    This Wildcard weekend is nothing but a bunch of sequels. 49ers-Seahawks 3, Bengals-Ravens 3, Bills-Dolphins 3, Jaguars-Chargers 2, Vikings-Giants 2 & Bucs-Cowboys 2. With 6 games you’d think at least one would be a fresh match-up.

The veteran players will tell, explain & emphasize to the Rookies that the #wildcardweekend games are indeed very different. But it’ll ONLY be after the game when the rookie will fully understand what just happened and what exactly those DIFFERENCES are!

I’m not used to watching these games on my couch this time of year and have been yelling about officiating. It apparently freaks out my dog, so immediately after screaming β€œYOU IDIOT” etc. I give him a treat and whisper, β€œnot you, you’re perfect.” Unclear what habits are forming.

Going into this game I thought the “Staley will be fired if the Chargers lose” narrative was dumb – but if the Chargers lose after leading 27-0…

Leave it to the Chargers to blow a 27-0 lead in the playoffs after winning the turnover margin +5. Brandon Staley will have A LOT of questions to answer after that one. Defense had a 27 point cushion – 10 heading into the fourth quarter.

I don’t know how it’s possible to lose a 27-point lead when you are +5 in TOs. The Chargers, man. What a frustrating wreck that team is for its fans. They are the AFC version of the Cowboys. Loads of talent, and just can’t get it together.

The 9ers have been scaring me for a long time, and now I’m very, very scared. Defeating the Seahawks was no major accomplishment, but they are rolling out the best defense, they are getting healthy at the right time, and it doesn’t matter whether they have a QB or not. That team has destiny written all over it, and I sure hope somebody figures out a way to make Brock Purdy look like the last pick in the draft, or there is going to be a lot of nauseating celebrating going on in my neighborhood. And they have an unfettered path to the Super Bowl. Nobody in the NFC is going to beat them.

Now, if they get the chance to celebrate the SF Giants in your neck of the woods, I think that’s more than awesome.

    ;>)

    But not the 9ers. Ugh!

They have done a very good job of team-building, are young, and might be smart to trade Lance for more picks. They appear to have struck Warner-like gold with Purdy.

I don’t understand the Chargers, either. They should be waaaay better than they are, etc.

    . . .

The Rams are going to have to ramp up their FO smarts to a whole new level to get back in the race. In my view, it’s not going to happen with a coupla big signings or big trades. They need to upgrade talent in too many areas for that. Rather than go for another superstar or two, find solid, dependable players for first and second team spots instead, and bring in the kinds of coaches that can really teach and keep McVay grounded.

I love how Purdy basically threw a bunch of dump off TDs to wide open RBs in the flat and screens where deebo did everything and people are literally calling him the second coming of Brady !?!? Shit is getting comical at this point I’m sorry

With Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel and George Kittle, the 49ers have arguably the best RB, the best WR and the best TE with the ball after the catch in the NFL. These dudes all can scoot.

What ultimately lives with a guy longer: winning a playoff game in the NFL, or getting fired the next day because you shattered the record for blown XPs in a playoff game?

I don’t know how you can watch what happened in Tampa this year and than watch that tape back from last night and not think β€œWe have to start all over again from the bottom” -zero energy -zero creativity -zero adjustments -look totally unprepared -both sides of the ball

The three teams expected to be in on Tom Brady for 2023 are the Raiders, 49ers and Dolphins.
