ModeratorLMU93 did the work on this:
http://www.footballoutsiders.com/dvoa-ratings/2017/week-7-dvoa-ratings
“…the Los Angeles Rams are our surprise No. 2 team after they clobbered the Cardinals 33-0. The Rams are one of only two teams that come out above-average in all three phases of the game. The 6-1 Philadelphia Eagles are the other, putting them at No. 4 overall in DVOA.
The Rams are part of a big trend this year. With all the parity of 2017 comes a big opportunity for teams to end very long playoff droughts. There are some very surprising teams listed near the top of the DVOA ratings: not only the Rams at No. 2, but Jacksonville at No. 8, and Buffalo at No. 11. Since each of these teams is also 4-2 or better, we’re giving each one a strong chance to end its long playoff drought. Right now the Rams make the playoffs in 84 percent of our simulations, the Jaguars in 79 percent of our simulations, and the Bills in 64 percent of our simulations. In 54 percent of our simulations, both the Rams and Bills make the playoffs, which would end the longest playoff droughts in both the NFC and AFC. All three of these teams make the playoffs in a shocking 42 percent of simulations.”

5. LOS ANGELES RAMS
The sleeper factor in LA’s 5-2 start is not a resurgence by the offense but a top-five pass defense. The Rams held the Cardinals to 5.8 yards per attempt, no touchdowns, two interceptions and a rating of 39.1, albeit with 14 attempts coming from Drew Stanton after Carson Palmer broke his arm.\
LA came into the week ranked sixth against the pass by DVOA. Aaron Donald is one of the top five players in the NFL, while eight players on the Rams defense have at least two sacks this season. Since inserting rookie safety John Johnson into the starting lineup, LA has allowed just 34 points in three games.

This stat shows how reliable Rams receivers have been for Jared Goff
By: Cameron DaSilva | 23 hours ago
The Rams had one of the worst receiving corps in the NFL last season, and it was reflected in their 31st-ranked passing attack. They put a whole lot of effort into revamping it this offseason by bringing in Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, Sammy Watkins and Gerald Everett.
Their aggressiveness and willingness to surround Jared Goff with better playmakers has paid dividends with the Rams ranking 12th in passing yards. Goff has obviously played a huge role in that, looking far better than he did last season, but his receivers are giving him a lot of help, too.
According to ESPN, Goff has had only 1.4 percent of his passes dropped, which is the third-lowest mark in the NFL. For comparison’s sake, Brian Hoyer has the highest at 7.3 percent.

Kupp and Everett, two rookies, lead the Rams with two drops each. Sammy Watkins is third with one drop, giving the Rams five total on the year. That’s low for a team with as many young pass-catchers as L.A. has.
