AgamemnonParticipantWhether they add another arm or two for camp, I think they might go with only 2 QBs this year. There are too many FAs next year and I think they will try to find as many players this year as they can. I think they are shooting to complete the team for 2019. That would be McVay’s 3rd year. How long is his contract?

AgamemnonParticipantI think Johnson and Ebukam are good on Special Teams.
,
Kupp will get major time because he can read defenses. I think that was missing last year. The WRs should be where they are expected to be.
.
Reynolds will be our best deep threat.
.
Everett will be our biggest mismatch and red zone threat.

5 most important things to know about the Rams undrafted free agents
1. Aarion Penton chose the Rams over the Broncos
Originally from St. Louis, this defensive back chose to play for the Los Angeles Rams rather than sign with the Denver Broncos.
Mizzou CB Aarion Penton (CBC) chose Rams as rookie FA over Denver. He paid pre-draft visit to LA. Joins ex-Mizzou teammate E.J. Gaines.

2. Both the offensive linemen will get a chance at center
Rams GM Les Snead on the undrafted free agents at offensive line: “Coach Kromer really identified somebody we might have drafted in the seventh round. We were able to get him so that was good.”
Both of the UDFA free agents the Rams signed at OL, Jake Eldrenkamp and Anthony McMeans, will get a chance to work at center.

3. UCLA defensive back was most recently a wide receiverIshmael Adams was a running back at Oaks Christian during high school, then recorded eight interceptions at UCLA — including 3 touchdowns.
Ishmael Adams, UCLA's cornerback turned receiver, was nominated for special teams player of the week after a few sizable returns.

4. USC running back has a shot to make the rosterWhen the Rams lost Benny Cunningham to the Chicago Bears earlier this offseason, they lost legitimate depth at running back. Davis adds value.
Justin Davis may have a real chance to make the 53-man roster. After Gurley and Dunbar they are thin at RB.

5. Folarin Orimolade graduated early from the Ivy LeagueThe new Rams linebacker graduated two terms with from Dartmouth with a degree in Economics, per Greg Beachem.

Texans check out LB Folarin Orimolade at Dartmouth pro day
By: Jeff Risdon | March 31, 2017 9:27 pm ET
In the quest to unearth some potential hidden gems, the Houston Texans dispatched a scout to Hanover, New Hampshire for Dartmouth’s pro day.
The Big Green are not a noted football power, but they do have a linebacker who has a chance to be drafted in Folarin Orimolade. The 5-foot-11, 235-pounder was a playmaker at the FCS level.
“Flo”, as he prefers to be called, led the Ivy League in both sacks (14.5) and forced fumbles (5) as a senior. He was a four-year starter playing both at rush end and off-ball linebacker. The stocky LB earned positive reviews back in January’s NFLPA Collegiate Bowl practice sessions.
His workout wasn’t great. Rumored to run as fast as 4.6 in the 40-yard dash, Orimolade ran just 4.79. He did post a 36-inch vertical leap and a solid 21 reps on the bench press. His full pro day results, as well as a peek of who the Texans sent to investigate, are available from Big Green Alert.

AgamemnonParticipantI think this: I actually prefer
Everett+ Johnson over Lamp +Everett. If I do the math, you like Johnson over Lamp. I know. You mentally factored in the extra 3rd round pick. 😉 But, I couldn’t resist.
AgamemnonParticipant
AgamemnonParticipantI think Reynolds was the Rams one value BPA pick. When they got to pick #112 they couldn’t pass. Everything else was need, fit, targeted, work the draft stuff. I think you can do ok, drafting like the Rams did. All teams do it to some extent. I don’t think you can do your best in the long run that way. imo

AgamemnonParticipantAt 3 minutes in it gives Tavon’s top speed as 18.85 mph. Tavon is really quick, but his top end speed isn’t as spectacular. The fastest guys hit 22.6 mph. See this post. How Fast is Fast. => http://theramshuddle.com/topic/how-fast-is-fast/
That is his top speed at the end of his 40, so maybe he has more than that?
AgamemnonParticipantHow man times did Tavon score from 30+ yards out?
According to espn splits, from 2013-16, it’s one time.
I am not making a point with that one way or another, just noting it.
I am also counting returns in my mind. But maybe I am remembering too many that were cancelled by penalties. The graphic from NFL shows the same thing.
AgamemnonParticipant
AgamemnonParticipantThat is fine if they want the Rams to send Tavon deep more often. But his true value is that he can take a short pass or hand off and go the distance. The idea that he can score from anywhere at anytime. So, more deep passes isn’t really the key. imo
Don’t the look at their own data?

Austin has caught just six of 30 targets on post and ‘go’ routes, for 197 yards and two touchdowns throughout his career.
They is a deceiving stat or a limited WR stat for WRs only. How man times did Tavon score from 30+ yards out?
I throw out last year. Last year was somekind of year from hell thing, for the entire Offense. 😉
AgamemnonParticipantTavon was always a playmaker in my mind, not a position gender. 😉 I think McVay will get Tavon his touches. Mostly in different roles, because of matchups. McVay likes his mismatches. imo
I don’t know if he sticks or not. There is a place for him on my team. If McVay moves on, so be it. I think I would just call him a RB.
AgamemnonParticipantHey ag, could you put those Reynolds vids in the Reynolds thread? Thanks. http://theramshuddle.com/topic/josh-reynolds-2/
I messed up. I blame the Russian hackers.
