glazer just reported that fisher is considering starting goff NEXT week depending on how they do today.

Jared Goff could start Week 11 vs. Dolphins

    Adam Schefter

    http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/18037028/los-angeles-rams-turn-jared-goff-starting-quarterback-next-week

Los Angeles Rams rookie quarterback Jared Goff could start his first NFL game as early as next Sunday at home against the Miami Dolphins, league sources told ESPN.

If Case Keenum struggles Sunday against the New York Jets, the Rams will consider going to the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft as early as next week, when they return to Los Angeles to host the Dolphins. The Rams would like to trot out Goff for his first NFL start at home, in front of a friendly and receptive crowd. But before Los Angeles makes that decision, it wants to see how Keenum plays Sunday.

In his second season with the Rams (3-5), Keenum has completed 61.5 percent of his passes for 2,004 yards, with nine touchdowns and 11 interceptions in eight games. He ranks last in the league in Total QBR (39.6) among qualified starters.

It’s the 3rd qtr the Rams have 3 pts.

    Keenum has an 80.8 QBR.

He’s being outplayed by somebody named Bryce Petty?

    Anyone?

Yeah, I never heard of him either.

Welp, 7 days until the Jared Goff era officially begins I suppose, unless Keenum miraculously transforms into a QB that can carry a team that can only muster 39 yds rushing in nearly 3 quarters of a football game.

Well Miami makes perfect sense to Start Goff.

IF they dont start him at home against Miami
they’d have to start him on the road at NO,
or on the road at New England.

Or wait until the Atlanta game. I suppose thats possible.

Then they play the tough Seahawks in Seattle.
    Then Forty niners at home.
    Arizona’s tough D at home.

Just seems like Miami is a good choice. Or possibly Atlanta.

I agree that Miami would be the best time to start him. But does today’s win change anything? The Rams are only one game out of the third wild card spot. I mean, obviously a playoff spot isn’t a likelihood but if Fisher still thinks Keenum gives him his best chance to win, does he bench him when there’s still hope?

    Could Goff be a bust?

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

They should start Goff. The Rams are not a playoff team. And even if by some miracle they squeak out a #6 wildcard spot, they’d be one and done.

Start Goff at home. See what he does. If it damages his “pysche” then he was never a long term answer at QB to begin with.

Nothing is written in stone that he has to start in front of the home crowd…in fact, because I don’t think the ineffectiveness is all on CK, it might be good idea to start him away from the coliseum.

CK will continue to start as long as the Rams have a chance to grab a piece of that pie….did somebody say pie?

I guess he did enough to please Fisher.

When Case doesnt throw pick6’s they tend to win.

That’s the key for CK…manage the game…watch some games by Phil Simms and just do enough not to hurt the team.

I like CK but the Rams just don’t have the firepower to overcome 4 picks from him…hey, at least he isn’t fumbling it to boot.

Well, crap, ya know…Keenum isn’t why they are losing. They can’t run the ball. They cannot run. The running game is not working.

Goff could come in and elevate the Rams some…maybe. But at best they will still be #6 and out after one game.

They need to fix the running game. From 1st and goal 1 yard out…and no TD?

    From Fisher?

WTF is wrong with the running game?

Seriously, if Gurley was averaging – whatever – 80-90 ypg – what would the Rams’ record be?

It isn’t Keenum. At least, he isn’t the main reason.

RFIP noticed that the Rams are 2-1 when they DONT score any TDs.

So the analytix say the Rams need to only kick Field Goals
and then they have a chance to be a contender.

The problem is the offense often scores a TD or even two. Now Fisher must know the math.
And yet he continues to TRY to score TDs. That right there tells me all i need
    to know about Fisher.

I’m curious to see him play too, but I don’t think we’re going to see any appreciable difference.
At least not right away. So with that, I’m fine with Keemum playing. He doesn’t bother me.
The crowd in stands at home, on the other hand …. they’re done.

I think that starting Goff isn’t about winning THIS year. If you honestly think you can make the playoffs, stay with Case. If not–make the switch.

i would also add, the rams are not going to fix the running game, and the opponents won’t be as horrible as the jets.

yes, the running game isn’t meeting expectations….

but Keenum’s 11 picks with only 9 TDs in 9 games is also a factor for the loses….. throwing 11 picks is not exactly game management……
