AgamemnonParticipantGurley, Woods & Watkins Reach Fastest Speeds in Week 9
Posted 5 hours ago

The Rams boasted three of the fastest ball carriers in Week 9. According to the NFL’s Senior Director of Communications, Randall Liu, wide receivers Robert Woods and Sammy Watkins, along with running back Todd Gurley were three of only five players to reach 20-plus miles per hour on Sunday.
Gurley was the first player to reach the top speed during the team’s opening drive. On a 36-yard run, the Georgia product reached 20.62 mph — the fastest speed reached by any player during the game.
Next up for Los Angeles was a 52-yard touchdown from Woods. On 3rd-and-33, quarterback Jared Goff hit Woods with a screen pass hoping to gain enough yards to pull the Rams within field goal range. But the former USC standout turned on the jets, reaching 20.43 mph to convert the third down into a touchdown.
Watkins also showed off his quickness during a 67-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Goff’s pass traveled 61.8 yards through the air before Watkins grabbed it and ran the rest of the way into the end zone, travelling at 20.33 mph in the process.
“Jared let it go with great anticipation and then Sammy, you see the elite speed down the field,” head coach Sean McVay said of the play. “What a great catch and throw especially in the elements — it was a big-time play.”

AgamemnonParticipantIn college he was like 28 and 3. Mannion was like 58 and 14? I will look it up.
.
.
.
Fisher talks about both QBs in his post draft conferences as one of the reasons they selected them.
Snead said that Goff was like 49 and 2(5 would = 89%) TDs to Ints. in the red zone in college. Mannion was like plus 20.(23 and 3 in 2015?) It was one of the things they liked about Mannion.
.
Anyway, they are both pretty good in the Red Zone.

This stat shows how reliable Rams receivers have been for Jared Goff

The Rams had one of the worst receiving corps in the NFL last season, and it was reflected in their 31st-ranked passing attack. They put a whole lot of effort into revamping it this offseason by bringing in Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, Sammy Watkins and Gerald Everett.
Their aggressiveness and willingness to surround Jared Goff with better playmakers has paid dividends with the Rams ranking 12th in passing yards. Goff has obviously played a huge role in that, looking far better than he did last season, but his receivers are giving him a lot of help, too.
According to ESPN, Goff has had only 1.4 percent of his passes dropped, which is the third-lowest mark in the NFL. For comparison’s sake, Brian Hoyer has the highest at 7.3 percent.

Kupp and Everett, two rookies, lead the Rams with two drops each. Sammy Watkins is third with one drop, giving the Rams five total on the year. That’s low for a team with as many young pass-catchers as L.A. has.

AgamemnonParticipantI think Higbee and Carrier are just better at blocking. I think Higbee is doing pretty good as a blocker. Focus on him in some of the past games. I think that is why they are playing more than Everett. Higbee’s pass catching will come around. Him and Goff just need to get more in sync. imo
.
They are two different type TEs. Maybe McVay likes Higbee’s skill set better for the past few teams? Or who plays on Special Teams more?
