The Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl.

Its been 14 days now.  Since Feb 13.

    STILL feels goooood.

Biosphere being murdered.  Resource wars breaking out.

Extinctions snowballing.  Universe apparently looking at Earth, and “running it back.”

    …Still feels good.

    ======

I had my doubts I’d ever see it again.

I’ve been savoring vids of the 3 game stretch — Bucs, 49ers, Bengals.

I just cant imagine any other Super Bowl winner came ‘that’ close to

losing 3 times in a row.   It was uncanny.  Or somethin.  If you watch those games, the tension ‘still’ lingers, they were so razor-close.

Back in the days when Seattle had a top team and was going to superbowls, I remember the times the Rams lost to them, and each time, it was because a Seattle player made a play. Earl Thomas, Russell Wilson, Sherman, Wagoner…it was always somebody. I kept saying in game chats “Seattle just makes plays when they have to against the Rams.”

And that’s exactly what the 2021 Rams became in their final stretch. They just made plays at key turning points. Plays that will actually be immortal as times go along. Like 4th and 1 on their own 30 in the final minutes down by 4 and they give it to Kupp on a jet sweep? 😯 And Kupp is stopped dead to rights but he cuts like a premier RB and gets the yards.

Hey, remember when the Rams blew up the Cardinals on the way to the Super Bowl?

    Yeah, me neither.

In my history of the Rams, they already only played the Bucs, 9ers, and Bengals.

Yeah, I have trouble even watching that Kupp play on the hi-lite vids.

He was dead.  That play was blown up.   It couldnt have worked.

That cut he made (or whatever it was) was not humanly possible.

The late season games in Dec were great too…

    Yeah.

I just didn’t think this team had It. But down the stretch, they started clicking. They got Michel going, OBJ contributed a little more each week. And by halftime of the last game against the 9ers, I started to believe that they had It.

There were good teams in the playoffs, and the bracket had to fall right, but you could see them gelling. They never turned into a Machine. But they had enough of It to see them through.

And winning the Super Bowl – seriously – without Woods, Higbee, OBJ…I don’t think they get enough credit outside of Rams fans for how big that actually was. They won the Super Bowl with a lot of duct tape and Bondo. And the narrative that they “bought” the Super Bowl, or that it was given to them, just couldn’t be more wrong.

You could see them gelling, and straightening some things out,

and Von and OBJ were integrated — So, i thought they could beat anyone

they played in any single given game.

What i did NOT think was they could be consistent and bring their ‘A’ game

over a period of 3 playoff games and 1 super bowl.

And frankly, did they EVER really play their ‘A’ game for

4 whole quarters, all F’ing year?    I dunno.   I guess the Cardinal game

    in the playoffs.

i kept thinking right up to the super bowl that if they could just play their “a” game they’d be unbeatable. they never actually did play their “a” game and they still won.

i do think injuries played a part though.
