What tv shows are you folks watching? Do you have any “can’t miss” favorites.

    Here’s my list of favorites…

    Game of Thrones
    The Walking Dead
    The Americans
    Colony
Agents of Shield – I like this branch of the Marvel Universe and I’ll watch anything directed by Joss Whedon.

    Shows I’m watching on Netflix…

The Expanse – still trying to figure out if I like it.
Shitt’s Creek – comedy staring Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Chris Elliot
The Crown – about Queen Elizabeth*
Victoria – PBS show about Queen Victoria*

    * Although I’m not a fan of the English monarchy or any monarchy for that matter I do find these shows to be interesting. I don’t know how true to history they are but they are worth a look from a histertainment perspective.

I forgot about Magicians. That’s a good show. Sort of a Harry Potter for adults. I watched the first two seasons on Netflix.

At my house, we watch what my wife wants to watch. I rarely get my hands on the remote until 9:00 pm on weekdays or on Sundays afternoon during Football season.

One show that we have mutual interest in is Survivor. I think it would be a great model to use in place of our process to nominate candidates for president.

Two others I truly like courtesy of Netflix:

    Stranger Things

    Taboo

    Does MSNBC count?

My wife is really in to “Billions” and explained the entire last episode to me as we walked during lunch hour yesterday.

I caught a few episodes of “The man in the high castle” on Amazon Prime. I thought it was well done, but I’ve always been a sucker for alternate history stories (my favorite original Start Trek episode is “Mirror, mirror”).

Well I kind of don’t watch tv. It’s more like I watch tivo. I will tivo a coupla series and then binge watch. BUT what I usually tivo is documentaries. History and science docs. Like Air Disasters. I like the forensic feel of Air Disasters. And How the Universe Works.

I’m in a show vacuum right now. I’m waiting for “Game of Thrones” or “Orange is the New Black” or something else new to excite me. I’ve been on a show search for awhile but haven’t had much luck. I’m watching “Riverdale” right now–as a guilty pleasure. It’s actually a pretty good show. In case you don’t know it’s a live action “Archies” show but apparently “Archie” has gotten a LOT darker. Betty has a bitch of a mom and a sister in a psych ward. Archie was having sex with Miss Grundy(a sexy miss Grundy), Veronica’s dad is in jail from some sort of fraud and her mother is sleeping with Archie’s dad. Jughead’s dad is an alcoholic and Jughead is the dark kid who lives wherever he can. And there’s a murder.

I grew up on “Archie’s” cartoons and comics so I’m getting a kick out of the show.

What mutant powers does Archie have? I bet it is X-ray vision.

    Have you seen Peaky Blinders?

Based loosely on actual gang-life in Birmingham, England, cerca 1919 (to start with), it’s raw, gritty, suspenseful and compelling.

One of the best TV series I’ve ever seen. Well written, with excellent acting and direction — visually stunning too.

If you’re going to watch all three years, try to avoid spoilers online. Lots of big surprises along the way, etc.

Oh, and if you get Starz, “Black Sails” is excellent too. It’s a show that kinda flew under the radar, and most people don’t know about it. But it’s pretty cool. I mean, what more can you ask for? Pirates, great battles on land and sea, beautiful women, stolen treasure . . . . And, to make it even cooler, it’s the imagined prequel to Stevenson’s Treasure Island, set roughly 20 years before it.

I saw at least some episodes of “Peaky Blinders”. It was pretty good. I just lost track of it somewhere along the way. There are soooooo many shows now. I should try to pick up on it again. It was good.

Hap and Leonard is kinda quirky cool. Goliath was good hope they do another season but Billy Bob is more of a hit and run guy (Fargo). The Last kingdom was good but only 1 season.
