Jim – Any speculation on how close Peacock and Blitz are to finalizing the finance portion of the stadium?
by McGarrett 3:04 PMJust saw about 15 minutes ago that the St. Louis task force has sent in its term sheet on how they will finance the stadium into the NFL.
by jthomas 3:06 PMis it me or does gurly seem to do better late in the games? why dosent he start strong, both teams make adjustments but why cant he get it going in the first half
by ramwrap 3:06 PMI’m sure the Rams would love for Gurley to start faster. But you’ve still got a new line, a new qb, a new coordinator, a new RB (Gurley). So I’m sure there’s a little bit of a feeling out process and adjustment process as the game goes along. Gurley did have 64 yards rushing by halftime last Sunday.
by jthomas 3:08 PMHow do you think Cignetti is doing as a play-caller? How much freedom from Fisher does he enjoy, if any?
by Safety Blitz 3:09 PMI guess OK. As I mentioned in my earlier answer on Gurley and the slow starts to the running game the past two weeks, there are a lot of moving parts on offense at this time. He has shown some creativity in some of his play-calling. But the Rams still rank last in total offense and are among the NFL’s lowest-scoring teams. Lots of work to be done.
by jthomas 3:11 PMAny problems for Earth City from what’s going on at the Bridgeton and Westlake landfills?
by Rams Fans United 3:11 PMNot that I know of. But now that you mention it my computer is glowing.
by jthomas 3:11 PMHow’s Foles moving about today? Any talk of retirement? Poor guy.
by Cutman 3:11 PMHe seemed to be moving around just fine.
by jthomas 3:12 PMAndy idea how much faster/better Gurley will be without the brace?
by Rams Fans United 3:12 PMCertainly, he’d be a little faster. I guess he still wore it during the Green Bay game although he didn’t wear it last week in practice.
by jthomas 3:13 PMLast in total offense, is this a product in part by how fisher has built this team
by klusie 3:13 PMI thought you knew. It’s all Schotty’s fault. And Bradford’s.
by jthomas 3:13 PMwhat have you heard on long and saffold? any updates?
by ramwrap 3:14 PMHere’s a link to a story on the Long, Saffold issues. (There was nothing new on Saffold today.)
Good news on Long, more tests for Saffold : Sports
stltoday.comBoth veteran starters suffered first half injuries in Green Bay.
by jthomas 3:16 PMAny news on Kenny?
by Cutman 3:16 PMBritt? He returned to the game Sunday after only a brief absence and practiced Tuesday.
by jthomas 3:17 PMThe Rams run way less plays of offense than anybody else. What’s that about? Is it by design or circumstance?
by Rams Fans United 3:17 PMThat’s what happens when you don’t make first downs, have trouble running the ball, and are near the bottom of the league in third-down conversion rate.
by jthomas 3:17 PMJim me and son went Greenbay game Sunday. Seen a lot rams fans there. The O line has to get going and QB play and also so of those dropped balls was uncalled for a NFL player. I know Cook is being paid a lot of money but I paid a lot of money for my season tickets. Just so mad and frustrated that we could have won that game.
by Todd Higgins 3:18 PMThere’s no better setting than Green Bay and Lambeau Field to watch a game is there? Yeah, the Rams had their chances to steal a game up there, didn’t they.
by jthomas 3:20 PMjim, what was up with the clock management sunday in 4th quarter? seems fisher left a lot of time on clock
by ramwrap 3:20 PMYeah, it would’ve been nice to see more of a hurry up offense.
by jthomas 3:20 PMMark Barron played mostly linebacker against the Packers. What’s your evaluation on how he played
by Lafan 3:20 PMPretty well. He seems very natural up there, blitzing, helping out on run support. He also had three pass breakups.
by jthomas 3:21 PMWhere do we rank now in passing offense? Thanks!
by Tom 3:21 PMNo. 30, ahead of only San Francisco and Minnesota in passing offense.
by jthomas 3:22 PMDespite beating Seahawks and Cardinals, this team looks eerily similar to last 2 seasons. Your thoughts?
by Kevin 3:22 PMNo, I think this is still potentially Fisher’s best team. Now “best team” may only be good for 9-7, but the defense has been pretty consistent w/the exception of first half in Washington. We knew the offense would have their ups and downs, especially early. Their early season schedule of Seattle, Pittsburgh, Arizona, and Green Bay has been very tough. The Rams’ first five opponents are 16-9. Their next five opponents are 8-16.
by jthomas 3:27 PMWith our weak schedule ahead after the bye week I’m thinking playoffs. What do you think?
by Grant 3:27 PMDon’t know about playoffs. I still think they can finish 9-7.
by jthomas 3:27 PMjIM I LIVE IN THE PHILLY AREA, AND YOU SHOULD HEAR SOME OF THIER PRESS CONFERANCES, WITHOUT YOU OUT THERE DON’T THINK THERE WOULD BE ANYTHING SAID, SO THANKS FOR KEEPING US INFORMED.
by ramwrap 3:27 PMThe press sessions as a whole have been very lightly attended this season. Somebody has to ask the questions.
by jthomas 3:28 PMAny news on who the Rams might get at the trade deadline?
by Grant 3:29 PMWe’re still a few weeks ago from that _ trading deadline is Nov. 3. Rams may not do anything.
by jthomas 3:29 PMI got the impression from post-game comments that members of our D are getting pretty frustrated with our O. Your view?
by Tom 3:30 PMI’m not sensing that.
by jthomas 3:30 PMI’m not a big Fish fan. Onto his 4th year and it’s like Groundhog day all over again. Same mistakes, same excuses, etc.. Is there any chance that he may try to go save the FB program at his alma mater (it would give him a good excuse to get out of here without admitting failure)?
by scubado 3:30 PMI don’t think Fisher is going back to USC.
by jthomas 3:31 PMJim with an easier schedule coming up (Browns looking tough now) and with the early wild card positioning I think we can make it as a wild card if the Rams can get Gurley going early in the game and Foles protects the ball more. 9-7 might get it done.
by Cutman 3:31 PMIt might.
by jthomas 3:32 PMRead a posting where Stan bought a couple of radio stations in Denver. Your thoughts? Could that add weight to the rumors of Stan making a play for the Broncos so he can own the Denver pro sports market?
by Den 3:36 PMI wouldn’t read too much into it with respect to the Broncos. Kroenke likes to buy things.
by jthomas 3:37 PMIs Nick Foles the new Jay Cutler? He’s now alternating games of brilliant QB play with bonehead QB play?
by Uncle Leo 3:37 PMFoles took a pounding from the Green Bay pass rush. He just needs to take a little better care of the football. I.e., sometimes it’s better to take a sack than throw the ball up for grabs.
by jthomas 3:38 PMHey Jim,
It feels like this is actually finally our tipping point season. The team seems to have reached a point of cohesion in spirit and potential on offense once they get a bit more time together. The opportunities were there, the fight was there, the execution on offense lacked consistency and in the first quarter an odd urgency that seemed unnecessary. I think they come out flying after the bye and with a forgiving part of the schedule to allow them to build and grow on offense.
by Ramsfan67 3:38 PMDon’t know if it’s a tipping point, but the schedule does lighten up, the defense is playing with consistency, and the team has found a running game with Gurley.
by jthomas 3:39 PMJim, did Jake Long ever find a job elsewhere? Would it be prudent with Saffold’s uncertainty for Snead to make a call, or is Jake toast at this point?
by ClevelandGary 3:41 PMJake Long signed with Atlanta a few weeks ago.
by jthomas 3:42 PMJIM GOING TO RAVENS RAMS GAME HERE IN A MONTH, YOUR ODDS GIVINS BLOWS BY JENKINS FOR GAME WINNING TD
by ramwrap 3:42 PMNot out of the realm of possibility, but Jenkins playing pretty well lately.
by jthomas 3:43 PMJim-I hear a lot of talk about it but we just continue to see these slow starts that leave us in a hole right iff the bat. Right off the bat we found ourself once again in a hole of our own making. What kind of steps can the team make to correct this?
by David Majors 3:43 PMWell, last year the team was pretty good at scoring points on their first possession. Not the case so much this year with the young offense and all the new parts over there on that side off the ball. It’s tough to spot anyone, much less the Green Bay Packers _ at Green Bay _ 14 points. The key is getting something going early offensively, and that’s something that the team is looking at during the bye week.
by jthomas 3:45 PMDid the Rams scouting department overrate the offensive line draft picks or is this the result of draftees being thrown into the fire of having to adjust to the NFL after playing their last college play only 9-10 months ago?
by Den 3:46 PMI think it was optimistic to think you could start a line with 2 rookies, a second-year player, and a relatively inexperienced center (no matter who won the job), and have things run smoothly right off the bat.
by jthomas 3:47 PMI get the impression Sheldon Richardson doesn’t really care about the trouble he is in or what he did.
by David 3:47 PMI haven’t really followed that one, so can’t offer an opinion one way or another.
by jthomas 3:48 PMThe team has a long list of players about to hit free agency. Are you surprised at least a couple of extensions haven’t been finalized by now? Is Demoff still trying or all player contracts are on hold until Kroenke knows for sure where his team is playing and which team he owns in 2016?
by Uncle Leo 3:48 PMYeah, I thought we’d have more than one player re-signed by now (Foles). I think the Rams are still trying. They do have some cap room _ more than $6 million.
by jthomas 3:49 PMJim, any update on Ogletree? Even after missing a game and a half he’s still top 10 in tackles in the league. That’s a big pair of shoes to fill.
by ClevelandGary 3:49 PMSaw him briefly in the locker room with a cast on the surgically-repaired ankle/fibula and maneuvering around on a scooter. If he returns this season, it’s not gonna happen until about mid December.
by jthomas 3:51 PMI thought our pass defense was better with Ayers replacing Ogletree and Barron playing more. Rogers was forced to scramble several times as a result of no open receivers.
Any thoughts, Jim
by OrRamfan 3:51 PMAyers wasn’t on the field all that much, so I don’t know if you can attribute the coverage to his presence. but yes, I thought the Rams coverage was very good against Green Bay (w/a couple of obvious exceptions).. It was pretty good the week before against Arizona as well.
by jthomas 3:52 PMHey Jimbo! OK, I changed my mind. Do you have Dave Peacocks number and possibly Mayor Slay’s? I’d really like to sit down with them sometime this week. Thanks!
by E. Stanley Kroenke 3:52 PMI’m sure they’d be glad to hear from you.
by jthomas 3:52 PMAny thoughts on when Quick could make a return to playing a significant part of the offense?
by Patrick 3:53 PMHe’s working his way back in. He went from six plays and zero targets against Arizona to 20 plays and three targets against Green Bay.
by jthomas 3:53 PMI liked the Ayers signing at the time, good player, Super Bowl winner, maybe some locker room leadership, etc… Zero tackles in Green Bay and barely played. Am I missing something? Is this another underperforming Rams free agent signing?
by Uncle Leo 3:54 PMThey didn’t pay the guy a ton of money to come here. Although I thought he’d play a little more than he has so far at this point. But overall, I don’t have strong feelings either way – pro or con – on his play or the signing at this point. I didn’t expect him to come in and re-invent the strongside LB position.
by jthomas 3:56 PMWho was playing the majority of the snaps in place of Ogletree, if it wasn’t Ayers?
by OrRamfan 3:58 PMBarron played a lot more, Ayers played a little more, Bates was in for a handful of plays as well.
by jthomas 3:58 PMAny details on the financing proposal just submitted, specifically the city funding? I worry about the need for city funding outside of the $6mm extension of the current bonds
by Patrick 3:58 PMI don’t have anything for you on this. Just found out about it myself right before I hopped onto the chat. I was a little surprised the term sheet was sent in given the fact that the Board of Aldermen still has to act on the city piece of the financing.
by jthomas 4:00 PMWas Kroenke in Green Bay? Do you think the owners of the Pack would consider moving their team to Los Angeles?
by MiniBlind 4:00 PMDidn’t see Kroenke this week.
by jthomas 4:00 PMJim I have a theory about why not many fans are showing up at the games. Besides the losing I mean. There must’ve been about 50K – 60K Original PSL holders from 1995. I would guesstimate that there are a good 20K that have stopped buying their season tix due to poor play over the years. I bet many of them WANT to come back but they do not because the Rams have already taken their PSLs away — so to come back now would leave a bad taste in their mouth because they lost a lot of money losing those PSLs. The original rule was you lost your PSL if you didn’t buy the tix every year.
by Terry 4:02 PMI do think if the team was playing better there would be more fans in the stands. Not having a winning season since 2003 is a pretty long dry spell.
by jthomas 4:02 PMI bet $20 in vegas on Browns win. I have confidence in Fisher he wouldn’t disappoint me and have the troops ready to play down to the opponent just like the last 3 years.
by Player 4:03 PMTough crowd.
by jthomas 4:03 PMAdmit it, Jim: you envy my hair.
by Clay Matthews 4:03 PMI like my hair.
by jthomas 4:03 PMJIm, Green Bay’s overly praised linebacker used his helmet to hit Noles right in the chest and nothing was called, why?
by ISU4U 4:03 PMI think the referee, who I believe would make that call, was screened by Foles on the play.
by jthomas 4:04 PMThis may sound like a silly question but do you believe Todd Gurley is at full strength now ?
by Eric 4:04 PMTraditionally, players returning from ACL surgery are better in their second year back.
by jthomas 4:05 PMIn response to Terry original PSL owners haven’t lost them for non use. I renewed mine this year after several years of not purchasing season tickets.
by Steverino 4:05 PMInteresting. . . .
by jthomas 4:05 PMAt Jeff Fisher press conference you seem to be the only one asking questions, are you the only one there ?
by Eric 4:05 PMThere’s only about a half-dozen reporters at many of them. A lot of media “experts” on the team don’t attend them. Been that way for several years, but it’s even more noticeable this year.
by jthomas 4:07 PMCan’t we come up with an offensive scheme where Nick Foles doesn’t get hammered so much. We now have a stud running back to work with. I think the offensive game plan against the Packers was bad. We could keep Harkey in as a personal protector if we have to. Gurley’s good on pass pro too. Play action on 1st down works well.
We need to keep the defense off balance, and you’d think with Gurley and Austing we’d have the weapons to do it. We must protect our quarterback.
by OrRamfan 4:07 PMNo doubt the pass protection needs to improve. And you’d think if anything the emergence of the running game would open some things up for the passing game. That obviously wasn’t the case in Green Bay. But also, I think we need to give credit to Green Bay’s defense. Aaron Rodgers gets a lot of the credit, and deservedly so, but I think this is one of the best Packers defenses in years.
by jthomas 4:10 PMSorry JT. Just a by product of losing for years is bringing the cynicism out. Hope Rams Win against Browns. Go Rams!
by Player 4:10 PMI know.
by jthomas 4:10 PMPermalink
With 1/4 of the season gone who got the better player Eagles or Rams?
by AzRamsFan 4:10 PMIt’s pretty close right now by the numbers. Foles has a 77.6 passer rating, 6 TDs, 5 INTs, and a 57.4 completion percentage for a 2-3 team. Bradford has an 83.7 passer rating, 8 TDs, 6 INTs, and a 63.2 completion percentage for a 2-3 team. Bradford is throwing nearly 10 more passes per game _ he has 190 attempts to Foles’ 141.
by jthomas 4:14 PMJust saw that Trey Watts was released.
What happens to this slot?
by David Majors 4:14 PMHe wasn’t on the active roster. He had been given a 1-week roster exemption once his 4-game NFL suspension ended. So he hadn’t been taking up a spot on the 53-man roster. Rams will try to re-sign him to the practice squad if he clears waivers today.
by jthomas 4:16 PMJim, I was shocked that the Rams didn’t throw any screen passes or quick hitters to slow down the Packers rush. Bad coaching..
by ActionJackson39 4:17 PMthey tried a couple of times without success. But I would’ve thought they’d go to it more often.
by jthomas 4:18 PMTrey Mason tradeable now? Maybe KC and get the 3rd pick back. Seems like Cunningham is a better 3rd down option and its clear Gurley is a workhorse
by simdaddy 4:19 PMDon’t think you’d get a third-rounder back for Mason at this point. I’d like to see Rams keep him. Nothing wrong with having some depth at the position.
by jthomas 4:20 PMHow does Nick Fairley help this team?
by simdaddy 4:20 PMHasn’t had much of an impact so far, if that’s what you’re getting at.
by jthomas 4:20 PMWas it play calling or lack of separation that prevented Foles from getting the ball out quick? Or was it Foles?
by Tom 4:21 PMDidn’t see much separation going on. Also, the pass rush seemed to be getting in very quickly.
by jthomas 4:21 PMHi Jim, Do you think StanK got a pass from the NFL on the crossownerhip issue (selling his other teams to his wife, seriously?) because they are leaning toward leaving the Rams in St. Louis.
by STLFootball 4:22 PMThat’s an interesting question. I think Kroenke sure got off easy, “selling” the teams to his wife. Really? That solves any potential conflict of interest?
by jthomas 4:23 PMHi Jim. Hope you had a good weekend. Thanks for the chat. I never thought the Rams would leave 16 pts (3 kicks and pick in the end zone) on the board possibly 20-23 with the game ending pick. Do we really win this game otherwise?
by Cutman 4:24 PMThey certainly had their chances to make a game of it, even after falling behind 14-0.
by jthomas 4:24 PMJim any reason why on IPhone I have to sign out and back in between every question?
by Cutman 4:24 PMNo idea, Cutman. Technology not my strong suit.
by jthomas 4:24 PMjim I heard from bradshaw ect.. rams are as good as gone, so lets talk football.
by ramwrap 4:25 PMAnd of course, Terry Bradshaw is widely considered the world’s foremost expert on relocation matters. So yeah, let’s talk football.
by jthomas 4:25 PMIt doesn’t seem like a two headed monster with Gurley and Mason. I don’t think Mason gets more than a few touches a game from this point on, which seems ok with Gurley’s success…your thoughts?
by Jim – \”The Intern’s Dad\” 4:26 PMThat seems to be where it’s headed. We’ll see. Although Gurley won’t last long if he continues to get 30 carries a game.
by jthomas 4:26 PMThe hit by Mathews on foles looked like he hit him helmet first his head down square in the chest. Foul or not
by TIM 4:26 PMI think it should’ve been called.
by jthomas 4:27 PMWhy did so many pass rushers get in untouched to pressure Foles?
by Tom 4:27 PMThat’s the question isn’t it? Not a good day at the office for the pass blockers. However, there’s not one easy answer or just one or two players to blame for the problem. And as I mentioned earlier, part of it is just the fact that Green Bay’s pass rush _ and it’s entire defense for that matter _ is very, very good..
by jthomas 4:29 PMThanks for the time as usual Jim. I have to believe that infact the Rams were just couple to plays away for being 4-1 maybe. Couple of dropped passes here and there, another field goal or two and we would be sitting on a bit better record. I hope the staff takes a look at more drop off and swing passes to the backs out of the back field. With Gurly in the mix now, I would think it is time to test out his pass catching skill out of the back field and turn him loose. Agree?
by SoCalWalt 4:29 PMYeah, I hear what you’re saying, although the Rams could be just a play or two away from being 1-4 or even 0-5 as well. The Rams do need to expand Gurley’s role to the point where he’s involved in the passing game. He came to the Rams with a pretty good reputation as a pass catcher. Fisher, in fact, mentioned on his radio show Monday that Gurley needed to be worked into the passing game.
by jthomas 4:32 PMGA.Jim it shows why the rams have a below avg.oline they really wanted jo barksdale back and the charger’s have him listed or rated 3rd string on the depth chart …..is it time let saffolf go to now we no whely the raiders didn’t want him .your thoughts
by ROC 4:32 PMDidn’t Barksdale play left tackle for the Chargers on Monday night?
by jthomas 4:33 PMEven with the loss, the GB game made me optimistic. Gurley is for real, and should be faster w/o the brace. The defense is for real facing down some of the top defenses in the league. I think they might make the playoffs. Do you agree?
by Shedrow 4:34 PMI think the team still has the potential to compete for a wild-card berth.
by jthomas 4:34 PMWill they make the term sheets that were turned in public?
by Dano 4:35 PMDon’t think so.
by jthomas 4:35 PMRams pass defense last week was darn good save for a couple of plays. Has Williams seen the benefit of mixing press and soft coverage calls that worked well against Mr. Rodgers?
by Safety Blitz 4:37 PMFor a change there was much more press coverage than off coverage vs. Green Bay, and it worked out pretty well overall. I wonder if we’ll see more press coverage in the future based on what happened against the Packers.
by jthomas 4:39 PMThis may sound pretty stupid (I’ve always been a glass half full guy)….. but I was actually encouraged on Sunday that they played a top NFL team at their place, did everything they could do to get blown out and yet were still hanging around in the 4th quarter. A couple of plays and they actually win it.
by schaef21 4:41 PMI couldn’t help thinking back to the 2011 game in Green Bay. The Rams lost 24-3, but the way the game went it seemed more like 240-3. This time only seven points difference in the score _ 24-10 _ but the teams to me seemed much more evenly matched. So yeah, I get your point. But the Rams need to start winning more of such contests.
by jthomas 4:43 PMSure seems like passing game can’t get much traction. In face of GB’s rush, it appeared near hopeless. How’s things looking this week as they ready for the browns?
by MJ 4:44 PMCleveland is ranked 31st in the league in total defense _ 31st in rushing defense, 19th in passing defense. Might be Gurley time again.
by jthomas 4:45 PMIf Reynolds has a problem at RG, is Donnal, Wichmann or Rhaney the best option?
by Shedrow 4:47 PMReynolds should be fine at RG.
by jthomas 4:47 PMThe Ram offense ignores throwing to running backs other than Tavon. Foles needs outlets since this o-line is possibly the worst in the NFL. Fish seems brain dead as an offensive mind. Do you think Fisher knows his job is safe until the relocation mess is sorted out?
by Safety Blitz 4:48 PMAs we mentioned earlier, Foles needs to start throwing to Gurley. Fisher said as much himself. But Cunningham has been used a lot as a receiver; he’s among the league leaders in fact, in third down catches.
by jthomas 4:49 PMwith all the swings and misses on RB and WR is it finally time to take a hard look at our scouting department
by klusie 4:49 PMRams have made a lot of changes in their scouting department in recent years.
by jthomas 4:50 PMHi Jim it must be some sort of rookie record for Gurley’s last 2 games? Also I really think we could have won. I think we can compete with any team, what with our defense
by Bigdavewave 4:50 PMIt’s pretty rare. According to the NFL, Gurley is only the third rookie RB to have back-to-back games of 140 yards plus _ both on the road _ in the past 40 years. (Others are Mike Anderson and Curtis Martin.)
by jthomas 4:53 PMMaybe it was because of the pressure, but Foles looked pretty inaccurate all day. He under threw some guys open on deep routes, and threw behind Kendricks on the first interception in the red zone. And he showed some very bad judgment. Or am I being unfair?
by Tom 4:53 PMI don’t think you’re being too unfair.
by jthomas 4:53 PMYOUR ODDS AUSTIN DAVIS COMES IN AND BEATS US WITH A HAIL MARY IN 2 WEEKS?
by ramwrap 4:53 PM10-90. Davis hasn’t been playing in Cleveland.
by jthomas 4:54 PMDo you think Gregg Williams will get a shot at the head coaching position at Miami. Their owner wanted Fischer previously, why not get the next best thing in Williams.
by ramsfan 4:54 PMDon’t think that’s happening.
by jthomas 4:54 PMJim I respect that you are better informed than I am but I am reading the tea leaves much different. I saw that you upped the Rams chances of staying. There was an anti-trust lawyer on TV yesterday who said NFL would be powerless to stop Kroenke from moving on his own. Furthermore much of the news coming out of last week’s Owners meetings was how moderates are pushing for a Rams-Chargers compromise. I just don’t see any way fathomable that the NFL grants LA to the Raiders who offer nothing and reject all Kroenke has put together. I just can’t see it.
by James 4:55 PMI pushed it up one (1) percent.
by jthomas 4:55 PMCan the Rams afford to keep both Janoris and Trumaine? Do teams ever use the bye week to work on new deals?
by Jim 4:56 PMYeah, they can afford both. And yeah, they can work on something during the bye week.
by jthomas 4:57 PMJT, was there any comment of officiating? One of the GB TD’s seemed like a pick play and then the national TV announcer was pretty vocal in that pass interference should have been called on the play that the CB tipped the ball away from Quick in the endzone.
by STCFan23 4:58 PMNo, really not much on the officiating at all.
by jthomas 4:59 PMGurley better than SJ?
by SicilyFitz 4:59 PMPotentially, yes. And I underline potentially.
by jthomas 5:00 PMDo you think with the kind of offense Fisher wants to run it would be wise to get a full back and then have two pass blocking TE on roster?
by Len 5:00 PMHarkey basically is the fullback. Kendricks is a pretty good blocker.
by jthomas 5:00 PMSeem to be submitting quite a few questions today. I got the impression that Foles was somewhat Bulgarized. I also saw an interesting stat that we didn’t throw a 1st down pass in the 2’nd half until desperation garbage time. Seems to me that is a rather profound weakness. Gurley’s running necessitates defenses stacking the box. That should have opened up passing lanes.
by David Majors 5:01 PMYeah, wouldn’t be bad to mix it up a little more on first down.
by jthomas 5:01 PMRams are on a bye week, is Jim on a bye week as well? Kick back, watch a few games, catch up on the honey-do list?
by Uncle Leo 5:01 PMDoesn’t quite work that way. I will take a couple of days off over the weekend, however.
by jthomas 5:02 PMWhat did you think of Jerry Jones’ dismissal of the St. Louis stadium naming rights agreement saying that the amount would only buy a lobby in L.A.?
by H Thompson Merriwether 5:02 PMJerry Jones does business deals away from football with Stan Kroenke. He’s Kroenke’s business bro. Obviously, he doesn’t think much of St. Louis. But we’ve kind of known that for a while.
by jthomas 5:03 PMIs Zuerlein not a guy we can count on these days?
by Tom 5:03 PMThe 50-yarder was blocked. So not his fault. Did you see Datone Jones go right by Greg Robinson on that play?. Only 5 times in the entire history of the game has a field goal been made of 63 yards or longer. So scratch that one. On a 53-yard attempt, you basically have a 50-50 chance. So we can kind of blame Greg for that one.
