AgamemnonParticipantPresnap penalties are just stupid.
Offsides is selfish and really bad, cause it gives the other team a free roll.
The patriots and seahawks coach the DBs to hold, they believe they come out ahead, cause the Refs won’t call it all the time.
PI can save a TD.
Personal fouls are mostly stupid and selfish. imo Unless you have to hit the QB to let him know you can’t get too comfortable and you are never safe.
Penalties stop the clock. You don’t always want that.
You don’t want your QB to get hit.
Anyway there are variety of penalties and some are better or worse than others.

AgamemnonParticipantWhat makes me wonder is Collins is getting traded for a third round comp pick. How are they supposed to know they are getting a 3rd round comp pick? Is this information out before we as the fans know?
http://overthecap.com/compensatory-draft-picks-cancellation-chart/#afc-west-2017
They are guessing, but it is pretty good guessing. And those types of trades are conditional. The Rams have a trade like that going in the Goff trade, a 3rd round pick goes to Tenn. It is a comp pick. If they don’t have a comp pick, then it is their regular pick. Used to, you couldn’t trade comp picks, but they changed that. Check out the link.

AgamemnonParticipantI was fine with Keenum this season. I thought he was good enough to QB this team to the playoffs. He has played better than I expected. But, with this team now, I think the playoffs are a dream. Fisher doesn’t, he really can’t think that way. He has to think that Goff gives the Rams the best chance to win before he plays him. I don’t think Keenum will be with the team next year, although he could be. So, I want to play Goff. If not, then I want to play Mannion. It seems we are in a pretty bad division this year, so maybe, we can win the division.

AgamemnonParticipantBy the way–just heard on NFL network that Fisher said Case will continue to start.
The same guy that said we weren’t going to trade Bradford? He should start Mannion if he isn’t going to start Goff. imo
Like you said, Keenum won’t be here next year anyway.

AgamemnonParticipantWell after losing 3 straight I think we’re in “might as well play Goff” territory
Me, too.

AgamemnonParticipantBoy that game-ending INT was a bad one. Ah well.

vAt that point you are kind of in desperation mode, you have to try to do something. imo

1:09 left on the clock, no TOs, etc. It takes 14 seconds just to clock the ball. You need a TD to win, a FG to tie. Your chances of winning are about 1 in 8, if you do everything right. Maybe you want to try something else, but you don’t have much choice at the point. imo

AgamemnonParticipantI am proving that it wasn’t a bad decision to take the FG or later on to go for it on 4th down. In both cases either way is close to the other. Even if the other team knew it was going to be a fake, it is still 11 against 10. You can’t count the guy who is the returner.
Fisher did not make a BAD decision in either case. Either choice would have been OK. I prefer to line up with my regular team to go for, but if they do it off a fake punt, well, that is really doesn’t make much difference.
As far as your last statement. I think of that as more of a rant than a question.
AgamemnonParticipantfwiw, I agree with you guys.
Of course you are right. Right now, the Rams are in the middle of the bell curve. I’m just saying that a coaching chance doesn’t automatically shift them to the right.

AgamemnonParticipantThe Rams got the ball back twice in the game. Below are the win probabilities for trailing by 4, game tied, and trailing by 7.
If you go for it and don’t make, the game is virtually over. Any kind of score and you have 2 shots to win. Again, in the end this stuff is close. Either stragey is acceptable, but I prefer the FG.
