It’s just to me this should be a non issue. No one minded calling them the redskins for all those years. And now, some people who aren’t even Indian thinks it’s offensive. Hell, Snyder even had some native Americans in the booth with him sporting redskins gear a couple of weeks ago.
People that say “the r word” or the “Washington team” are just adding fuel to the fire imo. It’s only derogatory if used that way, and in 44 years of living i have never used it or heard it used that way. My grams was full blooded Cherokee and i never heard get say anything about a redskin or say that it offended her. Just my 2 cents worth.
znhaterBlockedThis is just getting ridiculous. I thought this was a football forum?

They shouldn’t have to change the name.Well no-one that i know of, has
ever argued they ‘have to’ do anything.
Its not about ‘have to’ — its about
what ‘should’ they do.
I think they ‘should’ — you think
they shouldnt, i guess.w
vWell eventually they will make them change it. The NFL, the government, someone will. It’s already heading that way.
But i don’t think they should have to. And why should they? The last thing i think of when i hear the redskins name is a racial slur. Everyone knows the skins are a football team. I see no problem with it. And I’m about half Indian myself.znhaterBlockedThey shouldn’t have to change the name.
znhaterBlockedTo me you only have to ask yourself one question – would he be a disappointment with his numbers as a second round pick? The answer to me is yes.
That being said, shotty doesn’t do his best to get him into the game. They force screens to him, but never much down field. Do the rams even run slants anymore?
znhaterBlockedIt’s time to start playing Bayer. He made a ton of plays in the preseason and the offense could use a boost.
znhaterBlockedAnd he played. He fit right in. Chipped in with a personal foul late in the game.
znhaterBlockedKnox got fired and Brooks had just been hired when it was announced they would move.
znhaterBlockedYeah what he said.
znhaterBlockedI was so pumped when they hired him. I was really looking forward to the rams becoming a solid team year in and year out. That hasn’t happened and I’m sick of his excuses. He’s sounding like Spags and we know how that ended up. That being said, i think Kroenke will keep him unfortunately.
znhaterBlockedI don’t think anyone should be having fun with the rams playing like they are.
znhaterBlockedOh well if laram said it, it must be true lol.

znhaterBlockedFisher is not under any pressure to win. He’s a transition coach brought into do two things and this is pretty obvious.
1. Rebuild the roster with young talent.
2. Assist in the move of the team to LA.Lets face it, his experience with the Oilers/ Titans move makes him an invaluable assett. He’s the perfect coach for the move. He’s the only coach really.
Watch Fisher on the sidelines and he never gets very upset. He’s getting this team ready to win but he knows its not going to be right now.
Grits
Wow. I hope your right man.
znhaterBlockedI don’t know about 45 that’s too close for comfort lol.
znhaterBlockedI might have put some money on the rams if it was 75 lol. But I’d have to think about it.
znhaterBlockedFisher is making a ton of money so he’s not going to resign, although he should. He will ride it out for as long as the owner allows it. This is just a sad sad situation.
znhaterBlockedI didn’t believe this was possible until 2001 when the paytoilets stole that SB. Now i have no doubt.
znhaterBlockedIf the defense plays up to the talent they have, they can shut down the niners. But will the defense finally come through?
znhaterBlockedCutting Jake long, Bradford, Wells and Langford should free up a bunch of money as well.
znhaterBlockedBark, Kendricks and Britt i would want back as the UFAs. Davis of course Also but that is about it.

The choice isn’t A) get an immediate impact player that turns into a stud or B) get a player that develops into a stud a couple years down the road. It’s more of a percentage breakdown. I actually just ran the numbers out of curiosity, for the players drafted in the first round from 2000 to 2004(did this so the final class would have a decade in the league so there was no question about what a guy developed into) the percentage breakdown is:
15% are immediate impact players that develop into studs
15% are not immediate impact players that develop into studs
15% are immediate impact players that develop into starters (but not studs)
15% are not immediate impact players that develop into starters(but not studs)
40% are busts
So I’m not going to complain if it takes a guy 2-3 years to develop into a stud or even a quality starter because he could have very well been a bust. And that’s ONLY looking at FIRST ROUND PICKS over that 5 year period.
Schemes, playbooks, responsibilities, and terminology differ greatly from college football to pro football. It’s not something you just know from playing football; it’s something you have to learn. It’s not about learning HOW to block. It’s about knowing what to do on each given play based on what the defense is showing both pre and post-snap.
I can easily believe that Robinson didn’t/doesn’t understand what’s going on enough to be more productive than Joseph because I’ve seen other young players forced onto the field in similar circumstances and make tons of mental errors due to that…errors that really hurt their team and hindered that player’s development.
People underestimate the mental side of playing on the line. If Robinson can’t be trusted to decipher and pick-up blitzes/stunts, he’s more of a liability than Joseph.
Joseph is good for a few irritatingly bad plays each game but doesn’t screw up on every play. If Robinson goes out there and can’t pick the blitz up, he’s going to get Davis pummeled. Because teams will recognize that and blitz the hell out of him. Worst of all, you risk destroying Robinson’s confidence and undoing the technical work you’ve done to this point. The Rams will get him on the field when he’s ready. If we know that Joseph is bad, you better bet the Rams do.
Why can other rookies start and be successful? Players mature and learn at their own pace…just like people. Some learn quicker than others. Some are more ready because of practical experience than others. Keep in mind that Matthews was a Senior, Robinson was a Sophomore. Matthews started four years in college. Robinson started two years in college. Matthews is the son of a HOF NFL OL and a current NFL OL Coach.
Hopefully, Robinson can be the difference maker on the OL when he plays.
I’ve seen Robinson play. He’s going to be a beast. I seen Jason Smith play, and he wasn’t ever going to be a beast. So i don’t like that comparison. I think Jake long is finished after this season anyway so Robinson will be playing there very soon imo.
znhaterBlockedCan’t fix stupid i guess.
znhaterBlockedHe lost me when he said the the safeties have flashed when he watched film. Don’t know what film he’s watching.
znhaterBlockedDemoff: I think our focus is on, you know, playing through the rest of the lease and seeing how things play out…
Not very reassuring. I don’t have a horse in the race. When the rams first moved to st.louis i was pumped because they were closer to me. Now i find myself hoping they go back. Maybe because my greatest memories of them is in Los Angeles and I’m older now. Not trying to stir the pot, just my opinion.
znhaterBlocked<span class=”d4pbbc-font-color” style=”color: blue”>He could play the nickel. But then what would you do with Joiner?</span>
Maybe he could play FS. He couldn’t be much worse then McCleod.
znhaterBlockedOne point about Quick.
Looking back, it seems completely clear that his problem in the past was lack of confidence, of the nerve that comes from knowing your capability. Now, some competitors are driven past that hesitancy from the beginning. But Quick clearly was crippled by self-doubt.
Now, he is showing his talent because he is discovering his confidence. He is beginning to assert himself.
As he asserts himself, he is having success and making plays. And there is no reason to assume that this growth process is over. There is room for him to continue a cycle of making plays, gaining MORE confidence, and making even better plays. I don’t assume that his ceiling has yet appeared.
And by the way, he has ALREADY made great plays! That 45 yard catch on the final drive was awesome, clutch, and physically assertive. I’m not altogether sure what more fans might want from him.
Post of the year there.
znhaterBlockedI beginning to worry about Austin. He doesn’t look like he will ever live up to his lofty draft status. I know it’s early on in his career but he’s a gadget player to me who doesn’t get the ball much. And when he does get the ball, it seems like they force the play. I want him to be great, but i just don’t think he ever week be.
znhaterBlockedI don’t get a good feel for this game. I wish i knew which Rams team will show up.
