37-10 win
I like these “win” things.
…
October 20, 2019 at 4:36 pm #106996InvaderRamModeratorwell. defense looked real good. against a good offense.
pass rush looked good. i’m guessing ramsey was the difference?
just one game, but it was a good game.
October 20, 2019 at 4:46 pm #106997AgamemnonParticipantOctober 20, 2019 at 5:04 pm #106998InvaderRamModeratorI thought the offensive line played better, the defense played better, Goff played better.
i thought the protection was better. but it should have been considering the defense they were facing. run offense still is sputtering though.
and the passing game still had timing problems. whatever the reason for that was despite better pass protection.
October 20, 2019 at 5:27 pm #107005wvParticipantThey need to schedule more one-win teams.
I get to watch this one now. I only watch the wins. That’s how i roll.

vOctober 20, 2019 at 7:34 pm #107020wvParticipanti watched the first quarter so far. Does it seem like Legatron never puts em through the middle anymore? Even the kicks he makes now always seem to be barely inside the uprights.

vOctober 20, 2019 at 8:15 pm #107025nittany ramModeratorThe frustrating thing is that if not for a missed FG, the Rams would be 5-2 and the Seahawks would be 4-3.
The encouraging thing is that today was the first complete game they’ve played and they’re only a missed FG away from being 5-2.

vDo you have Game Pass, WV? Or did you tape it via the Sunday Ticket?
This is my first season in aeons without the Ticket. Bummed that I couldn’t watch the game as it happened.
In limbo now . . . debating whether or not to get Game Pass. The Rams will likely be on local TV five more times this season. Maybe another game or two at a sports bar. But it’s much more enjoyable for me to relax in my own home.
I wish the NFL would diversify and offer other options beyond Game Pass and Directv. I’d be happy if I could just hook up with LA channels. Limit my out of market watching to just the Rams. I don’t need to see all the other games . . . but that’s not an option.
I thought capitalism was supposed to be all about competition!!

I cant afford all that satellite tv stuff, but I can afford Game Pass. I love it. I dont ever have to watch the Rams lose 🙂
Game Pass is perfect for me. I like being able to watch the game whenever i want, as well as any parts of any other game. Sometimes i like to watch the last ten minutes of the best games, etc.
…Goff ‘just missed’ four big throws in the first half. I dont know what to think of that. All four passes were, like, two inches too long. You could say, he is very very close and will start making those throws at some point. Or, you could say the pressure has affected him and he is just gonna be ‘off’ this year. I dunno.
Oh, and how in the hell could the Falcons look so unprepared for the Hekker fake punt? Geez. If i was a falcon fan I’d wear a bag over my head.
Best case scenario for the Rams this year might be: Somehow they scratch and claw their way to wildcard contention. And avoid injuries. And near the end of the year, they get Talib and Johnson back. Think about ‘that’ defense, goin into the playoffs.

vOctober 20, 2019 at 8:59 pm #107033InvaderRamModeratorwell they’re close to a wild card spot and with lots of football left to play.
hopefully, the oline continues to jell. and matthews, talib, and johnson can come back at the end of the season.

Jalen Ramsey’s First Game
Was at the game today and on most plays Jalen was in, I just watched him during the live action, then watched the re-play action on the screen. A couple of observations.
First, even though he was up on the line for more than half the plays, he doesn’t actually jam the receiver at the line. Allows a free release and then trails in tight coverage.
Julio Jones did beat him on a few times, but then again, that’s Julio Jones.
The forced fumble was a thing of beauty. No El Matador run support like Marcus Peters.
You could easily see the big difference he makes in Wade’s defense. That was the most aggressive play calling Wade has done this year. Particularly in regard to blitzes.
Surprisingly quite a few Ram jerseys on display. Many of them being the Georgia boy Gurley, but plenty of others also.
By the 3rd Quarter we had to temper our cheers because we felt so sorry for the Falcon fans. The Falcons played very poorly today.
When Freeman got into the scuffle with Aaron Donald a fan close by shouted, “Put him on defense. At least he hits someone.”
October 20, 2019 at 9:37 pm #107039InvaderRamModeratoralso with jalen. you gotta figure he’s still shaking off some rust. so all in all. decent performance against a future hofer with the ability to get better.

Was at the game today.
First time I have ever been to a game the Rams won. What a game. A few things that stood out watching it from the stands.
First off, Fowler was a Monster. Really disruptive, almost had 4 sacks, had a huge tackle for a loss, and really took advantage, and made the Falcons pay for doubling Donald.
Obo, while I don’t know if he got any stats, he flashed when he was on the field. Couple times, he got in the backfield quick, and had some nice PR Moves.
Hill played a really good game.
Ramsey for sure changes our defense exactly how I hoped he would. We played WAY MORE Man coverage today.
D held the falcons to 3 points until the backups came in the last 5-6 Min. That is pretty impressive. The Atlanta Offense has been rolling all year.
Aaron Donald is a beast. We all know that, but he just jumps out at you live. I watched the Chris long interview and was very impressed, especially where he was talking about when Seattle hit him out of bounds and he lost his temper. He said he had to be better than that in those situations. Today he was. He just picked Freeman up. Never swung, didn’t get kicked out. But again, he is something. He grabs my attention like Lawrence Taylor used to. Guys like that change how you watch the game.
Edwards looked good. He started off really strong. Missed some assignments in the 2nd half, but overall, I was very impressed for a Rookie in his first start. Hope he keeps trending up.
Henderson had some nice runs.
It looked like they were making a big effort to make Everett a big part of the game plan. Goff was really close to hooking up with him a bunch of times, and if they get that down, this offense will be much tougher to defend.
Woods is such a team guy, and exactly what you want in a receiver. He never takes a play off, and is such a great blocker.
Christian looked like he had a pretty good game.
Ramsey seems to already fit in with the players and coaches.
Blythe seemed like he had another tough day. I will have to watch the game on TV, but several times his guy hit our RBs in the backfield.
Hav seemed to have a better game, but I am not sure if that is just because he wasn’t facing a speed rusher.
Gurley’s catch in the corner of the endzone was beautiful. What a great catch, especially for a Running Back.
Goff broke #45’s ankle on his touchdown run. He had some shake today. LOL
Littleton’s Int was sweet, just a great, quick reaction. That boy can play.
I have never been to a game with a fake punt. That was really cool.
Jojo was really close to breaking that punt return for a TD at the end of the half. But a really fun, exciting return. However, his first punt return scared the crap out of me. What was he thinking?
The Punt/Fumble/Touchdown was awesome. That returner got lit up by 3 or 4 guys before he finally fumbled. I couldn’t tell who recovered it, but it looked like it was Darious Williams.
I kept seeing Rapp all over the field. Box Score says he had 5 Tackles, but it seemed like more.
If this is what the Pass D looks like now, imagine with John Johnson back.
Run blocking on the right side of the O-Line has to get better.
Overall, what a game. Man that stadium was empty by the middle of the 3rd Qtr.
After the game was over, some guy in Rams jersey comes running out of the restroom yelling “Whose House? RAMS HOUSE” swinging his arms around like a complete lunatick. My wife and I were cracking up. It didn’t seem to make any of the Falcon’s fans laugh.
That was the first time I have been to the stadium. It is nice. I don’t think it will hold a candle to Stan’s little project in LA, but it is a really nice stadium.

i don’t know who originally coined the term, but “giraffe mode” was hilarious to watch.
somebody has to get that nickname out to goff.

Blinkscout Game 7 … Falcon blowout.
Needed the rest that only comes with that kind of win … dominant …
The Great
1) Our DB coaches getting Ramsey up to speed to at least participate in only 4 days. Standing ovation here.
2) Donte Fowler presenting us with what is a great problem to have. If he keeps it up we’re going to have a serious decision to make. I think he commands too much for us to shell out and we take a 3rd round comp pick, personally.
3) Littleton’s INT. Thing of beauty.
4) Holding Matt Ryan to 170 yards passing with a new trade acquisition and 4 non starters (including Christian).
The Good
5) Obo getting snaps and getting to see his corner agility.
6) Getting closer and closer to hitting Everett on deep balls. He’ll have a matchup or 5 every game where he can get deep … definitely need to get the timing down there. I actually think he is the missing piece of our offense that will change the way we play.
7) Troy Hill solid.
8) David Edwards with a solid game in his first start.
9) Coming back off that hard loss last week.
10) Ramsey’s FF.
The Bad
11) What was that running the clock out garbage with 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter?
12) Mediocre run designs … maybe getting vanilla after the game was in hand?
13) What’s the deal with the refs missing 2 TDs? Like, you call it a TD and then reverse it if it’s not … you don’t make a coach waste a challenge.
Not actually that much to talk about in this game … regular handling of a struggling opponent.
