AgamemnonParticipantI don’t see how they could afford both Suh and Donald.
And I don’t see him as a fit. In Wade’s D he would be a 3-tech, which is AD’s position.
Brockers wasn’t a fit at NT so I don’t see the advantage of putting Suh at DE.
This whole thing is just several differently shaped pegs for one round hole.
…
Suh just doesn’t excite me. Donald is better. I would rather have a NT.
AgamemnonParticipantYeah but the 49ers still have Garrapolo,
who beat the crap out of Chuck Norris
from what i heard.w
v
He is even better looking than Tom Brady. He makes Goff look like Eddie Haskell.

I think people are down on Higbee, not Everett.

Rams Have Nine Picks in 2018 NFL Draft
Posted 59 minutes ago
Kristen Lago Rams Writer/Reporter @kristennlago
The Rams made several important transactions at the start of the new league year on Wednesday that have shaken up the club’s 2018 draft order.
Los Angeles acquired two fourth- and sixth-round selections in the 2018 Draft in exchange for middle linebacker Alec Ogletree and outside linebacker Robert Quinn, who will be heading to the Giants and the Dolphins, respectively.
The Rams also acquired cornerback Aqib Talib from the Broncos for a 2018 fifth-round draft pick. And they sent a 2018 fourth-round pick and a 2019 second-round pick to the Chiefs in exchange for cornerback Marcus Peters and a 2018 sixth-round selection. The club subsequently sent the Chiefs sixth-round pick to Miami.
Last season, the club also acquired another sixth-round pick from the Bills in a trade involving wide receiver Sammy Watkins, cornerback E.J. Gaines, and the Rams 2018 second-round draft pick.
Finally, the Rams sent their 2018 seventh-round pick to the Redskins in exchange for tight end Derek Carries, but they hold an additional sixth-round selection via the Lions from a trade involving left tackle Greg Robinson.
Here’s the full rundown of where L.A. will be picking in April’s draft:
Round 1 — No. 23
Round 3 — No. 87
Round 4 — No. 111 from Dolphins
Round 4 — No. 135 from Giants
Round 6 — No. 176 from Giants
Round 6 — No. 183 from Dolphins
Round 6 — No. 194 from Lions
Round 6 — No. 195 from Bills
Round 6 — No. 198

I think I got it.
AgamemnonParticipantJust like Carrier, I could be wrong on the numbers, but he may be getting $10 million plus a year, but we have to wait to hear in the figures and all.
http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/jacksonville-jaguars/cody-davis-12975/
Cody Davis signed a 2 year, $5,000,000 contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, including a $1,000,000 signing bonus, $2,500,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $2,500,000. In 2018, Davis will earn a base salary of $1,500,000 and a signing bonus of $1,000,000, while carrying a cap hit of $2,000,000 and a dead cap value of $2,500,000.

AgamemnonParticipantIncidentally — and this is the part I don't have total specifics on yet — "achievable" incentives still have to count against a cap hit, so Tavon's cap hit still could be high. Cap $ could be recovered if he doesn't reach incentives.

AgamemnonParticipantSo does that mean he’s on a one year deal? That could be a good situation I guess. I think we’ve seen enough of Austin to know that he won’t be replacing Watkins (not that anyone suggested that he would be replacing Watkins) but it’s good have a speedster on the roster. Also, he does have some ability to play RB if needed, but I hope the Rams find another option to go with Malcolm Brown this year.
Yeah, a one year deal. This might make him easier to trade?
March 15, 2018 at 9:02 pm in reply to: sources say the Rams are now intent on keeping Tavon Austin #84091
AgamemnonParticipantTavon Austin remaining with #Rams after restructuring his contract
— Vincent Bonsignore (@DailyNewsVinny) March 16, 2018
FYI on #Rams & Austin: $5m roster bonus intact. $3m base salary now becomes entirely inventive based. Remaining years on contract eliminated
— Vincent Bonsignore (@DailyNewsVinny) March 16, 2018
On #Rams/Austin there was mutual consensus from team and player that a healthy, full offseason in Sean McVay’s offense could be beneficial
— Vincent Bonsignore (@DailyNewsVinny) March 16, 2018
Tavon gets one more chance to make it in McVay’s offense.

AgamemnonParticipantWe already did this way back when. But they kind of have it backwards. It isn’t the constraint of the top players, it is the constraint of being able to field a full 53 man roster that really determines the cap make up. By the time you add the number of players needed to field a full roster, you are left with and excess of ~50% – 64% to spend on your best players. The market value of your best players determines the number of players you fit in with your excess funds. It can be 8, 10, 12, etc.
AgamemnonParticipanthttp://www.spotrac.com/nfl/oakland-raiders/derek-carrier-10534/
Derek Carrier signed a 3 year, $5,500,000 contract with the Oakland Raiders, including $1,900,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,833,333. In 2018, Carrier will earn a base salary of $1,150,000 and a roster bonus of $750,000, while carrying a cap hit of $1,900,000 and a dead cap value of $1,900,000.

AgamemnonParticipantLos Angeles Rams’ 2018 free agency: Nickell Robey-Coleman completes elite CB trio
6:31 PM CTAlden GonzalezESPN Staff Writer
A breakdown of the Los Angeles Rams’ 2018 free-agent signings:
Nickell Robey-Coleman, CBThe Rams checked an important, under-the-radar item off their to-do list when they brought back slot corner Nickell Robey-Coleman with a three-year contract on Tuesday. The deal is worth about $15.75 million with $8 million guaranteed, according to NFL.com. Here’s a closer look at the signing:
Nickell Robey-Coleman graded 19th out of 121 cornerbacks in 2017, according to Pro Football Focus. AP Photo/Marcio Jose SanchezGrade: B+. Robey-Coleman, listed at 5-foot-8 and 178 pounds, is a little undersized for the outside. But he is very adept in the slot. And with Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters already on board, that’s probably where Robey-Coleman will play exclusively.
What it means: The Rams’ secondary has made a complete 180, from barren at the start of the offseason to quite possibly the NFL’s best before the start of the new league year. Their two starting corners, Peters and Talib, have combined for seven Pro Bowl appearances. Robey-Coleman was graded 19th among 121 corners by Pro Football Focus last season. Behind them are Kayvon Webster, Sam Shields, Troy Hill and Kevin Peterson, four solid depth pieces.
What’s the risk: The only real risk here is that it further cuts into the Rams’ cap room and keeps them from adding other players — specifically, edge-rushers, run-stuffers, a center and, now that Sammy Watkins is gone, potentially a wide receiver. The Rams will be at roughly $30 million in cap space once they cut ties with wide receiver Tavon Austin. They can save an additional $3.5 million or so if they let go of Webster, who is recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon.

AgamemnonParticipantThe roster bonus is due the 16th, so it might make a difference when he might get traded.
So you can trade away a guaranteed roster bonus? Or does it just disappear?
It doesn’t disappear. It is part of the contract. The contract follows the player. If he got traded before the 16th, the roster bonus would follow him, if after, it will have been paid. imo
