i thought robinson did a good job wiping out that entire left side. cunningham just had to beat that linebacker and then it was tons of open field.

it does come off to me as coming to the right situation at the right time.

walton had pretty much the same defense, but williams comes at a time when ogletree and brockers should have breakout years. and then to top that off, they add one of the more pro-ready defensive tackles in recent memory basically as a gift. not to mention joyner.

if the defense blows up, this will inflate his ego even more.

if the defense flops, i think his reputation takes a huge hit.

my projections for him this season are:

    300-500 3500 yards 27 tds 10 ints 90.9 qb rating.

90.9 was what he had last year which ranked 11th among qbs last year.

they’re all sons of bitches. but williams probably is moreso than the average nfl coach.

he IS from the buddy ryan coaching tree after all… that goes for fisher too.

if stacy can stay healthy. if he could just stay healthy. this guy is gonna be something else. just great running instincts. harder to bring down than jackson. and then everything else should fall into place. bradford. the wrs. he’s just gotta stay healthy.

i remember ogletree having problems shedding blocks. what are camp observers’ impressions on how much ogletree has improved in this regard?

also. i’ve read that ogletree has spent some time working with the dline on pass rush moves. have any of the camp observers’ taken note of this?

oh dear. greg is looking to hurt someone on friday…

something tells me he’s a completely different player when full contact is involved.

really liked the comments on robinson, mason, and austin. offense should be very much improved from last year.

what do people think of the new rule changes and the impact that will have on tavon?

i figure the new rule changes WILL help austin. with dbs not allowed to be as physical it should help a jitterbug type like tavon.

i also believe bailey is the guy to step. it’ll be austin and bailey. with quick or britt making a very effective third wr.

i also think that brockers dominates. it won’t just be donald. he’s the new guy, and understandably, people are excited. but brockers has come in the best shape of his life. he didn’t come in with the technical proficiency that donald does. but people forget. brockers is only 6 months older than donald. he came in as a young raw physical specimen. i fully expect him to have a breakout year. and then combined with donald, this dline should be frightening.

not sure i like this rule change. i’d like to see a rule change favor the defense for a change.

i think it also says something about the wr corps too though. more experience. more confidence. i think they’re more capable of helping bradford out.

givens sounds like a disappointment. but austin, bailey, quick… sounds like they have all upped their game. this should make everything sharper. bradford can get the ball out faster. without hesitation. knowing that his receivers will be where they’re supposed to be.

aaron donald. sounds too good to be true. can’t believe the first preseason game is less than a week away.

yeah. between coach o and franke, bailey sounds like one to watch as is ogletree.

robinson still very much a work in progress. although i think things would look very different in pads and full contact.

great to hear about bailey. sucks that he’ll miss the four games. but i had a feeling. i think a lot of us did. that he could be the guy to step up. ultimately, i think he will be the one.

also great to hear about ogletree. he was a playmaker extraordinaire last year. i expect that to get better his second year under williams. good stuff.

i’d like to see a lot of austin and bailey this season. that’d be entertaining i think.

nice reports. many thanks to the guys who take the time to do this. it’s nice comparing all of them and taking in each of their insights on each player. it’s nice to be able to compare the different opinions and kind of get a general picture.

collectively it seems like the front seven looks as advertised. the secondary is still shaky. the offensive line is murky although it looks like robinson is improving steadily. disappointed in barrett jones. wide receivers look like they may be a pleasant surprise, and the running backs look solid. especially stacy.

even with all the talk about quick, i think the offense is gonna have to rely on the 3 guys entering their sophomore season – stacy, austin, and bailey.

how much they can improve will go a long way in determining how good this offense can become. unfortunately, one of them will be gone for the first four games.

what really surprises me is that britt seems to be having a positive impact on the wr corps.

    who woulda thunk?

also wondering why jimi lists brian quick as a wr/te. will he be playing some tight end this season?

what makes you think that? i don’t know either way. but what would draw you to that conclusion?

that would be huge regarding the secondary. i see that as the only weak link for this defense.

also good stuff on robinson. tend to forget that he is relatively inexperienced. he’s a smart guy. not just physically gifted. can’t wait to see him in a couple weeks.

i think that the safeties will be fine. i think one of mcdonald/alexander emerge as a serious strong safety prospect. and i think they will find a free safety prospect from the group they have or maybe in the later rounds of next year’s draft. but yeah. corner is looking right now as a target for the rams front office to really attack.

of course this could all change by the end of the season but jenkins and johnson do not sound like they are impressing anyone. either that or the wr group is a lot better than we expected. i mean i think it is, but not THIS good. i like joyner. but that’s about it. i hope things turn around.

the indifference is astounding. just unbelievable. i don’t want to judge rice. i don’t want to say he has no remorse or if he is acting like nothing happened.

but the punishment is unreal. he needs to have a punishment appropriate for what happened. it’s unacceptable.

also. contrast that with the wr group. where it seems to be nothing but positive vibes despite a young group of guys.

When Brockers got here, he looked like a big kid who was just starting to grow into his body. Now he has the look of a grown man, and I expect him to have a dominant year.

As is the case with much of the 1st unit D-Line, they are giving the make shift O-Line all it can handle. No worries from me about Brockers.

yeah. this is what i’ve been expecting. i think the d tackles are catching up with the d ends this year.

the secondary is worrisome. i haven’t really read too much of anything outside of joyner that has me excited. the one thing that could hold this d back.
