AgamemnonParticipantWhat current Rams have yet to sign? Cunningham and Harkey come to mind based on what I read yesterday.

Plus, maybe they have to match an offer to one of their RFAs who was tendered at the lowest level.
Cunningham was tendered at the lowest level, 1.6 M. NE might make him an offer that we can match if we want.

Will it take a second-round pick to land Kaepernick?By Kevin Patra

Updated: March 10, 2016 at 11:20 a.m.The biggest question following the flurry of free agent moves on the first day of the new league year is what in the name of St. Peter will the Denver Broncos do at quarterback?
With Brock Osweiler getting a huge payday in Houston and Peyton Manning retiring, the Broncos will become just the second team in NFL history to win a Super Bowl and go into the following season without their top two quarterbacks (2001 Ravens).
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport has previously reported the Broncos are interested in seeking a trade for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
But at what price?
NFL Media columnist Mike Silver reported Thursday that the 49ers likely want a second-round pick for Kaepernick and the Broncos might be willing to part ways with a third rounder.
“I believe that Colin Kaepernick is the target for the Denver Broncos,” Silver said on NFL Network’s NFL HQ. “I believe the 49ers are amendable to trading him. Whether it is a (third-round pick) a (second-round pick) if that’s what it takes. I think right now they’re doing a dance. But I expect the Denver Broncos to go out and get Colin Kaepernick as their top option.”
Silver later added that another team is pursuing a deal for Kaepernick, and he believes the quarterback is “on the verge of being traded.”
Elway has heaped praise on the Kaepernick in the past, including prior to last season when he said after joint practices with the 49ers, “I’ve always liked Colin,” per CSN Bay Area
Silver reports Kaepernick is likely willing to restructure his contract to the Broncos’ liking to facilitate a trade — even if his deal is somewhat team-friendly already.
The 49ers have insisted they want Kaepernick on their team and Chip Kelly has wanted to work with the athletic quarterback in the past. But could that all be posturing to get a higher pick back in exchange?
Kaepernick’s agents have made it know he would like to be traded. Right now the best landing spot outside of the Bay Area is Denver.
For now we wait for the dance to unfold to see if a trade comes to fruition.

AgamemnonParticipantStill early, but source close to the situation indicates #Rams have shown no interest thus far in Robert Griffin III

One for the other side. 😉

AgamemnonParticipantI figure they have 11 million left to spend on FAs. Reynolds and Bates have to be close to minimum, so they don’t really affect the cap anymore. Harkey and Sims would take ? 2-3 million each. With all the DTs in the draft, Fairley might not be more than 6 million. The Rams might just be able to cover that if they want. That is just this year though.
I might add Fairley to Sims, as a don’t sign. We know they were interested in a CB and a TE and the draft has a lot of DTs.

AgamemnonParticipant6 million
I was thinking more like what he actually got.
After Quinn and Donald, i was thinking he was
the next most valuable defender. They’ve lost four starters. Is the D in trouble?
yes? No? Maybe?w
vThey need another DT. imo
AgamemnonParticipantWow, nice payday.
What would you have predicted the contract
would look like?w
v6 million.

AgamemnonParticipantBiggest CB domino expected to fall after new league year kicks off: Rams CB Janoris Jenkins is poised to join NY Giants, sources tell ESPN.

#Giants deal with Janoris Jenkins (as reported by @AdamSchefter) will likely be in excess of $12M per year. Perhaps well in excess.

#Chargers RT Joe Barksdale contract numbers: 4 years, $22.2m, $10.5m fully guaranteed.Barksdale is better off with SD. The Rams are better of with Havenstein. imo

AgamemnonParticipantAs the process continues, it is looking more and more as if the Rams won’t draft a QB, at least not in the first round. imo
I see it different. I think they will draft one high, and yes maybe even in the 1st round depending on who is there.
That is what I originally thought. But, Cook and Lynch have gone down a bit in my opinion. Keenum and Mannion have gone up a bit. It also looks like replacing FAs will be a bit more up to the draft. All that makes QB less of a priority. imo
At one time I was going to make the argument that drafting a QB in the first round was the smart thing to do. The more I tried to do that, the more I started to think maybe it is better to wait.
But, anyway, either path is fine. It is hard to say one way is better than another at this point.

AgamemnonParticipantRapoport On Foles Contract
I just heard Rapoport talking about Foles on the NFL Network…..He said a team trading for Foles would only be picking up around a $2 million salary.
That makes him very tradeable.
We are in effect trading money for draft choices. What is~6 million worth in draft currency?
