Unless you want to worship at the alter of Eric Crouch, you can go here to update your avatar. 150×150 image is best.

Is there a way to upload pictures from the internet?

This ‘browse’ thingy takes me straight to my own saved
photos, all of which are too big to be accepted
    by the avatar-god.

well the simple thing is to save pics from the net to your own computer, and then upload THOSE here

Go to your name in the upper right corner. Choose edit profile. Scroll down. Choose “choose image.” THEN update the profile.

Well, there is no ‘choose image’ button when i go to the
profile change page. There’s just a ‘browse’ button and a dead ‘image’ button.

No big deal. I figure somethng out eventually.

That’s a simple thing. First posts by posters who just registered are held as “pending” till a mod clears them. That’s just a precautionary anti-spammers thing. Once your first post is cleared, you’re fine from then on.

    I discuss that here –> http://theramshuddle.com/topic/temporary-sticy-some-board-orientation-things/

All that aside–welcome aboard old friend! Good to see you in the new digs.

    yeah thanks, zn!
I wouldn’t even have known without yer email helping find True North again….
    so thanks for including me!

btw – Does this mean I get to be just one of the Lucky Few….. we band of Brigands?! 😉
well, more like shepherds since we’re Ram fans….
but Brigands make us sound like very dangerous Shepherds….
    and I like that.

If any of you want to shrink your personal photos
into an avatar you can do it here.
Step one is to shrink them.
Then you download them to your computer.
Then you upload the shrunken-version with the ‘browse’ upload button.

    I think. I dunno.

Just a thought but most any computer comes with the “Paint” program. You can open a pic with that and just do the resize on it. All I did was make one of the dimensions 10% of what it was and it resized just fine. Then just save it as whatever name you want like “huddle avatar” and there you go. Obviously if the picture is huge you’ll need to scale it down even more but…. Just pointing it out for those who don’t want to have to go to another site to do that.
