When I left New Orleans this morning, folks were still steaming over the non-PI call, as they should be. This will be tough for Saints fans to get over
Charles Robinson@CharlesRobinson
Was it slightly awkward that #Rams players were openly admitting that the refs blew it yesterday and cost the #Saints a crucial call?
Yes.
Did L.A. care?
No.

BOTH can be, and ARE true:
1) Yes. It was PI. They blew it.
2) ALSO missed: obvious facemask on Goff scramble on previous drive. Rams should have had 1st-and-goal on the 1. They take the lead, rather than tie.
Any reasonable conversation should include BOTH.

To me, the proper retort is, the Saints led with 2 min left and didn’t get a stop. They got the ball in OT and turned it over. They had to stop the Rams in OT and didn’t do it. I think that’s a stronger argument than tallying up missed calls.

And they had the ball in the red zone their first two possession and didn’t get in the end zone because of a drop and a bad series. The missed call is papering over a lot of potential second guessing of the Saints.

@Nate13Burleson and SVP are the only ones on TV I’ve seen say the Saints had calls that benefited them. Great point made by Nate.
