The “thin skinned whiny bitch” I’m referring to is Trump, not Hillary. Meaning, Bernie doesn’t want to be the one responsible for Trump winning the election.

Sorry, sometimes I assume that everybody watches “Real Time”. “Thin Skinned Whiny Bitch” is Bill’s favorite nick name for The Donald.

I’m honestly not trying to bait you, just probing a bit to try and figure out why you have the beliefs you do.

If you don’t mind me asking, did you grow up in a city or a small town? Where do you live now? Me, I grew up in Fairfield, CT. A medium sized town on Long Island Sound. I now live in Sandy Hook, CT, a village in Newtown, CT with my wife, 2 children and cat.

You stated you felt persecuted because of your religion. Again, if you don’t mind me asking, what is your religion? Me, I was raised Roman Catholic, but had that beaten out of me after 12 years of Catholic school (1st Grade through High school). I now consider myself an Atheist (until proven otherwise).

Will you leave the country if Hillary wins? Me, I’m considering it if Trump wins…

You never make much sense. BTW I’d give my own kids that advice.

Thank you! That is probably the nicest thing you have ever said to me. To be fair, I can’t make much sense of most of the positions you take here (although, if Trump (AKA thin skinned whiny little bitch) does get elected, there is a very unpleasant position that most of what is left of the Middle Class is going to have to take…

Don’t know if any of you watched the memorial service from Dallas, but I did.

W was there, and spoke for a few moments, but Obama spoke for like 45 minutes, and it was powerful. He addressed how difficult it is to be an overworked police officer, and also how difficult it is to be a minority in the present day.

He quote the bible several times, including the Old Testament (Ezekiel, I think) when he stated (and I paraphrase), “The Lord will take your heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh”. Basically stating that we, as Americans, need to open our hearts to each other.

Much better message than “Buck Up”, don’t you think?

I think, from his POV, Hillary is the lesser of two evils. Plain and simple; he knows he can’t get the nomination and he’s going to be damned if history remembers him as the reason the thin skinned whiny bitch wins the election.

WV, have you ever been asked to interview prospective students?

I’m getting so parent crazy about my son, I already asked two of the senior physicists I work with if they would host a mock interview with him.

If interviews are part of your gig, would you consider a mock phone interview? We already toured Yale (30 minutes down Route 34) and it is one of his choices. He scored great on the SAT, getting a 2320, and just got back his ACT score of 35.

    Thanks.

Obviously a proponent of tough love, bnw. That may work in a combat situation, but I don’t think it is healthy for a long term fix. Stiff upper lip results in stress, high blood pressure and death.

If I was that police supervisor, I’d be more concerned with the reaction of his seasoned vet than how I had to deal with the new kid.

Not sure where these cops are, big city or little town. Either case, I think the real solution is community outreach. The more non-cop-like things they can do with the general public, the better.

In the immediate aftermath of Sandy Hook, several volunteers showed up with Comfort Dogs. These were stationed at every school in town. If kids were feeling especially sad, they could go out of their class and give a Comfort Dog a hug. My daughter, especially said it was a big help and she talked at length to the volunteers minding the dogs.

Maybe cops should be the ones with Comfort Dogs. Small steps, but something has to be done to break down the “us” vs. “them” walls.

Kindness is an answer. Love is an answer. Respect is an answer. Love and respect are earned, kindness is a deliberate state of mind that can open the door to both.

For me, the vinegar and the sugar are non-starters.

I prefer a potato salad made from potatoes, eggs, celery, parsley, red pepper, mayo, bacon, onion, salt and pepper (maybe some fresh dill if you have it).

Most of the eggs get diced, but slice one up for the topper and dust with paprika.

This is my Polish grandmother’s recipe, minus the bacon. Just recently added the bacon, and it makes a huge positive impact.

Gonna try and bring this thread back to the here and now…

Just getting back from vacation, but it appears this has been another lone wolf attack.

How, did one angry individual manage to shoot so many people and kill 5? Maybe because he had a long gun with a huge fucking clip??

BNW stated in another thread that he had to attend a course where they told him to comply with cops to get his hide like a little girl carry permit. Good.

Soldiers going through boot camp need to be trained before they are allowed to train with their weapons. Good.

In what reality other than the one we are trapped in does it make any sense to be able to sell long gun, fire every time you pull the trigger type of death guns with huge magazines to any fucker who wants one?

Just wiped my ass with a false flag. We have to get these fucking death tools off the street.

Guns don’t kill people; people kill people. Yes, very true. But why give people the tools to kill so many other people??

Well, crowded is a relative term. Once upon a time, we took the kids to Disney World over an Easter Weekend. Cost a hell of a lot more than our normal Maine vacation, and half way through it, my daughter said, “Dad, I wish we were in Maine.”

How’s that for a kick in the nut sack?

ZN, I hope you don’t think it is weird that I come up to Maine but never reach out to meet you. It is the one week my family gets to get away. Hell, sometimes we don’t even tell family we’re there. I actually need to get you introduced to my sister, brother in law and niece who live in Portland. Kindred spirits for sure.

I think we need a Huddle Fest East this year; either the Pats game or the Jets game.

“Off the Internet” is kind of similar to “no cell phone service”.

I know it can challenge your faith, as it did mine, but I have experienced both on my last journey and am gerding my loins for a repeat event.

To add to the misery, the woman folk will start chanting, “Freeport, Freeport”.

There is nothing free about Freeport…

    ZN, you ignorant slut…

Does that count as humor, or personal attack? See, if I put my mind to it, I could come up with some very humorous personal attacks. Not that I want to or am going to, but just saying, it takes a village to raise an idiot.

Driving to Phippsburg, ME tomorrow for the family vacation. No Internet access (at least, that’s what I told my boss). Going to try and stay off the Internet and just enjoy my time with my family.

    Do try and get along…

    Oh, Billy…

Thoughts like your post above are EXACTLY why the NRA didn’t want to budge on any gun law. They were completely and rightfully afraid that it would all fall down like the house of cards it is.

Big doings this week in the congress, led by my Senators, I must say.

I hope what we are seeing continues.

Don’t worry. I’m sure they’ll get to her.
This actually may help Trump. People may burn out on yet another story why The Donald is a prick. It may be desensitizing the voters.

I honestly don’t like Hillary, but I can’t stand The Donald’s act at all.

Supreme Court lets stand law banning some semi-automatic assault weapons

Former Sandy Hook top cop pushing for safer guns 03:01
(CNN)The Supreme Court declined Monday to take up a constitutional challenge to a Connecticut gun law passed in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

The law bans certain semi-automatic assault weapons and large capacity magazines.
Although the decision comes days after the Orlando shooting, that event probably didn’t move the justices either way. In recent years the Court has declined to take up a major Second Amendment case. In 2008, 5-4 Supreme Court held in District of Columbia v Heller that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to bear arms, and except for a follow up decision two years later, the court has not weighed in again.
Since then, a raging debate has developed between gun rights supporters who say that lower courts are not heeding supreme court precedent and gun control activists who say they are pushing for what they consider reasonable restrictions.

    btw, today is Father’s Day.

Just as a hypothetical, do you think you could attend a forum on gun control with members of Sandy Hook Promise who may no longer be fathers because their child had been slaughtered and give the same glib responses you post?

Please really think about that before you post things like, “We already have enough restrictions.”

It is obvious to me and painfully, heartbreaking obvious to Sandy Hook Promise that we do NOT have enough restrictions.

That’s right, Billy Bob. And you too, Slim Jeans Pete: She is coming for your mother fucking guns! Every single hell spawned one of them!

    bnw:

Have you ever known someone, or several someones, who were slaughtered with a semi automatic rifle?

Have you ever tried to explain to crying, screaming, unconsolable children why people important to them had just been snuffed out like a candle, and had to explain to them why one little scrawny fuck was able to kill 26 people in such a short time??

If your answer is no, consider yourself lucky, because if things stay status quo, your luck, and everybody else’s luck is going to run out.

I saw sound bites from several “Baptist” preachers after Orlando. Unbelievable and totally disgusting that there are people alive in this country in the 21st century that can actually spew out that type of vitriol, especially after so many fellow Americans were just butchered.

BNW: I find it highly ironic that you are telling other posters that they are being too negative when it is the very policies you support that have made them so world weary. Can you see that?
