I liked what I saw from Boras in his short time last season calling the shots. Boras showed in his short time last season he knows how to make in-game adjustments like a seasoned vet OC. Identifies what the defense is giving well and attacks. Boras can read an opposing defense as well as any of the top OC’s around the league. He may be largely an unknown in the National Media but not inside league circles.
The Boras/Groh marriage has an excellent chance of excelling. Groh should give Boras more/better options to attack the opposing defenses weakness. Better talent at both the qb and receiving options will certainly assist the effort.
It will be interesting to see what Boras can accomplish with better options in the passing scheme and better play from the qb position as well in the receiving options he has to work with.
Quick clearly did not believe he was ready physically to play early last season. It was a career threatening injury and a lot here will depend on how he accepts the challenge mentally. I have heard players speak on coming back from the more severe injuries prior (mostly knee’s) and the biggest challenge mentally is the acceptance that 90% is the new 100. I am rooting for Quick. He worked very hard to get back last season. Reports are Cooper is getting a lot of work with the ones. His comments when interviewed show a deep understanding of the game. Early returns indicate he was a real value in round 4, could be best receiver this class in 3 seasons from now?
I expect the OL to improve this season however they may still take a lot of heat on fan forums as I expect issues in the passing game as the young talent at qb, wr and TE hone their craft at this level. The pendulum is moving in the right direction, but success in 2016 imo will rely on the running game and defense.
