informal poll: Bradford

Right now Bradford leads the league in completion percentage (70%) and INT% (0%), and is 2nd to Ryan in qb rating (109.7).

So the informal poll question. Is this just Bradford in the right situation so it’s the same guy flourishing, or did he change?

Maybe there are other questions…if so, add them.

My own informal poll response is that no, he did not substantially change in any way. It;s the same guy, just in a good situation (which mostly consists of Turner). He played well through stretches with the Rams (when they had a relatively healthy OL and a running threat) and that he was just due to come through. IMO the people who dismissed him when he was a Ram just underestimated him. They confused Bradford when he was struggling with the bad circumstances (which was about half the time) with BRADFORD.

It’s also a little bit of having the right circumstances, but then he was doing well in the 2nd half of the season last year with the Eagles.

A lot of it, too, is Norv Turner.

BTW I don’t criticize the trade. I see how they thought they had to get away from a qb who injured the same knee twice.

Yeah, I agree with that. He’s the same guy he just happens to be in the perfect situation.

I think the Vikings have the best coaching staff in the NFC with Zimmer and Turner. Bradford couldn’t have landed in a better place.

I think it’s a combination. He’s improved and it’s a good situation for him. I’ve watched him a few times and one of the things I think I noticed is that he seems more composed in the pocket than what I remember.

I think it’s pretty obvious he’s grown as a player and I would expect him to. He did take advantage of his downtime with the Rams studying the game. One thing I notice when I see him play now is he has developed a great touch pass. My memory of him in 12′ was rifling the ball at receivers 10yds. away just like if they were 30yds away. He’s now throwing people open.

all of the above….
1) Bradford was playing great and was having a great season when he got hurt in Carolina.
2) Bradford was playing great in the preseason game in Cleveland.

Bradford never had any accuracy issues….

The guy was great in Oklahoma and was a good QB with the Rams with no surrounding cast.

No doubt in my mind that the Rams would have been in the playoffs last year if he stayed in STL and would better than 3-3 today…..

I think he lights up Philly this week…. but I’m surprised to see that the experts only have the Vikes at 2.5 favorites..

I ALWAYS pick the home dog, but this week, I’m giving up the points and taking the Vikes….I think they destroy philly and the Vikes play with a little extra incentive to play hard for Sam against his old team.

Well i imagine a lot of fans are gonna say this just proves Fisher is a lousy QB guru.

I dunno anything about Sam in Philly cause i dont pay any attention to him,
but my biggest concern with Sam will always be durability. It wont do Philly any good
if he’s Great for eight games and then gets hurt again.

So, my response would be ask me again after he’s played sixteen games in a row.

The thing is both knee injuries were not contact injuries. Sam has been blasted several times this year as both starting OT’s are out and he’s looking pretty tough. Watch the Vikes vs Packers game on GP and you’ll see what I mean.

I agree. He’s he same guy. He’s just in the right place and in good health. I’m happy for him. I’m still disappointed that he was traded by the Rams. I hope he stays in Minnesota and keeps tearing it for a few more years. That’s hard for me to say because I dislike the Vikings so much.
