InvaderRamModeratorAfter just 9 games, Matthew Stafford has already thrown more touchdown passes against the blitz than all but two quarterbacks in a season in the last decade.
His 20 such touchdown passes are nearly double the 2nd-highest total in 2025 (Jalen Hurts, 11).
so i’m guessing it’s due to two factors? one being better protection. the other being davante adams?
i wonder how many of adams’ 9 tds have been against the blitz.
or is it in part due to the 13 personnel. i’d like to see someone break that down.

InvaderRamModerator“You’re only 37, you got at least another 8 years to play so, I can’t wait to watch all of them.”
i’ve been wondering for some time how much stafford has left in the tank.
i think he could easily play another three years after this season bringing his time with the rams to eight years. if he could do ten more, even better. rams might be better off just restocking the roster around stafford and just play him until he can’t or doesn’t want to play anymore.
InvaderRamModeratorrams look like they get better every week. i still am far from convinced by the kicking game. but i think that’s the only thing holding them back. that and kyren’s fumbling.
stafford looks as good as i’ve ever seen him playing for the rams. i hope he can play until he’s 40.
InvaderRamModeratorstafford looks like a legit mvp candidate.
offense looks solid. stafford able to spread the ball around.
defense gave up some cheap scores.
still not convinced by the st unit. that seems like the main thing holding the rams back from a super bowl run.
InvaderRamModeratorfalcons lose again. i like morris, but rams getting a top 10 pick next year would be nice.
InvaderRamModeratorThe biggest problem seems to me to be blocking on field goals.
yes which is why i say the kicking game as a whole. it’s not just karty. he’s not the main culprit. just as a whole they cannot get it together. if it was just the kicker, i’d see some way out of it. but the problem is pervasive.
InvaderRamModeratorit’s the worst kicking game i’ve ever seen?
so bad i think it’ll prevent the rams from going deep in the playoffs.
and how do you even fix that in the middle of a season?
InvaderRamModeratorIn any event, the final score is more indicative of poor Jaguar performance than Rams domination.
i agree. rams did not look great. maybe the defense was good. just need to get healthier now.
InvaderRamModeratorTodd Gurley unfortunately. He is STILL 3rd in the league in rushing touchdowns since 2015

InvaderRamModeratorthe rams played terrible. fortunately the ravens were even worse. maybe one good quarter. i’d say the defense played well, but was it more a case of the ravens offense playing poorly?
but i do believe they can get better. i don’t know what’s wrong with the kicking game. i don’t know if it’s karty or the unit as a whole. i just hope it gets fixed.
InvaderRamModeratorhopefully the rams can stop shooting themselves in the foot. should win this game.
InvaderRamModeratorrams gave the game away.
what a shame.
InvaderRamModeratorAnd I’m sure you’ll agree, but in the middle of all that, the Rams also made plays…it’s not like they just coasted.
oh definitely. i said before stafford off to the best start of his career since the superbowl winning season. the colts game was probably the best game he’s had so far this season. puka off to a record start. he was clutch in this game especially the first half. kyren looked strong running the ball as you said. curl had an amazing game.
lots of positives here.
InvaderRamModeratori didn’t realize this at the time, but the colts only had ten men on the field on the tutu td. add to the fact that tutu’s defender tripped over himself. the rams were even luckier than i thought.
i knew about the two mitchell mistakes and that was bad enough.
this might be worse than the two blocked fgs on the rams.
InvaderRamModeratorstafford off to his best start since the superbowl season.
offense probably the best it’s looked so far this season. although i haven’t seen the philly game in its entirety. hopefully the offense continues to gel especially as adams gets comfortable.
InvaderRamModeratori haven’t seen them play, but from afar it doesn’t seem like anyone stands out.
i wonder if stafford has three or four more seasons in him. he looked good today.
maybe grab a receiver next year. davante on a two year contract. rams are gonna need a right tackle too. and a corner.
InvaderRamModeratorincredibly lucky.
but maybe unlucky previous week?
so maybe it all evens out in the end.

InvaderRamModeratorthis is the best i’ve seen him play at the beginning of the season in a long while.
i don’t want anymore slow starts for this team. next week will be huge.
may stafford have a strong season and play many more years for the rams.
InvaderRamModeratorplayed much better in the second half. if they can get through the first five games ok, i can see them making a run.
InvaderRamModeratori missed the entire game. hopefully, i’ll be able to watch the replay.
InvaderRamModeratori don’t know much about football, but in the two preseason games i saw, he seemed to be very fearless and surprisingly physical.
i think the two biggest knocks on him were size and age (he’ll be 24 next month). but athletically he’s right up there.
could be the steal of the rookie class. another london fletcher?
InvaderRamModeratorStu Jackson@StuJRams
Sean McVay on Shaun Dolac not playing today vs. Browns:“It’s a good sign for him” heading into 53-man roster deadline Tuesday. “We’ll continue to evaluate, but he’s done a really good job.”
Said Dolac has made his presence felt on special teams, praised his understanding of Rams defense.
awesome. i’m rooting for him. i’ll root for everyone of course, but he’s definitely one of my favorites from this rookie class.
InvaderRamModeratori’m happy for him. worried that the rams would just drag it out and let him go. a joy to watch.

InvaderRamModeratorJordan Whittington continues pushing for WR3
Whittington had a great day, I’d expect him to make a solid push for WR3 this seasonTerrance Ferguson looked like a big body receiver
i’m hoping the rams don’t have to rely on the wr3 that much and they’re mostly playing 12 personnel.
InvaderRamModeratorguys i’m most interested in watching this year.
1. verse. i know he won rookie of the year but can we expect him to make a significant leap in development. this typically happens in the second third years for d linemen.
2. fiske. see number 1.
3. forbes. cornerbacks are a little worrisome. so if the hype is real with this guy, then he could be one of the two final pieces of the puzzle which brings me to.
4. pooh paul vs dolac. paul jr would seem to be the better prospect since he was actually drafted and he played in the sec, but dolac’s athletic numbers and actual production seem to go be him the edge. i really like dolac, and i’m hoping for the next london fletcher. both have intangibles which are off the charts.
5. ferguson. even if they don’t run more 12 personnel, i’m worried about higbee, and how much he can contribute this year even though he should completely recovered from the acl.
6. josaiah stewart. i really liked this draft. even if he doesn’t start he should be a big contributor.
7. hunter. i really really liked this draft. can we finally get some more explosion in the running game? i still like williams and i’m sure he gets the bulk of the carries. but it’d be cool to see some explosives in the run game.
8. poona ford. i keep reading about what an underrated signing he was, but i’ve never seen him play.
9. adams. the obvious one. high profile signing. maybe the highest profile fa signing this year? he’s gotta be better than the 2024 version of kupp. and like that podcast from another thread states, adams and nacua could compliment each other better than kupp and nacua did. also haven’t seen him play much.

InvaderRamModeratoranother play they reference.

InvaderRamModeratorThat vid is about as good as it gets. You know the Rams better from watching it.
i don’t know if this has been posted, but this is a video that this podcast refers to. armstead on verse.
InvaderRamModeratori’d put london fletcher much much higher on that list.
InvaderRamModeratori’m guessing landman starts and then a competition between speights, paul jr, and dolac. that’ll be one to watch. i don’t know. i like paul jr too. and speights surprised last season. dolac might have the most upside. athletic numbers wise he has a slight edge while all three have the intangibles.
this position and the cornerback position should be the most interesting.
also gonna watch ferguson closely.
