znModeratorRams chat with Jim Thomas
http://sports.live.stltoday.com/Event/Rams_chat_with_Jim_Thomas_bbff30dfeb14?Page=3
Hi Jim, I know I asked you this a few weeks ago, but any news on if the Rams are one of the teams coming to London next year? Would love to see them!! As always, thanks for these chats. A big UK Rams fan!
by Superjim 1:59 PMHave not heard anything on possibility of Rams traveling to London in the near future. There’s a lot going on here on a lot of fronts, as you’re probably aware. But I’ll try to keep an eye on it.
by jthomas 2:02PMCan anybody stop me ?
by aaron donald 2:02PMYou’re doing a pretty good job of getting through double teams, coping without Chris Long and Robert Quinn. Your game Sunday had to be one of your best. I’d be shocked if you weren’t in the Pro Bowl again.
by jthomas 2:03PMHi, Jim: I saw Roberson playing on several plays in the second half Sunday, and it seemed like he was getting beaten pretty consistently. The picture on TV wasn’t wide enough for me to tell why he was in there – one of the other DBs off the field or just more DBs required. I thought it might have been because of Johnson’s hammy. Could you shed some light? How does Johnson look for the next game? Thanks.
by George M. 2:03PMYeah, Roberson was in for Johnson _ the Rams said it was a quad injury. In any event, as is frequently the case, the opposing QB went right after the new guy off the bench. Roberson did have trouble in coverage _ he was beaten on the only Baltimore TD pass. Not sure on Johnson’s status yet this week.
by jthomas 2:05PMCan you explain how you and Bernie keep calling for a show of force for support of the stadium but during every BOA town hall (including tonight) all you hear is people against it?
by Rams 77 2:05PMI wasn’t aware that I “kept calling for a show of support of the stadium.” Also, I haven’t been at the town hall meetings _ so I don’t know how many people are there. In a metro area of 3 million people how many are we talking about at these meetings? A few dozen? A couple hundred? Is this a valid cross-section of sentiment in the St. Louis area? Just wondering. .. . . .
by jthomas 2:08PMHi jim.
Percentages fisher is back next year.
by Bhanrahan 2:08PMLet’s assume the team finishes 7-9. I’d say 70-30 he’s back.
by jthomas 2:08PMCan my husband get his job back?
by MRS Foles 2:09PMSure, but probably not this week.
by jthomas 2:09PMHow long does it take to get a third round QB ready to play? This team will not win another game with Keenum or Foles, so why not let Mannion get beat up and learn the hard way? This offense is dreadful.
by Jake 2:10PMSo we’re already calling for the third-string QB? There’s no set amount of time in terms of when a young quarterback is ready. But I don’t think Mannion is ready. He certainly didn’t look ready during his preseason game appearances. In the modern NFL, with it’s limited practice time, the third QB barely gets any work. Mannion shares in some scout team time, but otherwise it’s watch and learn. Hard to see that letting him “get beat up and learn the hard way” solves anything. But I will agree with you on this: the offense is dreadful.
by jthomas 2:15PMMy mistake, I foolishly thought the beat writer for the Rams would have taken time to attend important BOA meetings concerning a possible new stadium.
by Rams 77 2:15PMYou’re forgiven. We have news side reporters that are handling that.
by jthomas 2:15PMJim – Do you ever get the idea when you listen to Fisher talk about the team that he’s one sentence from dropping, “Shoot, we’ll fix that.”
by McGarrett 2:15PMHe has used “we’ll fix that” on many occasions. All that is missing is the “shoot.”
by jthomas 2:16PMSpeaking of “shoot, we’ll fix that,” why didn’t Mad Mike ever get another HC job? He had a great record.
by Andy 2:17PMA 56-36 record for Martz, pretty darn good. I did think he’d get another chance. But I think his reputation of being hard to work for hurt him.
by jthomas 2:17PMShould they move Greg Robinson to LG or RG? He’s not doing too well at LT.
by David 2:17You know, in an ideal world that might not be a bad idea. But at this point, the Rams don’t really have any alternatives to play tackle.
by jthomas 2:18PMThe minute we get in to field goal range, why do we automatically settle for a field goal?
by Bruce Willis 2:19PMI think there’s some merit to what you’re saying. But Fisher does have a lot of trust in Zuerlein. And it would’ve been nice at the end of the game if Zuerlein’s attempt was closer than 52 yards on a chilly, windy day.
by jthomas 2:20PMFour years later, what has Fisher & Snead showed for this offensive line?
by Garrett 2:20PMThe mistake was going so far over the top in terms of going with all rookies _ 4 draft picks, 1 undrafted rookie, and one supplemental draft pick. I was very surprised that the Rams didn’t bring in at least one veteran offensive line starter in free agency _ I wrote it and said it at the time. And just because the Rams hadn’t had the best of luck in free agency with offensive linemen (J. Long, Wells, etc.) doesn’t mean you stop trying. Maybe in 2, 3 years many of these Rams will be solid NFL starters or even Pro Bowlers. But it’s not going to help this year. Meanwhile, many of the team’s pending free agents may have gone elsewhere by the time these young offensive linemen are ready. Any free agent departures creates a whole knew set of problems. Keep in mind, even the great Orlando Pace didn’t make the Pro Bowl until his third season in the league.
by jthomas 2:26PMNot sure if this was asked but has ANYONE explained how you dont replace Case with Nick when it was obvious he was not getting it done, VERY necessary winnable game….and * million dollar contract???? My throat still is sore!!
by D_Roks30 2:26PMFisher said he never considered a change. Do you think inserting Foles would’ve been the magic wand that rescued the team Sunday? Have you watched Foles play lately?
by jthomas 2:27PMThis 2014 draft (aside from Aaron Donald) is starting to look pretty sour. Maybe EJ Gaines will come back next year and help make it look better. This brain trust needs to stop going for potential and get players that can play period. This isnt no child left behind.
by JP 2:27PMPersonally, I’ve always thought production is more important than potential.
by jthomas 2:28PMGiven their poor play over the past years, the fleecing of the Redskins number ones, and a good number of #1 of their own draft choices, why are Snead and Fisher still running this team?
by Jake 2:28PMThat’s a fair question, and a question for Stan Kroenke. Unfortunately, he’s not taking my calls these days.
by jthomas 2:29PMHi Jim, are the Rams still one of the youngest teams in the NFL? I’m asking because it would be a shame to see this D’s prime years get wasted due to offensive ineptitude. Add a young QB to develop in the mix, and the Rams might have a winning season before my kids make it to high school.
by Vince Guldin 2:29PMYes, I believe they entered the 2015 season as either the youngest, or one of the youngest 53-man rosters in the league. The problem is, as I alluded to earlier, is that in feeling the needs at other positions (Let’s say QB, TE, WR), the Rams also have to worry about the fact that 3 of their 4 starters in the secondary are free agents at the end of this season. So is Mark Barron, William Hayes, Eugene Sims, Greg Zuerlein, Cory Harkey, Brian Quick.
by jthomas 2:31PMRe-placing Case with Nick might certainly put a spark in Foles game and the team….Who knows but it wouldnt be as insane as like practically having an all rookie line…..Sorry…just very disappointed….
by D_Roks30 2:32PMUnderstood.
by jthomas 2:32PMThanks for the Chat, as always, JT! Do you have any concerns that Fisher may be on the verge of losing the locker room? The transgressions by Battle and Mason were disturbing. The game management on Sunday was horrid, and then you have the Keenum incident. What’s your take?
by Knux 2:32PMI guess it’s possible. But the team is still playing very hard. Once the effort starts to wane, that’s when you have issues.
by jthomas 2:33PMJim, do you get the sense that Jeff Fisher can’t coach a playoff NFL team in today’s NFL that emphasizes explosive offense?
by Garrett 2:33PMThere are several examples of teams that won with strong running games, strong defenses, and special teams. Carolina, Seattle, and recently San Francisco come to mind. But you do need to be better than 32nd in passing offense, I would think, to make it work with the other components.
by jthomas 2:35PMI apologize if this has already been asked, but after the Rams next loss…any chance of seeing the rookie QB?
by Bones 2:35PMNope.
by jthomas 2:36PMJim, simple question – do you believe it is possible that Coach Fisher had no idea his QB may have a concussion?
by Tex 2:36PMYes. How many times have you heard a head coach say when asked about what he saw on a certain play: “I don’t know. I have the worst seat in the house.” I think it’s entirely possibly that he did not see Keenum’s reaction after going down. The question is: How did everyone else except the trainer miss it? And why didn’t the injury spotter simply stop the game, so the physicians and independent sideline neurologist look at him?
by jthomas 2:37PMim: Thanks for your time. I generally don’t fault a coach for a teams poor play but how can you profess to be a run first coach and start the season with a relatively inexperienced OL?
by Jake 2:40PMI hear you.
by jthomas 2:40PMDo you think it would be a goid idea to start Mannion in there? Remember Kurt Warner
by Ramfan68 2:40PMFor one, Kurt Warner didn’t start until his second season with the Rams. And he was old for a rookie, having a stint in Green Bay’s camp several years earlier, and throwing all sorts of passes in the Arena League and NFL Europe.
by jthomas 2:41PMOn the in game review of concussions by a third party, if this person spots what they believe to be a concussion, how to they relay the need to pull the player and have tests performed? Is there a bat signal, a button in the shape of a brain and who gets this signal, the refs, the scoreboard operator, the head trainer on the sideline?
by Mark S 2:41PMHe can communicate with the referee via headset.
by jthomas 2:42PMHi Jim, Do you expect Fole’s back in this Sunday ?
by johnny 2:42PMif Keenum passes the concussion protocol this week, he will start against Cincy. Not Foles.
by jthomas 2:43PMAfter game interview with Aaron Donald seemed to be some issues with the offense and coaching. Is there some hostilities growing within team?
by duane 2:43PMI don’t sense that. On the one hand, how would you not be frustrated? But also, it was the defenses that gave up 13 points and 155 yards in the fourth quarter against a team missing its top running back and without any WRs who would start anywhere else.
by jthomas 2:44PMJim, I’m tired of talking about our bad NFC West team. Let’s talk about a different bad one, the 49ers. How did Colin K crash so quickly? Was Jim Harbaugh the reason for CK’s success?
by Andy 2:45PMSorry. I think you need the Matt Maiocco chat in San Francisco.
by jthomas 2:45PMGosh, this team is a disaster. Anyone who really watches this trainwreck now realizes that the coach has to go. I know you’ve stated previously that only a major step backwards would result in Fischer being let go. I think we’re staggered and leaning backwards… Two questions. Assuming Stan wants to create excitement as he moves to LA, do you think the fate of his eventual application has any impact on Fisher’s future? Who advises Stan on whether to retain or part ways with Fischer?
by Simple.10 2:46PMAgain, it’s what constitutes “disaster.” 7-9? 6-10? 5-11? 4-12? All along, I’ve thought Kroenke wanted Fisher to help guide the Rams through the move to LA _ if it indeed happens. You have to wonder as well, if Kroenke would want to pay off the final year of Fisher’s contract _ which averages a little less than $7 million per year. I would think he would seek out Kevin Demoff’s advice on such a matter.
by jthomas 2:49PMMy head hurts. Why did coach leave me out there?
by Case 2:49PMActually Case, you felt good enough Monday to watch film at Rams Park.
by jthomas 2:50PMDo you know what Snead thinks of the contract he gave to Foles?
by Jake 2:50PMActually, Fisher was hired before Snead.
by jthomas 2:50PMWhat did case do to warrant another start? Outside of maybe 3 throws, he looked horrible
by Will 2:50PMI’m not necessarily disagreeing. But have you seen Foles play lately?
by jthomas 2:51PMRegarding our historically poor passing offense…What do you fix first? Bad O-line, Bad W/R’s, Bad QB, or Bad Scheme/Bad Coordinator? And how do you fix it? Draft, Trade or Free Agency?
by dgt 2:51PMAll of the above, in all areas.
by jthomas 2:51PMAt the beginning of the year, Snead and Fish thought the Rams were set at offensive line. I thought they were light (and I know you did too). I am available and would work cheap – please pass this on to the Rams, as they seem to be in need of good advice. I know you could do this too, but it would be a conflict of interest, and besides you already have a great job. Thanks.
by George M. 2:52PMYou should have your agent contact Les Snead or Kevin Demoff, and have your highlight tape ready.
by jthomas 2:53PMSeems to be some resentment from defense players when talking about our offense. (Aaron Donald interview post game) Got to be very frustrating when the defense plays its butts off and our offense doesn’t?
by Duane Barrett 2:53PMNo doubt. I think your overall point is valid. But again, did you watch the defense in the fourth quarter?
by jthomas 2:53PMJim,
I really enjoy your chats. This is the first one I get to ask questions due to being on vacation so, I hope I don’t hit you with too many at once… With Tavon Austin being small by NFL standards is he maybe too small for the WR role he provides? Would a Britt-Quick WR combo serve more effectively to the passing game? I’ve noticed Cook starting to catch the ball these last two weeks, did he finally get his rear chewed out that caused him to play like a true TE that can catch or was it when the fans boo’d him during the intros at the Bears game? Last one, in regard with Foles and with the passing game around him similar with basketball to when you keep shooting you hit nothing but the rim and darn thing won’t go into the hole, but you just have to work your way through it and eventually the ball will go into the hole or is it that he’s gun-shy and rattled from the hits he’s taken, in particular, the one from Clay Matthews? The reason why I ask is in week 1 he was zipping the ball all over the place against Seattle and has progressively gotten worse since week 1.
Thank you
by Scott Anderson 2:56 PMI think we’ve all see what Tavon Austin can provide with his speed and elusiveness. Yes, because of his lack of size, you can’t always send him over the middle. He’s not the guy you necessarily want to throw fade patterns to in the end zone, or have him body up with defensive backs. But I think we can all see his value. The Britt-Quick combo was effective early last season before Quick’s shoulder injury. But for whatever reason, Quick hasn’t come around this season. And he’s been on the field a lot lately. As for Cook, he’s always had a lot of talent. He has caught a few passes lately, but it’s not like he’s setting the world on fire either. Don’t know what to say about Foles. I will agree, that he hasn’t played the same since that Green Bay game.
by jthomas 3:00PMJT, allow me to begin the Fire Jeff Fisher thread!
by Cousin Vinny 3:00PMVinny, I think you’re a tad late to the party.
by jthomas 3:00PMIs Stan Kroenke the only person who can fire Fisher?
by Garrett 3:00PMThat’s usually how it works.
by jthomas 3:01PMKronke is a dope/Fisher stinks/give me some hope?
by Cousin Vinny 3:01PMThe holiday season is almost upon us. In the grand scheme of things cherish your health, your family, and your friends. Remember that bad football is still football. Peace on earth, good will towards men.
by jthomas 3:02PMis it time for “Greg the Leg” to lose his job?
by dgt 3:02PMDon’t see that happening. But it makes you wonder if Rams will re-sign him. His contract is up after this season.
by jthomas 3:03PMBring Roman Gabriel back!!
by B Hanrahan 3:03PMI’d rather see Kurt Warner.
by jthomas 3:03PMWhat’s the latest on the relocation chatter? Is the stadium bill going to get through the BOA? If the NFL is so underwhelmed by the STL stadium, what is it lacking?
by ericp333 3:03PMWell, we’re all waiting to see what happens with the Board of Alderman vote. I think when all is said and done, the bill will get through. I don’t think the NFL is “underwhelmed” by the St. Louis stadium. But I think the Rams are.
by jthomas 3:05PMIt’s not unreasonable to think that the Rams could lose the next 5. All of the teams have decent QBs, at least average offenses and enough D to stop the pathetic Ram offense. Surely, Fisher is gone if that happens?
by Steve 3:06PMYeah, I don’t think 5-11 would sit very well.
by jthomas 3:06PMSomeone has said that bad football is better than no football. I wonder who will buy the tickets, especially if/when the Rams move to LA, or are they just tanking it to get another high draft choice for the LA Rams?
by Jake 3:06PMI don’t think anyone is tanking. But I also think that LA would have very little patience with this brand of football. Much less 15-65.
by jthomas 3:07PMhow do you grade the OL. Is the line as bad as one would assume given that we are on a few third stringers? Any hope that these draftees can perform next year and thereafter? I actually think Robinson is pretty good, aside from the errors that happen here and there.
by david b 3:08PMIn a way, I don’t blame the linemen to a large degree. You lump that many rookies and inexperienced players together on the line – and what do you expect? I think several of the young linemen have potential, but growing pains are inevitable.
by jthomas 3:10PMWhat are the chances that fisher makes personnel changes again in the offensive side of the ball? He assembled an all star cast on the defensive side. Time for some notoriety on the offensive side.
by Will 3:11PMIf you’re talking about the remainder of this year, there’s not much you can do personnel-wise 10 games into the season. In terms of the offseason – who knows? Fisher doesn’t like to take wide receivers high in the draft. The move up for Tavon Austin was definitely the exception.
by jthomas 3:12PMI was at the Rams game in Baltimore and when the Rams went up 13-3, I told my cousin, who is a Ravens fan, that the Ravens would win because Fisher would go ultra conservative and put too much pressure on the defense. Fisherball never fails to amaze me with his team’s offensive ineptitude. Same script every single week. So frustrating.
by Garrett 3:14PMTurns out you were right, eh?
by jthomas 3:15PMI think Foles and Keenum are a downgrade from Hill and Davis. What do you think?
by Tom R 3:15PMDon’t think I would go that far. But I could see where you could make that argument.
by jthomas 3:15PMbring back Mike Martz! At least it was fun to watch.
by dgt 3:15PMThings were never boring.
by jthomas 3:16PMDo you buy Fishers answer on the Keenum concussion issue. Seriously didn’t see it?
by Duane Barrett 3:16PMAfter watching how Keenum was playing before the apparent concussion, do you really think the head coach would lie to keep him in?
by jthomas 3:17PMJim, just a thought while watching the Patriots/Bills game last night. It reminded me of the Baltimore/Rams game. Bills built on defense, unproven QB and not enough emphasis on offense to overcome the Pats.
by Stickman 3:17PMInteresting. I was able to only watch bits and pieces of that game. It obviously takes a lot of offensive firepower to beat the Patriots.
by jthomas 3:17PMIs there a franchise QB in this next draft? Or should our No. 1 pick be used elswhere?
by Bruce Willis 3:18PMI don’t know about taking a QB in the first round, but I think the Rams definitely need to think about it at this point.
by jthomas 3:18PMHow far back will the Greg Robinson pick at #2 overall set back the Rams?
by Garrett 3:19PMI concede things don’t look rosy now. But I’m far from being ready to call that pick a bust. But yeah, if you swing and miss on a No. 2 overall pick, that certainly sets you back.
by jthomas 3:20PMWho gets the ax first, Snead or Fisher? I actually think the Rams have upgraded talent overall. However, we’re just not seeing consistent production on the field. So, I’d let Fish go first.
by scubado 3:20PMIf this all falls apart and obviously it’s trending that way, does it really matter. I think they’d both probably be gone.
by jthomas 3:21PMThe coaches must teach the qbs to throw falling back because every qb we have does that. Used to have faith in Fisher, but he has to go. How do you play the entire game and not throw the football to your best weapon-Gurley? Chicago and Buffalo make a living doing that.
by scram 3:22PMYeah, I really thought the Rams would be working Gurley more into the passing game.
by jthomas 3:22PMAre you suggesting that robinson is better suited to play guard than tackle? would that mean that he was overdrafted at #2?
by T Brahaney 3:23PMI’m just saying it might have been better to do that for the short term. And I for one don’t get hung up on whether a guy plays guard or tackle (relative to draft position). If a guy’s a very good player at guard, what does it matter where he was drafted?
by jthomas 3:25PMSunday’s loss I put on Fischer. Regardless of he had seen if Keenum was shaking up. It was third and seven when he fumbled, Baltimore and no timeouts and there was a minute left in the game. What had Keenum done in the game up to that point that you would think he could make that throw. Then if you got into position could Zuerlein kick the field go. If you run the ball and they stop you then you run the clock down to nothing and punt and take your chances in overtime. If you make the first down, call time out and see what your options are.
by Mick 3:25PMWow, now that’s a conservative approach.
by jthomas 3:27PMHey Jim, thanks as always for your hard work. Looks like the football Gods are p.o.ed at St Louis again. A few other sports guys are discussing Fisher having lost control of some players. Thoughts?
by Alton Ken 3:28PMThat’s an interesting point, I guess you’re referencing the Mason and Battle benchings. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the effort’s still there on game day and on the practice field. When the effort starts to wane, that’s when you have to start wondering.
by jthomas 3:31PMGiven the needs at QB, #1WR, and at least one upgrade at TE, and maybe still another two upgrades on the OL, how long before the offense gets to “above average?”
by Tom 3:31PMWe’ve been asking that question for a lot of years now, haven’t we?
by jthomas 3:31PMWho would you start Sunday, Nick or Case?
by Will 3:31PMIf he clears concussion protocol, I would give Keenum another look.
by jthomas 3:32PMAfter four years, wheres the offense overall?
by JP 3:32PMAbout where it was 4 years ago. Maybe worse.
by jthomas 3:32PMIsn’t this about the time when most of the true contenders have one of those players only meeting on the offensive side to hey this thing figured out, or does everyone seem to be content overt at rams park?
by Will 3:33PMI don’t think anyone’s content over here.
by jthomas 3:33PMJim, can you name one good reason why Fisher should get a 5th year after showing nothing after 4 years that this can be a playoff team?
by Garrett 3:39PMMost coaches are lucky to get a fourth year after three consecutive losing seasons _ much less a fifth.
by jthomas 3:41PMJohnny Manziel is about to be cut by the Cleveland Browns…….should the Rams take a flyer on him?
by Knux 3:41PMNo.
by jthomas 3:42PMHi Jim..just joined on the thread..aplolgize if youve answered any similiar questions…Fisher let go this year and do you see us staying with Foles after season is over?
by joe rochester NY 3:42PMMonetarily, it would be tough to cut Foles after this season. Unless I’m reading the contract wrong, it looks like the $6 million roster bonus for next year is guaranteed. As for Fisher, again, I think it would take a disaster for a change to be made after this year. As to what constitutes a disaster only Stan Kroenke and Kevin Demoff no.
by jthomas 3:45PMHas anyone gotten a peek at the full Thursday night game Color Rush unis? Will the Rams be all in yellow? The jokes will be unbearable…
by Uncle Leo 3:45PMHaven’t seen the full unis. But yeah, we’re talking a lot of yellow. Bright yellow.
by jthomas 3:46PMEver seen a coach go 7-8-1; 7-9; 6-10; 4-6; and not get fired?
by Grim Reaper 3:47 PMI’ll have to research it, but I don’t think there’s much precedent.
by jthomas 3:47PMWhat games do you really see the Rams winning the rest of the season? Lions, 49ers and ?
by SBC34 3:47PMGIven what’s happened in past seasons under Fisher, I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Rams jump up and upset Cincy or Arizona.
by jthomas 3:48PMHow can not one coach on the sideline or booth see that Keenum was concussed? I have to call Fisher out on this when he didn’t take responsibility. Shame.
by Mark 3:48PMI think the injury spotter needs more authority. Even with the Rams trainer out there, I think Keenum should’ve been taken off the field.
by jthomas 3:49PMWould you be surprised to see this team end up 4-12?
by Grim Reaper 3:49PMYes.
by jthomas 3:49PMI’ve watched the Rams for 25 years. It’s been a real QB wasteland. Warner is by far the best, Bulger 2nd. Who is 3rd best in that time? Bradford or Chris Miller? I say Miller, he was good before his concussion issues.
by STH85 3:49PMYeah, I’d have to go with Miller. We only saw a little of him in St. Louis because of the concussion issues, but he threw a good deep ball.
by jthomas 3:50PMYou mentioned that Fisher doesn’t like to take receivers high in the draft, well that philosophy has netted him this offense… time to re-think that approach?
by Tackleberry 3:50PMEasier said tan done.
by jthomas 3:50PMWhy have the Rams gotten away from the jet sweep with Austin. They only used it once last week and it popped for 16 yards. I get teams are prepped for it, but until they can stop it…..
by JB 3:51PMI hear you.
by jthomas 3:51PMJim, I have been on the Rams bandwagon for fifty years now. I’m thinking about jumping. What is there to look forward to anymore?
by oldrammer 3:51PMOK. Cheer up. I know it’s bad. . . . .
by jthomas 3:52PMShould Isaih Battle not be the first player on the team bus? Is this a cause for conc
ern?
by simdaddy 3:52PMYou’d think so. . . .and yes.
by jthomas 3:52PMWe all know every team has good players and I believe the Rams are above average, but It all starts with a QB. If we can draft 4 or 5 OL in one draft, why can’t be bring in 4 or 5 young QB and try that?
by L Monte Slim 3:52PMThat may be next.
by jthomas 3:52PMI am not sure there has been a St. Louis coach of any sport that has been as unsuccessful yet as stubborn as Fisher has been with this offense. Even LaRussa would relent from his ways when the writing on the wall was clear.
by Tackleberry 3:53PMSpags was pretty stubborn.
by jthomas 3:53PMJim, Thanks again…10 games into this season and welcome to the past (Bulger, Warner, Everett,?). We now have two new QBs w/ shell shock syndrome. I don’t ever recall seeing this tendency else ware in the league and not to this extent. I really feel sorry for Case after seeing him grasp his head and stumble around after that hit.
by Dick Bass 3:53PMYeah, it looked bad with Keenum. Not ready to say the guy is shell-shocked.
by jthomas 3:54PMIf the Brown give up on Johnny Football, can you try him?
by L Monte Slim 3:54PMPlease stop.
by jthomas 3:54PMWould be nice to have a few veteran Oline guys in the back pocket. A major free agency gaffe?
by simdaddy 3:56PMYa think?
by jthomas 3:56PMMaybe the team as a whole is not playing well because they have relocation issues on their mind?
by David 3:56PMI know we’re all groping for answers, but It didn’t seem to be bothering them when they started 4-3.
by jthomas 3:56PMDon’t the Rams have a walk through or light training on Saturday morning before they depart for the airport. If so, how did they miss the bus.
by Ramsfan 3:57PMAll I know is they missed the bus. They could’ve left after the walk-through. Or missed the walk-through.
by jthomas 3:58PMIt would be nice to get a new fresh start next year with a new owner, head coach, QB, and Rams committed to play in STL long term.
by Rams 3:58PMWe’ll see.
by jthomas 3:58PMPivotal point of the year so far? I nominate not getting Gase or Roman in as OC, whatever it took – money, fancy title, houses, cars…
by Uncle Leo 3:59PMInteresting. I don’t know if the Rams really had a chance for either.
by jthomas 3:59PMTalked to Demoff lately? How is he holding up given all the move chatter? Is he focusing on this team, this season, or like Kroenke he is just biding time waiting?
by Uncle Leo 4:00PMNot a lot lately. A few texts here and there.
by jthomas 4:00PMIs Mannion on Active Roster on game days?
by simdaddy 4:01PMNo, he’s been a pregame inactive.
by jthomas 4:01PMWhy can’t anyone at Rams Park give Fisher the same ultimatum that the Rams gave Vermeil re: offense? They are basic mirror images of one another in terms of NFL success. Both made but didn’t win a Super Bowl prior to St. Louis.
by Tackleberry 4:02PMJohn Shaw and Jay Zygmunt don’t work here anymore.
by jthomas 4:02PMFor the love of God, why. Jim, why? Did we tick off an old gypsy woman or something. Whatever it is, I’m sorry!!! MAKE THIS GROUNDHOG DAY NIGHTMARE END!!!!!!
by wiley 4:03PMThere are days when I basically feel the same way. Time to go. Practice about to start. Until next week Happy Thanksgiving . . . .
