I have no issue with having recency bias…. since how you are playing now is the only thing that matters… especially in the playoffs. He might not be fumbling anymore but he’s still turning the ball over. Why do you gloss over that.

When you look at Goff’s last five games…do you really feel comfortable with that level of play?

2 answers, all pure IMO. Though to me it’s the team’s last 6 games not just Goff’s last 5. (1) In general, in terms of Goff, yes, I am fine with him because I believe that although he had a rough patch in 2 of those 5 games, he gets over those. And, (2) what I don’t feel comfortable with is stuff that affects the qb (not just Goff) but which the qb does not single handledly cause: offensive woes in general, none of which reduce to qb play by itself. For example, two games worth of goal line troubles is one giant red flag.

    Game 16 … Cardinals

What a weird game … good lord. Exciting as a result … haven’t had excitement like that in a while … expectations have been too high.

What I think we should do at QB

    1) Dress Goff, start Wolford. Goff comes in if it’s too big for Wolford.

    2) Reasons … I believe it works, first off. Second, I think Wolford with 2 games of tape against decent defense is good for return on investment later. Third, I think the 3rd down scrambles might be more important in this game than Goff’s accuracy. We can only do it once IMO … and there’s no better team to do it against than one that knows our normal offense cold.

    The Great

    3) Winning to get into the playoffs with a backup QB. That means we have the right backup.

    4) Getting sacks when we needed them …

    5) First down scrambles.

    6) Legit read option threat.

    7) Troy Hill’s pick 6.

    The Good

    8) Wolford recovering from his first pass.

    9) Akers healthy.

    10) Gaines getting good push.

    11) Not gonna miss Everett.

    12) Goff being more an active participant cheering on Wolford than the previous week starting at QB. Guess that’s good and bad … just hope maybe it lights a fire under him.

    The Bad

    12) Am going to miss JJ3, Hill, Reynolds, and Floyd (and hopefully not Darious Williams)

    13) Man, that first pick was scary.

    14) How many pics were dropped?

    15) We weren’t really ready when Kyler came back in.

    The Ugly

    16) Everett’s missed TD. The throw was perfect. Like, if you’re running that route you hope he throws it to that exact spot …

Um…I have nothing but high praise for alyoshamucci.

But you do not use a playoff game to get tape on your #2 QB for information down the road. That is the dumbest thing he has ever said.

Just taking a guess here. Goff is a huge personal disappointment to some. It’s very emotional. IMO the problem is he not only makes mistakes, he makes embarrassing ones. Plus, there’s this “fire” thing. He doesn’t cheer on as a qb. I dunno, a lot of stuff is being said.

Last night, somewhere on this board, I saw a replay of Brady’s interception against the Rams. And iirc, he had two bad ints in the game. The one I saw was as horrifying as the one Goff threw, but I more-or-less forgot about that because I don’t mind it when opposing QBs make throws that cause the angels in heaven to avert their eyes.

Point is… it happens to the best of ’em.
