InvaderRamModeratoris that another way of saying he needs to adjust to the speed of the nfl game?
InvaderRamModeratorhmmm…
well pff says he ran outside zone.
henderson’s coaches said he ran outside zone.
https://theramswire.usatoday.com/2019/05/14/nfl-rams-darrell-henderson-college-coach-fit/amp/
InvaderRamModeratori agree with much of what jeff says.
InvaderRamModeratorDick Vermeil is one of his mentors…… I can see that
yeah. i see some vermeil in him. wasn’t surprised to read that.
and i do worry that mcvay burns out with the rams.
i hope not.
InvaderRamModeratorDarrell Henderson has admitted difficulty adapting to a zone heavy Rams’ scheme after running mostly gap runs at Memphis. Zone runs rely on vision, processing & patient, controlled footwork to access whichever hole pops open. Pre-Week 1 showed DH has much work to do.
i thought he ran in a zone scheme in college?
InvaderRamModeratoreverything about rapp stands out except for the 40 time.
so hopefully he’s like an anquan boldin who also ran a 4.7 40 and dominates the league e en though he’s not a track athlete.
so far so good.
InvaderRamModeratoryeah. i wasn’t really paying attention to be honest, but the oline is definitely something to keep an eye on. some interesting prospects to keep an eye on for the future for sure.
InvaderRamModeratorgarsh. i was so distracted, and it was hard for me to concentrate on the game.
i heard rapp’s name mentioned a lot. sounds like he was making quite the impression.
that’s about it. henderson’s stats weren’t all that impressive, but he was running behind the backup oline. so looks like we’ll have to wait until week one.
InvaderRamModeratorRams OLB Dante Fowler had standout day against the Raiders in combined practice. Fowler had at least four sacks…
The rest of that:
Lindsey Thiry@LindseyThiry
…. Fowler had at least four sacks, as he and Aaron Donald kept a constant presence in the backfield. “He’s doing great,” Donald said. “Making a lot of good plays and rushing the passer great.”hmmm….
InvaderRamModeratorit seems like i’m always reading good things about fowler.
what a development that would be.
InvaderRamModerator1. i like how they’re managing gurley’s reps. obviously anything can happen, but i hope gurley has another strong 3-4 years left in him.
2. love what i’m reading about goff. sounds like he’s taking the next steps in his development.
3. kupp sounds like he’s on track. goff’s play really dropped off after he went out. it’ll be good to have him back.
InvaderRamModeratorhmmm
david long fourth string.
i was hoping to hear more positive things about him in training camp.
InvaderRamModeratori’m imagining a safety duo of jj and rapp in the near future.
InvaderRamModeratorApparently Edwards is a quick learner.
yeah. and if i remember correctly, this is a guy who went through a couple position switches in college?
InvaderRamModeratori like the evans pick as well.

InvaderRamModeratordoes this offense have a chance to be even better than the previous two years? Yes. Specifically situationally/more diverse/and against certain defensive looks that gave them issues last year
yeah. if everett develops like he has been. and if henderson is the real deal, then goff and mcvay should have more options at their disposal.
if noteboom and allen pan out.

InvaderRamModeratorI think that’s a bs narrative.
i think there’s an assumption that goff really is a product of the system.
i don’t personally buy that. but that’s the perception, and maybe along with that, he won’t be able to carry the team when he takes up more salary cap space.
again. i don’t agree with that. i think he’s not close to reaching his peak yet.
InvaderRamModeratordepending on how noteboom performs this season, i’m hoping he eventually becomes the replacement for whit.
and what better way to transition than to play alongside him for the season.
InvaderRamModeratorThat would be pretty sweet if it is even close to true
this isn’t the first time we’ve read positive reviews on fowler’s training camp.
and while gurley’s comments might be a little over the top, it does give me hope that fowler and matthews might be the outside pass rush this team needs.

Noteboom looked very good with his movement on runs to the right. Both he and Allen have looked just fine so far. IMO Allen will be an upgrade to Sullivan. Allen is quicker with much better overall speed to get into the second level, which is something the center must do in this scheme. The same can be said with Noteboom, he appears more mobile and quicker than Saffold. Whit is just amazing. The dude just doesn’t age. He might want to come back next year too. Whit is totally energized and a complete technician at his craft.

well. we’ll see when the real games begin.
but i like what i’ve been reading.

InvaderRamModeratorWoods said McVay is giving Goff half of the play call before the 15 sec mark now and telling him to work it out on his own. He’s putting more on Goff and Goff is getting it.
love reading stuff like this. and it just reinforces my belief that the rams really hit on mcvay. and it gives me hope that goff just continues to rise.
also wondering if the oline, particularly noteboom and allen, get reps in the preseason games.
InvaderRamModerator1. i hope todd can stay healthy for the whole season.
2. it feels good to have the best player in the league.

InvaderRamModeratorSean McVay says he’s more twitchy in his upper body and flicking passes that used to require a tiny windup.
that should make it harder for defenses to get a jump on the ball.
InvaderRamModeratorTorry was slobbering all over Donald. Said he has everything, reached the top, and doesn’t slack one bit, keeps learning every day. Said AD will be in the class with Deacon and Merlin. The all time great Rams.
drool. the greatest ram i’ve ever seen.

InvaderRamModerator@sj39 was a tank and a shining light at a time of such darkness for the franchise.

InvaderRamModeratori hope that henderson is the real deal, and i hope that he can develop joseph-day and/or gaines into a solid nose tackle.
that’d be so cool.
InvaderRamModeratorone of my favorite rams of all time.
i can only imagine what numbers he woulda put up in mcvay’s offense.
InvaderRamModeratorDH does sound like he’s big in their plans
mcvay always seems to throw in a wrinkle each season.
InvaderRamModeratorreally like what i’m reading about henderson.
can’t wait to see him in preseason.
