Couple thing to note ZN.You were right on two counts.
1.The team needed time to learn the defense.
2.Davis has a weak arm and is still learning.cgsuddeathParticipantZN you were right. He doesn’t have the arm strength.
cgsuddeathParticipantDoes anyone know why the Rams don’t run screen plays?
cgsuddeathParticipantI have watched all the games this year. The game that I found so difficult to watch was the KC game. After the KO return I just walked out of the room and didn’t watch the rest of the game.
cgsuddeathParticipantBernie is a thin skinned blowhard. He will say anything to stir the pot. He’s still sore about how the Rams have basically phased him out so writes these negative OP’s and it’s getting old.
cgsuddeathParticipantTo all that post on this board,I do not want my comments to appear cruel as I do not know these players personally but I do think it is time to move on from Long and Wells. For the life of me I will never understand what is the issue with Saffold.
cgsuddeathParticipantIt started getting unbearable in the 3rd quarter so I decided to go to my office to get my mind off it.I didn’t see Wells go out but I did see Barrett on the field when Davis almost got sacked for a safety.

cgsuddeathParticipantYou know of course that Rams OLs have been eaten up with extensive injuries before.
But let’s assume that Jones and Robinson can play. Maybe full of young mistakes, but can still play.
You know–never in the multi-year history of Rams OL injuries have they had a Jones and a Robinson on the bench before.
This is different.
HOW different? Jeesh, I dunno.
My old formula was this–any OL has injury replacements, and so on. But if you have to replace as many as 3 guys including the OC and LOT, then teams just can’t play. The offense suffers.(I’ve been repeating that formula practically word for word for years now.)
But it may not be THAT level of bad if the depth at 2 key positions was your future anyway.
Ironically, though, I also remember the old Bulger debates. I don’t know if anyone here got into them, but back then, in 2007 and 2008, some of us kept saying that if the OL suffers massive injuries, the qb can’t play. On the old huddle, there were people who denied that. They put it all on Bulger. Today, some of the same people out on the net are claiming that the issue today was not Davis, it was the OL injuries. A complete about face.
And I agree, Davis suffered cause of the OL injuries. But then in 2007, so did Bulger. In the first half of 2012, so did Bradford.
I have even seen someone say this is the worst they have seen a Rams OL play. Well…no. It ranks right there with some of the worst OL games of 2007, 2008, and 2009 though.
I agree with you there as there are a lot of hypocrites out there. As for Davis,I think he is fine as a back-up but needs some seasoning but I certainly don’t think he is in the same class as Bradford.
cgsuddeathParticipantIf saffold can return I wonder if they keep him at guard and begin the Robinson at LT era now. Or will they keep GR inside for the remainder of his rookie year. I’m all for getting Robinson going at LT now. Although, Austin Davis and the rest of the rams QBs might feel differently.
I would rather have Robinson there.I have little faith in Saffold.

Torn ACL.
cgsuddeathParticipantLooks like long is out for the season again. So ends the Jake Long experiment
cgsuddeathParticipantWell I’ll say this,I’m glad Jones played but I have had enough Saffold.I usually don’t make such bold statements but I think the Rams should look into trading him or drafting a replacement. They guy just can’t stay on the field. He has only played one full season and has been injured every season. Some could say the same for Bradford but he has played 2 full seasons and if he had better protection may not have been injured as much considering the beating the poor guy has taken.
cgsuddeathParticipantThe interceptions against Dallas,Minn and SF still concerns me but it’s still too early to tell

Austin Davis play fakes and ball handling are vastly superior to Sam’s….and I started that before the TDJim Fadler @ jimiramsboy
You could clearly see the ball when Sam play faked, and he didn’t quite sell it enough…..Davis really does it #GoRamsJim Fadler @ jimiramsboy
On numerous running plays Austin Davis still sells it as if he still has the ball….followed him twice on the last drive. #HiddenThingsJim Fadler @ jimiramsboy

Rams persisting in blitzing schemes that don’t workJim Fadler @ jimiramsboy
I have thought for some time now that due to the #Rams rep for silly penalties the zebras don’t give any benefit of doubt….And will throw flags without the slightest hesitation….like on Cook last night. Are they even watching Quinn being held?
And you would think with Fisher being on the competition committee it would be the opposite…flags have followed him everywhere
Jim Fadler @ jimiramsboy
I have come here to kick ass and fix the #Rams….and I am fresh out of ideas to fix the Rams…#WhatToDo?Sorry but I don’t agree one bit with Fadler’s analysis of Bradford. It’s really obvious who the better quarterback is and it’s Bradford.
cgsuddeathParticipantBased on the last few weeks of terribly suspicious refereeing… I’ve been talking to a friend about how the “narrative” in the NFL seems to be following a script right out of the WWE and guided almost ham-handedly by the Refs.
Witness the Denver-Jets game. That game should have been as lopsided as the Baltimore-Tampa game, but the Refs refused to allow that. If the Jets hadn’t been so damned inept, they would have easily taken that game because the Refs did everything in their power to hand it to them. As someone who’s watched football my entire adult life, there’s not such a fine line between even “home cooking” type calls and the egregious non-calls and obvious phantom calls that are plaguing the game today.
And I’ll reiterate what I said earlier… when the replacement Refs were there, they made bad mistakes, but they didn’t do what’s being done now… and ya know? We saw teams win that normally don’t win. We saw teams NOT get any benefit of the doubt. We didn’t see many of these weird disparate games where one team had 11 penalties for a gazillion yards and the other team had 1 penalty for 5 yards. Now, we see several games like that EACH WEEK, it affects the games dramatically AND they seem to follow some narrative.
Now, I get that all of that is probably some “Beautiful Mind” stuff of seeing patterns that aren’t there. Okay, fine. However, I just really believe that something’s going on. People refused to believe anything was happening in the NBA until they found that Refs were fixing games. I’m just saying that it’s a possibility and the (to my mind) suspect refereeing only lends itself to that narrative.
So, what’s my point?
Well, based on all that, I talked with my friend a few weeks ago. Started with the 9er/Eagles game. I told him that there was NO WAY the NFL would allow them to go 0-2 in that new stadium. After watching the refs ensure that the Eagles couldn’t do anything o offense, the 9ers STILL almost lost that game… and that was with the Refs basically handing them the game.
With the Cards at 4-1 and Seattle at 3-2, I just can’t see the NFL allowing the 9ers, a team they still see as being one of the elite teams to fall to 3-3. If the 9ers are going to miss the playoffs, it won’t be because of the Rams…
I think the Rams will put up a good fight, but either it’ll be a blowout or the 9ers will play like total shyte and get every call in order to get the victory.
Either way, I don’t think we stand much of a chance of actually winning. I just can’t see the NFL ALLOWING the Rams to win.
That’s my cynical take. I’ll take off my cynical hat now. I can’t wear it for too long. It’s like the One Ring…
You hit the nail on the head because that call against Cook was bogus.

I saw a report that Barnes might start instead of Wells. This is based on who is warming up with Davis by a fan at the game.I can see Robinson and Donald.
But 2 line changes? Against SF? With Barnes starting? On this one…if true…they better be right.
Me too!!!
cgsuddeathParticipantYeah but what bothers me the most is how a couple of veterans(Long,Wells) continuously play like first year players

cgsuddeathParticipantTo all the people who keep saying get rid of Bradford,Today’s game marks the proof that if the rest of the team play’s horribly it doesn’t matter who plays at quarterback.

cgsuddeathParticipantI spent time with my family at a Ukranian festival.
cgsuddeathParticipantWell I will say this,Goodell is a creep and a liar that plays favorites. As far as I am concerned the Patriots should have been stripped of those titles. As I watch the NFL channel I can see the clear bias towards NE and Denver.Nothing like this ever happened under Taglibue or Rozelle’s watch and Goodell needs to be fired.
cgsuddeathParticipantThe defense is not a fraud. They are learning a new scheme and it takes time just like it did for NO,Washington and Tennesse.Give them time.
cgsuddeathParticipantNo I would not have.As anyone can see,it didn’t matter what quarterback plays as he would have surely been injured because of no protection.

Lots of angry fans out there Zack.I for one don’t understand why the OL looked out of sync.I’m not a big Saffold fan. He’s been on the Rams as long as Bradford and if you don’t include this year has been injured more than Bradford. Not to mention to see his team loyalty this past offseason given his injury history.
cgsuddeathParticipantI dont agree with this, but its one man’s view

Rams losing Sam Bradford and going with Shaun Hill isn’t significant. Here’s why.I read the article and there are too many facts missing
cgsuddeathParticipantJJ Watt. I would play him at 3-tech in a 4/3.

Yeah? Well. Screw em. They didn’t know what we know.

August 25, 2014 at 12:58 pm in reply to: for those who are arguing Rams shoulda drafted a qb high #5044cgsuddeathParticipantI don’t know if that’s anyone here, but it’s out there, on the net.
#1. Hill is better than any goll-durn rookie.
#2. They used the picks to build a solid team. If it works out that next year they bring in a expectations-setting namebrand rookie, he is better off coming to a solid team.
This whole get your qb and build the team around him thing is wearing on me. It should be the other way around.
That’s regardless what everyone says when it’s draft time.
Somehow I get the impression they’re done with Bradford despite all the sensationalist journalism going on.Roethlisberger went to a solid team. They didn’t need him to spread his wings overnight. Flacco, same. Wilson, same. Kaepernick, same. Foles went to a team that already had probably the best OL in the game. Dalton, same. Rodgers, same.
After years of seeing *what* *happens*, I think it’s the better way.
So personally I don’t care whether or not they have some namebrand rookie. Hill will be better than any of them could be this year, and next year if they add one (which they probably will) that kid, whoever it is, will be better off coming to a team with some receivers, some experience, some maturity, an OL, and a defense.
.
Somehow I get the impression they’re not done with Bradford despite all the sensationalist journalism going on.

That’s if he watched at all and I doubt it.
