    pff has a nice tool looking at qb time in pocket vs qb rating

    the scramblers have the highest time..Wilson, Kaepernick, Newton and Geno Smith avg around 3 seconds to throw the ball while Manning and Brady are the best at getting the ball out quick avg only around 2.4 secs

    what’s fascinating is looking at a qb rating under 2.5 secs (short throws) and over 2.6 (long throws)

    Peyton Manning 105.5 short throws vs 93.6 longer down the field throws
    Brady 101.1 vs 89.3

    most top qb’s have a slight higher qb rating on short throws but with 10-20 pts off their longer throws

    Bradford in 2013 was 9th out of 41 qb’s on throws over 2.6 seconds at 94.4 qb rating..a testament to his arm strength/accuracy…and a 87.5 on throws under 2.5 seconds.. also avg 2.58 seconds in throwing the ball close to Brady/Manning times

    Hill was 81.9 vs 87 on throws under 2.5 vs over 2.6

    Austin Davis 113.1 vs 65.9…looks to be the worse spread I could find going back to 2011..just lacks an nfl arm
