AgamemnonParticipantRefocused, NFL Week 15: Philadelphia Eagles 30, Los Angeles Rams 23
By PFF Analysis Team • Dec 17, 2018
Keys to the Game
Philadelphia
It was a vital win for the Eagles in order to keep pace with the Cowboys in the division, while also trying to keep their wild card hopes alive. They scored three times on the ground and Jefferey had a big game, catching all eight of his targets.
Los Angeles
The Rams may have outgained the Eagles, but the three turnovers put the game too far out of their reach.

AgamemnonParticipantThat will happen when they sign Goff.
IMO it won’t even happen then. Without signing Goff about 60% of their cap goes to about 10 players. With Goff it will be a total of 8 or 9. But the other 6 or 7 will be different at that point than now.
Teams show all the time that you can pay off your qb with big bucks and still contend. That’s true of the Saints, Seattle, the Chargers, and Steelers for example.
Right now they have no blue players and the top 10 take up 55%. I think Goff will make a difference. You know his fifth year option will be ~$25 million.

AgamemnonParticipantBTW…I didn’t see it…I read it in the play-by-play…did the Rams really go for it on 4th down from their own 30?
They did a fake FG, pass, it was close though.

AgamemnonParticipant3 Rams among PFF's top 25 offensive linemen in NFL this season
3 Rams among PFF’s top 25 offensive linemen in NFL this season
Aside from the struggles the Los Angeles Rams’ offensive line has had in the past few weeks, the unit has been phenomenal this season. Guys like Andrew Whitworth, Austin Blythe and Rob Havenstein have provided outstanding protection for Jared Goff, while also opening up huge running lanes for Todd Gurley.
The offensive line is part of the reason the Rams’ offense has been so explosive this year, ranking third in points and yardage. Pro Football Focus has recognized the Rams’ line throughout the season, most recently ranking three players among the 25 best linemen in the NFL for 2018.
Havenstein was the top-ranked Ram on the list, checking in at No. 10 with an overall grade of 81.1.
Havenstein isn’t going to overpower a lot of people, but he’s as consistent and technically sound as any tackle in the league. The former second-rounder has only allowed three combined sacks and hits all season.
Just behind him at No. 11 is Whitworth, who has an overall grade of 81.1. He continues to be one of the best left tackles in the NFL, despite being 37 years old.
Closing in on his 37th birthday, Whitworth is doing things that offensive tackles aren’t supposed to do. As fellow 36-year old left tackle Jason Peters has seen his body break down and play slip in recent years, Whitworth continues to churn out dominance. He hasn’t had a single game with a below average pass-blocking grade all season.
A bit further down the list is Blythe, who’s in his first season as a starter for the Rams. He took over for Jamon Brown after he was suspended for the first two games of the season. Needless to say, Blythe has been a pleasant surprise and a true standout for the Rams this year.
He has an overall grade of 74.2, fifth-best among all guards in the NFL.
Anyone could have had one of the top-25 offensive linemen in the NFL after he was waived by the Colts a year and a half ago. The former seventh-round pick wasn’t even supposed to start for the Rams until Jamon Brown got suspended. Blythe never relinquished control of the job and has been reliable ever since.
John Sullivan has struggled a bit this season after a tremendous 2017 campaign with the Rams, but if he’s the weakest link on the offensive line, L.A. is in good shape. Rodger Saffold just missed out on PFF’s list, but even he’s the 10th-ranked guard by the site’s measures.

AgamemnonParticipantRams sign former 6th-round draft pick G Jamil Demby from Detroit Lions practice squad
December 12, 2018
| By: Jake Ellenbogen
Jamil Demby is back in Los Angeles, the team has officially signed Demby to the active roster in a move that comes from the Lions practice squad. The Rams had room open up on the active roster after placing CB Dominique Hatfield onto the injured reserve list.
Demby originally had the opportunity to re-sign with the Rams shortly after he was cut to make room for MVP candidate DL Aaron Donald. Demby chose to stay with his offensive line coach from college who was employed by the Lions until the Rams scooped him up today off of the Lions practice squad and added more depth to their very thin offensive line group. Demby was a short-time fan favorite, fans weren’t happy when the Rams got rid of him but he is back and the Rams can move forward with their draft class as it was.
Jamil Demby signed with #Lions practice squad. #Rams were in running. But circumstances – Brian Picucci, #Lions offensive assistant/quality control was Demby's O-line coach at Maine – worked against them

With this move the Rams only have one player from their 2018 draft class that is not on the active roster, that is LB Travin Howard who resides on the practice squad for now. The 192nd overall pick is going to make the number eight on the offensive line which is a bit surprising since the Rams have carried as many as 11 offensive linemen in the past.

Rams Re-Sign OL Jamil Demby
Myles Simmons
Los Angeles has brought back one of its draft picks, as the team signed offensive lineman Jamil Demby off of Detroit’s practice squad. The Rams cut Demby back in September when the team re-added defensive tackle Aaron Donald from the exempt list to the active roster. He was claimed off waivers by Detroit and was on the club’s roster for a week before going to the practice squad for the duration of the season.
The 192nd pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, Demby played significant snaps in each of Los Angeles’ four preseason games. Demby will be the team’s eighth offensive lineman on the active roster, taking the spot on the 53 vacated by defensive back Dominique Hatfield going to injured reserve.
One of his college coaches is with Detroit. That is why he got messed up with them.
