

Fans and media are upset in Philly, is the outrage justified?

The immediate reaction is instant rage, but let it all play out. I just don’t think they’re even close to being done with the dealing yet. I think behind the scenes they’re trying to do more things. Chip Kelly has full control of roster deals.

What does acquiring Foles mean for the Rams?

Could be big, as the Rams seem to be a team that was just one solid QB away from being a real playoff team.

Who is responsible for Nick Foles success, Foles or Chip Kelly?

Both – Foles has natural talent, but Chip Kelly has also shown an ability to plug in almost anyone into his ‘system’ and be successful.

    Where will Mariota go?

Up in the air right now, possible options: Tennessee Titans, New York Jets, Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, St. Louis Rams.

Can Nick Foles lead the Rams to the playoffs?

He’s a definite upgrade over Shaun Hill. I think he has a chip on his shoulder after being traded. I think Foles gives the Rams that opportunity to be consistent and play. They’re in this fight without a doubt. San Francisco has obviously taken some steps back. Seattle is still going to be the team that everyone chases down. But has St. Louis ever backed down to Seattle?

What do you think about Bradford?

I think he’s a heck of a talent, but I’m always one of those that looks at the whole body of work. Potential is one thing, but potential can strangle you. The bottom line is, if you’re not out on the field, we really can’t say what you are or what you are not.

Switching to the draft, you think the Rams have a chance at Amari Cooper?

“Cooper in a lot of people’s opinion…comes out as the more polished receiver (than Kevin White). If (the Raiders) surprise and don’t go with him at four, a case coule be made that Cooper could be available at 10. I wouldn’t be surprised at all (if the Rams) drafted him. I like him a bunch.”
