I am not sure what SPARQ means, but I think that is good for Brown and Wichmann.

I did a few more while I was looking at the pdf file.

    https://3sigmaathlete.files.wordpress.com/2015/04/sparq.pdf

Link to SPARQ for 2016 https://3sigmaathlete.com/rankings/

Disclaimer: pSPARQ is not perfect and will not yield a perfect representation of any player’s athletic profile. It is meant to give us an idea of where a given player stands athletically relative to his peers.

Note that the “NFL%” and “z-score” columns refer to the NFL positional averages and not to the draft positional averages. This means that a 0.0 z-score and 50.0 percentile would represent a player who rates as a league-average NFL athlete at the position. The average NFL player is pretty athletic, so this designation is not at all a poor result.

Sportrac now agress with JT’s 12.8M figure for the salary cap. It also agrees with the first post in this thread.

Look at the weird page I found. It shows this years WRs rated with last years WRs.

If I read it right, according to this, then, WR is okay in 2016, it just lacks the A+ grade elite prospects. In every other way it compares.

That is the way I read it.

At CBS draft scout they have 75 defensive players to 55 offensive players in the first 130. But, still, that is a significant difference.

Mayock from last year is 57 to 43 for his top 100. 43% vs 42%, so not much different than last year. The guy in Kings’s article sees it different, but it seems it is not as big a deal as he makes it. imo

There’s not that much special talent in this draft.

    • The strength of the draft. Middle-class draft. Read these quotes from four of my evaluators:

“Twenty-five to 55 is the same player, to me.”
“Eleven to 40 is the same guy.”
“To us, 18 to 48 you can get the same player.”
“Load me up with twos and threes in this draft. That’s where I’d want a lot of picks.”

And get this, from Gil Brandt: “It’s the kind of draft where the 50th player on some team’s board will be the 17th player on another team, and the 17th player on the first team could be the 50th on that other team.”

This is whay, as a general plan, I would draft the best QB at 15. Then fills needs with the next 3 picks. This draft is unique in that you can draft for needs. imo

This draft is deep in WRs, just not a Cooper or Watkins type. Probably 4 Wrs go in the first round.

How deep does it go? Can you get a WR in the 2nd round? The 3rd round? You know what I mean—2nd tier guys, to me, means not elite but good. Guys like Cobb, Tate, Hilton, Jeffrey, Allen.

Peak, Listenbee, Mitchell might fit that? Caroo, Mitchell, Sheppard, Miller?

They can keep Foles all year without penalty. But, it is best to trade him whenever they get an offer, even before the draft. imo

I go back and forth. But, it is easier to get a WR later than it is a QB.

If I understand this draft, they do not have elite WRs at the top, but it’s a deep 2nd tier with a lot of prospects that could go well into round 3. These 2nd tier guys are more of the “match em to your system” types, meaning they will do well or not depending on where they go. Obviously there’s nothing preventing a guy like that from developing into a #1 type WR but it’s harder to predict that with 2nd tier guys.

Or…is it just a mediocre receiver class?

    .

This draft is deep in WRs, just not a Cooper or Watkins type. Probably 4 Wrs go in the first round. This is another guy with a lot of Doctson qualities, just less experience.

They both make it look, toooooooooo eaaaaaasy.

I want guys that will CATCH the damn ball./Tyler Boyd, etc. 😉

Exploring Rams’ running back options behind Todd Gurley
    Apr 7, 2016

    Nick WagonerESPN Staff Writer

    http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-rams/post/_/id/28245/exploring-rams-running-back-options-behind-todd-gurley

The offseason is here for the Los Angeles Rams and now that we know where they’ll be playing their home games for the long-term, things have settled down enough to spend our weekends answering a few of your Twitter questions.

As always, you can find me on Twitter @nwagoner and fire away with any Rams-related questions you might have. Please use hashtag #RamsMail so I can see them.

    On to your questions.

@nwagoner: While the Rams listed Tre Mason as the No. 2 back behind Todd Gurley for most of last season, the snaps and playing time would tell a different story. Benny Cunningham is the true backup to Gurley after he played 261 snaps to Mason’s 176. Yes, Mason had more carries (75-37) but Cunningham had 26 receptions to Mason’s 18. Cunningham also averaged 3.78 yards per carry to Mason’s 2.76. Overall, it wasn’t a good year for Mason on the field or off of it, where he was deactivated for a game for missing the team bus to the airport. Obviously, Mason hasn’t helped his cause this offseason, either. So he still has some proving to do to ensure he has a place on the roster. But Cunningham will be back and with Gurley entrenched as the primary ball carrier, it’s probably safe to expect that Cunningham will primarily work on third down and passing situations where his receiving and blocking abilities can best be put to use. Beyond that, I’d expect Malcolm Brown, who got a look in the season finale, to have a chance to push for a roster spot and more carries in his second season. We also can’t definitively rule out the chances that the Rams would look for more depth at the position later in the draft or in undrafted free agency.

@nwagoner: At last month’s owners meetings, Rams coach Jeff Fisher said he expected all of the injured players to be able to participate at some level during OTAs and heading into training camp. That would include Saffold and McDonald, both of whom I asked about directly. Saffold has already been working out at the team’s makeshift facility in Oxnard and looks to be ready to go sooner than later though the Rams could still take some precautions with him to make sure he’s ready for training camp. As for Barron, I don’t know what the Rams plan to call him but it’s a safe bet that he’s going to be playing on the weak side as a linebacker. Maybe they’ll call him a weak side safety on the depth chart but he’s essentially a linebacker now unless the Rams make some drastic changes during the draft and reshuffle things again.

I can see the Rams wanting more picks in this deep but light at the top draft. They need to keep drafting players to replace the players they lose in free agency. But, still, I think the draft shapes up for the Rams to take the best available QB at 15. Even though I like Mannion a lot, I think you have to let the landscape of the draft determine your choices. Just like last year was a good year to get OLine, this year is a good year to take a QB. imo

We have Gurley, Cunningham, Brown(practice squad), Reynolds(unsigned), Watts(who starts out suspended), Mason(who probably starts out suspended). We have just 2 players, 3 if you count Brown, who will be ready opening day. I think RB is still a concern. Anyway, Fisher will draft one, right? 😉
