The board moderators are Herzog, InvaderRam, Mack, and zn. They may be contacted through PMs or you may ask any pertinent question in this thread.

* Newcomers: your first post will be held in check until a mod clears it. That is, it will initially post as “pending.” Once a mod clears it, you’re free and good to go and no future posts will be held as “pending”. Mod board coverage isn’t 24/7 yet, so if it happens that you don’t get a quick clearance, don’t worry we will get to you.

* On changing passwords. See the exchange in this thread, it’s all there.

* Check out the Board Policies & Issues board now and then. That’s where helpful board usage material will eventually all go, AND that’s where I posted the rules (http://theramshuddle.com/topic/board-rules-policies/). I know everyone (except our newcomers) knows the rules, but I am interested to see if you have any feedback or comments regarding either the rules themselves or how they’re phrased. Add any kind of topic to that board you want — about anything that occurs to you regarding the board or your board experience or features you want or don’t want etc.

* For PMs, check the “huddle inbox” (upper right) when you come on. PM notices are sent via email.

The “pending moderation” thing is useful. I just nabbed a spammer. A Kerry Demov something something who was offering “free” tickets to some sports thing in St. Louis at the Edward Johnson dome something something. Yeah right, I don’t even live in St. Louis.

Kidding obviously. It was a real spammer. I shot him where he stood and let the vultures have him.

ZN, Where do I go to do things lie change my password to something I can remember instead of the computer generated automatic one that was emailed to me?

I’ve searched and can’t find a link, button, whatever…

To change your password…go to your name in the upper right.
Choose “edit profile page.”
Then scroll down, it contains everything you need to change a password.

For those who don’t know, you can elect to have an invisible edit.

At the bottom left of the page when you edit, there’s a checked box that says “Keep a log of this edit.” Just uncheck that box.

Matter of choice. Some care, some don’t.

Just so people can see what it looks like, here, I insert spaces between the bracket & the first letter and after the last letter & before the bracket.

You need to eliminate those 2 spaces. IE it doesn’t work with those spaces…I just put them there so the code is visisble.

Or just post the thing and trust us mods to fix it.

Ok it won’t let me upload a pic for my avatar. Its a jpeg and the right size and all but it just won’t upload. Any ideas why? Thx

Okay the best bet I can think of is to use “pic sizer” to turn it into an ordinary jpeg. That’s what I did with my avatar, which comes off my computer.

Look, you allow immoderation, and what inevitably follows is impropriety… and THEN you’re already halfway to indiscretion.

So, it is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

I agree about the board btw. It’s our Malta.
