Actually, I am going to Massachusetts General Hospital.

They have a proton beam therapy center. During off hours, they rent out beam time to companies like mine who need to test hardware under a proton environment.

We are building hardware for the (name deleted) satellites.

It sounds interesting, but once you get there and get set up and start the 8 hour test protocol, it is like watching paint dry.

    Alles klar, Herr Kommissar.

Kidding, of course. I remember the chaos and vitriol on other boards when things got out of hand. You are fully within your mod rights to tamp down when you see things flaring up.

This is the last day of my extended holiday shutdown, and I’m starting the new year with an extended trip. It should be good and I will get a close up view of a particle accelerator, which will be cool (and thankfully it will be irradiating electronics, not me). As a rule, I don’t post from my business computer, but I do read, so I’ll be here in spirit.

    Go Giants!

I think I heard the reason the Ryan boys were let go was so that Buffalo could lock up Lynn as their next HC (not sure of the logic, but that’s what I think I heard on WFAN).

Interesting little side story: My 2014 Mazda 6 has an HD radio. For whatever reason, I get the BEST AM reception that I ever have gotten. I can listen to WFAN (660 kHz) from NYC well into Massachusetts, usually to Exit 10 or even 9. Also, I had to go to Syracuse right before Christmas and I listened to WFAN past Binghampton, almost to Cortland. Don’t know why or how, I doubt there is an HD-AM, maybe just a better antenna.

Anyway, bring on Trish the Dish!

The thing inherently better about base 10 is most of us have 10 fingers.

    Plus, money is base 10.

OK, since nobody guessed, I was thinking that Trump fits the term “crybully” to a T.

and, crybully is easier to say than “thin skinned winy little bitch”.

    I like it.

    My bad.

    I mistook Waufle for Bourreau.

Simple mistake, only one letter difference (OL coach vs. DL coach)…

    Hey Billy.

I believe I get what you are saying.

I think WV will back me up here when I say, we all have to be very careful on how we evaluate what the hell is going on around us.

We all live in our own reality tunnels, made by our initial imprinting and reinforced by our social programming.

The way our language is structured causes us to make and receive statements that are absolute: You are wrong. I am right. This is all bullshit. It should be, I believe you are wrong, I think I am right.

I know I am preaching to the choir. Thanks for coming back and good luck with the novel.

    Best,
    Matt

So then why post? You just stated it didn’t affect you. Why were you compelled to post your three word post?

I’m guessing here, but is your concern that the EPA wants to replace Ozone depleting compounds with non depleting compounds that are flammable?

Are you against Lysol (damned flammable from my own dumb shit teen aged experiments…)?

Where does the idea that HRC wanted to start a war with Russia come from?

Doesn’t everyone remember MAD? It still holds water.

Any “war” between us is going to be of the cold variety, and is still, and always has been ongoing.

My fear is Trump is going to work with Russia where his economic interests and theirs align. I feel for our allies…

Maybe I’m drinking the Kool-aid down here in Tri-State. I do listen to WFAN from NYC whenever I’m out and about and there is a lot of faith in Spags and the thought that Eli can do what he has done before in Green Bay.

Personally, I’d like to see the Giants win because I think they are the only team in the NFC that can beat the Cowboys and, dare I say it, the Pats.

I believe that was 2 years ago when Boston got nailed. My daughter’s freshman year at BU… I had to go there and get her computer over to a Best Buy in the middle of it all. 3 lane highways down to one lane, many streets impassible, it was quite the scene.

Sorry if my post read that I wanted to go farther north for more snow; I’m just going to have to leave where I am to retire, and if I’m going to stay in NE, I’ll have to go north.

Here’s what I meant by hyperbole (from the article):

The SPLC did not track incidents of hate and harassment in the same way before the election, so the number can’t be directly compared to an earlier period or solely attributed to Trump’s win. Trump himself put some of the blame on the media for amplifying the stories of attacks after the election.

Do I think the Trump victory emboldened a bunch of racists? Yes.

Do I think Trump will go down as one of the worst presidents ever? Yes.

Do I believe all of the hate and racism is a direct result of Trump’s victory? No. It was always here, we’re just viewing it through Trump colored lenses.

Yeah, this article reeks of hyperbole. Beneath our veneer of progressivism, we as a country are steeped in intollarance. All this would have happened with or without the Donald victory.

I was talking with my brother (yes, ZN; the “wing nut” one who thinks this nation started going to hell when we went off the gold standard). He is a life-long Democrat and held office for several years as the minority leader of his county legislature, somewhere up in NY State. Anyway, I asked him if he was scared of a Trump presidency. He said he was concerned, but not afraid. He called Trump an “agent of change” and thought that it was long overdue (he had nothing good to say about HRC or BO, and said “good riddance”). He just hopes that this is the wake up call the Democrats and Republicans have needed, and that nothing truly bad goes down during the wake up call.

I tend to agree with him. I just hope there are enough checks and balances in our government to weather the Trump presidency.

I vote no on Marrone. He showed his colors with the Buffalo exit.

I’d like to see Matt Patricia with a strong, established OC (Norv Turner, anyone?).

Keep the D as the focus, slowly build the O to respectability.

I vote no on Payton. I don’t like anything about the Saints post Bounty Gate.

Here’s my Dayquill induced waking fever dream: If Patricia is hired as a HC, the Pats will replace him with GW. Maybe the egos are too big to allow for that, but boy, wouldn’t that reaffirm the whole “evil empire” theory?

Sorry to piss on the parade, but if Donnal and Hav are the guards, where exactly do they move GRob inside to? Will one of the three play center?

Do we go with Goff and Mannion at QB (I think we should)?

The specials were special, but I think a lot of that has to do with the coordinator. Can they / will they keep Fassel?

    Who plays LT?
