Ravens are giving former Rams’ DL Michael Brockers a 3-year, $30 million deal that includes $21m guaranteed, per source.

Brockers essentially went from $11m/season to $10m/season as he enters his age 29 season. I thought the Rams might have a chance if it dropped lower, but the mention of “several teams” indicates there was a strong market.
Gary Klein@LATimesklein
Brockers was a stabilizing force for Rams but knew they would be hard-pressed to keep him with other salary commitments. Went out of his way to help younger linemen develop.
Lindsey Thiry@LindseyThiry
Michael Brockers was the less-often spoken about member of the Rams DL featuring Aaron Donald, but there was no doubt that he would earn another significant contract in free agency.

you’ll be missed big bro. Thank you for all of your mentorship. ONE OF THE BEST LEADERS IVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. ON & OFF THE FIELD. ONE OF THE BEST RUN STOPPING/ VERSATILE DEFENSIVE TACKLES In the game. Watch the tape.

Michael Brockers was the first draft pick by Les Snead as the Rams’ general manager. The first pick of the Snead/Fisher regime. Also a turning of the tide. Last year Saffold, this year Brockers and maybe even Zuerlein. All the longest-tenured players potentially gone.

Last year Ravens had 2 interior DL in Pierce + Williams built basically like fire hydrants.
This season they may have just replaced them with the same quality run defenders, but who are 6’5-6’8, 300+, have way more length + positional flexibility in the positionless defense

Average of $10 mil/year earned a 4th round pick in this year’s comp picks…
