we’ve seen it dozens of times…  the fans in the stands with no shirt on in 15 degree weather.   I don’t understand how and why they do it….  even McVay wasn’t wearing a beanie…

It looked very cold out there.

Rams were outscored and out gained by GB 2:1……. same with the penalty tally.. 8 flags for the Rams, 4 for GB. and 1st downs 13 for LA, 27 for GB.

McVay is a combined 4-12 against his old assistants from Wash DC.

    0-3 vs Matt LaFleur

    4-9 vs Shanahan

McVay still hasn’t figured these guys out on a consistent basis …after 5 years i’m not sure that he ever will.

i really don’t remember much of Baker Mayfield in the NFL… never really followed him…

i do remember the game when he took the Rams down to the wire when Goff and the Rams faced the Browns in Cleveland a few seasons back… .Baker didn’t look bad at all.

They needed to sign someone that has the ability to throw a 40 yard pass…

are you folks surprised that it took McVay and the coaching staff this long to realize that Wolford can’t throw a deep pass ?

the Rams had a very decent game plan vs Seattle last week, their QB just couldn’t execute and missed some wide open throws…

    correct about the Lions….

They should be at least 8-4, maybe 9-3

Only the Eagles have scored more points than Detroit in the NFC.

If the season ended today, Detroit gets pick #4 and pick #62 from the Rams in next year’s draft.

Do you think Stafford could’ve beat New England in the 2019 Super Bowl without Kupp, Gurley?

I do think Goff could’ve won last year, with Kupp, OBJ, et al.

Rams have lost 6 straight.  8 of their last 9.

Loss in Tampa really killed the season… Rams just needed to move the chains once in the 4th qtr to seal a win.   Huge turning point in the season….

Yes, good game by Wagner, Powell

Wolford doesn’t have an NFL arm

too bad the defense couldn’t snuff that Seattle game winning drive….

Perkins lacks zip in his passes… picks were and are inevitable…..

    Their red-zone defense played a very good….this game could’ve been a laugher….

Rams had 13 first downs… and 27 mins of possession…. it seemed a lot less.

    Seattle is next…

Contact Sam Bradford’s agent… he’s about Stafford’s age and accurate.

    Wolford and Perkins stink…

i remember when this play happened; that it might affect Stafford’s head… sadly it’s true.

    Stafford officially out in KC.

I can’t believe McVay and the Rams contingency plan at QB are undrafted players that fail to deliver…….. Wolford and Perkins…. I have not seen these guys ever look good.

McVay must have really really hated Goff to start Wolford vs Seattle in 2020.

Akers, Goff, Henderson,…. McVay has not shown the best people skills when handling personnel moves.

Spagnolo’s revenge this Sunday… he’s gonna feast…. spread still only 14.5… i expect it to go to at least 18.

that’s why those early to mid 1980’s Rams teams were so underrated…  Defense, special teams, OL and Dickerson carried, Kemp, Dieter, Dills….. that ain’t the case with 2022 .

B2B losses to McCoy and Dalton… next week it’s Mahomes.

I think a journeyman back up QB could’ve been the  difference the past 2 weeks

I know the line has been bad but Arizona’s line was in worse shape last week when they faced Aaron Donald.

The Rams can’t run the ball

but they continue to show the run and still try to run the ball… and get consistently stuffed…. that 4th qtr in Tampa Bay was stupid.

Yes Kendrick major liability today.. and Stafford was rattled.

that was a playoff game, and the Rams lost……. I think that was the season.

the law of averages catching up to McVay… you can’t be perfect forever when leading games at halftime…

    Thank you John Hadl.

URL = The Worst Draft Trades in NFL History – The Grueling Truth

    4) Packers trade two first-rounders, two second-rounders and a third-rounder to Los Angeles for John Hadl:

This trade was probably the biggest panic trade in NFL history. For the first six games of the 1974 season, Jerry Tagge was, without question, the worst starting quarterback in professional football. Green Bay’s 24-year-old passer — the 11th pick of the 1972 draft — had a 36.0 passer rating and had thrown one touchdown and 10 interceptions. Somehow the Packers were 3-3, leading some — including head coach and general manager Dan Devine — to believe that the only thing standing between the Pack and a playoff berth was an upgrade under center.

Five picks for one tired passer.

In 1973, Hadl had been a hero for Los Angeles. Chuck Knox’s club finished with an NFC-best 12-2 record that season and Hadl posted the best touchdown-to-interception ratio of his career (22-11). The Rams were knocked off by Dallas in the playoffs (Hadl completed 7-of-23 passes in a 27-16 loss) and early into the next season, Hadl fell out of favor in Los Angeles.

Still, to team owner Carroll Rosenbloom, trading his popular passer was a risk, regardless of what the other side had offered. “I’ve been heartsick about the Hadl thing all week,” Rosenbloom said after the trade. “It’s a gamble for us. I guess the fans will fire me if I’m wrong.”

Rumors swirled that the Packers had dealt for damaged goods. Some suggested the reason for Hadl’s woes was a bum throwing arm. “Chuck Knox knows my arm’s OK,” Hadl told reporters. “Ask him and he’ll tell you.” Packers fans had already seen the arm up close; Hadl completed just 6-of-16 passes and was benched in a Week Five loss to Green Bay in 1974. The idea the team would trade for him just 10 days later was puzzling.

Rams general manager Don Klosterman used Green Bay’s first-round pick of 1975 (No. 9 overall) to select defensive lineman Mike Fanning, who gave the team eight solid seasons. Klosterman used the remaining picks from the trade to assemble the core of Los Angeles’ secondary for the next few seasons: Monte Jackson, Pat Thomas and Nolan Cromwell (via a trade using another of Green Bay’s picks). With the rest of its picks in those two drafts, Los Angeles shored up its offensive line by drafting OG Dennis Harrah and OTs Doug France and Jackie Slater. These players would be instrumental in the Rams continued playoff success and an eventual appearance in Super Bowl XIV.

The Packers headed in the opposite direction. Hadl guided Green Bay to victory in three of his first four appearances, but the team lost its final three games in 1974 to finish 6-8. Hadl threw two interceptions in each of the final two losses — games decided by seven points or less. The next season, Hadl threw six touchdown passes and 21 interceptions. By 1976, he was no longer welcome in Green Bay. He finished his 16-year pro career as a backup with the Houston Oilers in ’76 and ’77 before retiring.

A day after the Packers wrapped up their 1974 season, Devine announced to reporters he was going to replace Ara Parseghian as the next coach at Notre Dame. He got off easy. His replacement, Bart Starr, was not so fortunate. In nine seasons, he led Green Bay to just one winning record (8-7-1 in 1978) — this from the former field general who had lost only one playoff game in 10 starts.

The deal not only handicapped Starr’s coaching career — it injured Hadl’s legacy. The six-time Pro Bowler is often remembered more for the trade that brought him to Green Bay than for helping Sid Gillman to revolutionize the passing game during their nine seasons together in San Diego

    Three major moments
… that each were deciding factors in the game:

No. 1: The Rams/Ramsey forced a McCaffrey fumble that bounced directly into the hands of receiver Ray-Ray McCloud in the third quarter. They scored their go-ahead touchdown (the scramble drill on third down) a few plays later.

No. 2: The Rams offense went three-and-out on the other side of that sequence; Stafford was sacked for a 9-yard loss on third down.

“We had a chance to make a couple of plays, we didn’t make it,” McVay said. “They ended up making plays offensively, sustaining possession and then coming away with points in the red area, and then your margin for error gets that much smaller.”

No. 3: Tyler Higbee dropped a pass on third-and-3 in the fourth quarter, on a play that possibly would never have been needed had receiver Allen Robinson not been flagged for “taunting” earlier in the series (he pointed the first-down conversion after a first-down catch; taunting is a dumb penalty regardless of the team it’s called against). The play was well-designed and Higbee had nothing but open field in front of him for yards and yards, but he dropped the pass. Stafford took the blame for it postgame, saying he should have led Higbee with the ball, but Higbee pointed back at himself.

“Didn’t make the play,” he told me. “Got to make that play, and I did not.”

For some reason, the Rams can’t execute in key moments vs SF throughout this regular season losing streak…… whether it’s a sure dropped pick 6 from Dante Fowler and Samson Ebukan in 2019 and by Leonard Floyd 2020.

Many times, the Rams have had SF by the throat, but for some reason, they can’t put them away……… If the Rams win half these games, Shanahan might’ve been fired by now…   had the Rams won these two games this season, Shanahan’s job would be hanging by a thread today…

Niners have lost to some not so good teams this year (Chi, Den, and ATL) when these teams were at low points in their season…SF is a very beatable team.

For some reason McVay doesn’t seem to be thinking clearly enough to call a game plan vs Shanahan…. e.g, even when the game was over this past Sunday…., he risks his star WR in a meaningless play that results in a badly twisted ankle for Kupp…

The emotions seem to get the best of McVay when he faces Shanahan.

    hello OZ,

I too was there on Sunday… is that place awesome or what?

We’ve been going to 2 home games per season since they’ve been back….  (we went to the ATL game in week II)

SoFi IS the place to be…. i’ve reached my game quota for the year, but i love that place so much that I’m tempted to go Nov 13 vs the Cards for a 3rd home game this season..

BTW, i also attended the SF game at Levi this year.

They were in STL for 22 years.. we need to make up for lost time to see them play home games…

i went to the Panthers / Rams game on Sunday…    i keyed on Jerimiah Kolone alot of the game…. he wiffed a lot of blocks and got manhandled early on but got better as the game progressed…

When defense took the field, the coaches sat with Kolone with their computer tablet to constantly review and coach up the 3rd string center…. coaches constantly worked with the OL, especially Kolone while the defense took the field.

mis-direction blocks seemed to work to help the Rams move the ball in the 2nd half

Ironically, 2 false start penalties were on the veteran Havenstein… not sure if the delay of game penalties were because of Kolone or Stafford…

I’m pulling hard for this Kolone kid… i remember him very well from SJSU and remember when he broke his leg his senior year… he played all OL positions at SJSU…

Went undrafted, signed with Rams on practice squad in 2019.. kept getting cut.. he then  went  back home San Diego to join the police force.. he was half way through the police academy when the Rams called him back last year for the practice squad for the SB run (those guys get a ring too)

This year, he got the gig and some serious play time… I hope this “Rudy” story works out for him….

Matt threw to 8 different Ram receivers and 1 Panther today

despite the irritating pick 6, Matt had a good game against a  good pass rush. Rams also ran the ball pretty well….. over 100 yds

I know Carolina is struggling but not a bad game for the Rams considering their patched OL

Rams have Panthers, bye, Niners, Bucs, Cards, Saints and KC next…

If Stafford stays healthy they will be 7-4 at the start of Dec.

these losses to Dal and SF were winnable even with a porous line against very good defenses….

when does OBJ’s knee get fixed?
