I watched Obo all night and they played that boy into the ground…he was exhausted…but still he came on. There were two plays I can think of where Obo forced the QB into another players arms for the sack or forced bad pass. That stuff doesn’t show up on the stats but *can* be just as important as getting a sack.

The Rams’ ILB group also lacks depth. Cory Littleton is a second-year starter, will play alongside Bryce Hager, who has long been on special teams but will full-time starter for first time. They’re joined by Travin Howard, and rookie Troy Reeder. Micah Kiser on IR.

Rams GM Les Snead on Saturday, if there’s been any progress on a contract extension for QB Jared Goff: “Out of respect for Jared and his group, I don’t want to make it public on those things. I do know this, Jared wants to be a Ram for a long time, we want him to be a Ram for a long time and we will continuously try to work to make that happen.

Another takeaway from cut day with the Rams: Special teams coordinator John Fassel is given a HUGE voice in the room as to who fills out the final 4-5 spots on the 53-man roster. If you stand out for him on special teams, you certainly increase your chances of making the cut. (See: LB Troy Reeder, WR Nsimba Webster, OLB Natrez Patrick, S Nick Scott).

The decision to waive DL John Franklin-Myers was the single most surprising move on cut day. Franklin-Myers contributed last season, and through offseason discussions it seemed the organization was looking forward to his development in Year 2. “It’s more of a credit of not what John didn’t do, but what some other players did do,” Sean McVay said. Franklin-Myers had two sacks and a forced fumble last season, and also contributed a sack in the Super Bowl. Several defensive line teammates were optimistic Saturday that Franklin-Myers could return on the practice squad.

One day altered the landscape of the coming season. Seahawks address a major need with a great player. Chiefs bolster one of their only weaknesses on offense. Texans mortgage the future for a chance to stay relevant. Dolphins tank for Tua. What happens next?

“Sean McVay is a genius unless he cuts a player I like”

McVay is a genius and no fan can possibly have the insight he has concerning which players to cut. However, that doesn’t mean he can’t make a mistake.

“ You’re sitting in the press box and you’re going ‘Woah, wait, who is (jersey number) 14? Who’s this (WR) Nsimba (Webster) kid?”
    – GM Les Snead

According to Snead, Webster impressed with both his return and coverage skills on special teams.
That versatility, along with maximizing limited reps, ultimately played a big role in Webster securing a spot on the roster despite the Rams’ depth at wide receiver.

Nsimba Webster is the Willie Mays Hayes of the LA Rams except he did it on a championship team!

The Rams were not awarded any players on waivers, per source.

The #Browns have released left tackle Greg Robinson, but they intend to sign him back, source said. He’s their starter.

This is strictly a procedural move by Cleveland. Robinson is not subject to waivers, he’s going to re-sign and he’ll be with them Week 1.

    Spotrac@spotrac
The release of Greg Robinson initially clears $6.4M of cap space for the #Browns, who will likely sign him back at a slightly smaller salary after Week 1 to avoid a guarantee.

I’m thinking possible that Lawler eventually goes to IR, Kelly to 53. But have to see what recovery time table is on Lawler.

#Rams had 5 players claimed off waiver wire today. Only 4 other teams have had 5+ players claimed off initial waiver in the last 20 years
    2018 CLV: 5
    2013 GB: 5
    2010 GB: 5
    2010 NE: 6
5 claims is tied for the 2nd highest in last 20 years
