Rams kept shooting themselves in the foot.

Then the refs decided to shoot them in the foot too.

It was a foot shoot fiesta.

Steelers win when they get TOs and force mistakes.

So be it, win the next one.

    1. They should have never been in this position.  Steelers had 17 points off of 2 missed field goals and an INT. Maher needs to go.
    2. The officiating at the end was awful.  I always thought contact was required for pass interference, and that was the first first down I have ever seen made where the team did not move the ball forward.
    3. This team should have never left St. Louis.  I have never been a Los Angelino or  St. Louisan, having lived my life mostly in Maine, so I have no dog in the hunt there, but this town is giving this team no home field advantage ever.  Every game is an away game.  It’s flat out awful.

Still tend to struggle in the 2nd half.

Also, close first downs, with the spot, like what happened in the game, should be looked at, at all times, as an automatic booth review. That is a rule we should have, not be under two minutes, to look at it. I hope I said that right.

Rams kicker “unaccounted” for 7 lost points.

the Steelers executed when they had to, the Rams did not….. The Rams got beat in the 2nd half.

    Cowgirls next week….

Half way through the second half I thought I was going to post, “It was an ugly win. “ Turned out to be an even uglier loss. 🙁

Nice to be able to watch a full game, live.

It’s already been mentioned . . . but, are the Rams the only team in the league with a home field disadvantage?

This loss is mostly on Maher, with an incredibly rare assist from Kupp, a player who has come up big for them countless times. As in, they probably don’t get to or win the Super Bowl without him. Kinda shocking, those two drops. They likely score a TD without them.

Liked what I saw from Freeman and Henderson. Have always thought it was a good idea to have at least one back heavier than 220.

Puca is incredible, but he scares me. He won’t quit, he won’t go down, and that’s going to get him into concussion protocol frequently. Regardless, he’s a hidden gem and a half.

Have forgotten the sequencing already, but what happens if Yeast doesn’t try to tip the pass again? Another DB — can’t remember who — was poised to make the interception.

Why no jet sweeps? Tutu seems like the logical guy for that. Sub 4.4 speed, and he’s gaining confidence by the week.

Defense truly needs to get bigger and stronger at the nose and DT opposite Donald.

Frustrating game. Thought they had it in the bag.

    Yeah. So. I dunno.

I like a lot of what I saw. I think the Rams outplayed the Steelers, and they lost due to unforced errors.

Which is what you would expect from a young team. But Kupp dropped as many passes today as he did all of last season combined. And a kick doinked off the upright. And so on.

So, it’s disheartening, but these are the kinds of games that I hope the Rams win in Week 14. This is a young team, it has a lot of promise – a LOT of promise – and I want to see the arrow heading up all year long.

I’ll take this loss. They should have won it. But I will take it. They played well.

But I want them to win this kind of game later.

ZOOEY SAID….””””I’ll take this loss. They should have won it. But I will take it. They played well””””””

that seems to be the theme for all their losses this season…

you’re right, hopefully these gut punch  games go the Ram’s way in Dec…..

disappointed. but yeah. lots of positives. kind of disappointing to have to say that. two missed field goals. unforced errors. and some really bad calls at the end that went against the rams.

but the offense isn’t clicking quite the way i expect it to. it’s not the running game. i think the oline did well today. it’s the passing game. kupp had his worst game in a long time. there was at least one miscommunication between him and stafford that resulted in an intentional grounding call. kupp is still working his way back.

yeah. i’m just hoping the team can keep improving as the season goes on.

Turner was playing nose a large percentage of the time. He was replacing Brown III, who’s on IR.

    from https://theramswire.usatoday.com/2023/10/10/rams-bobby-brown-injury-defensive-line-depth/

At 324 pounds, Bobby Brown III was the only defensive lineman over 300 pounds to start the season and in Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, their starting nose tackle went down with a knee injury. Brown is expected to miss 5-7 weeks with an MCL sprain, leaving the Rams without their space-eating defensive lineman.

3-4 now for the 10th time in the SuperBowl era.

As you will recall, the rams have had losing seasons the previous 9 F’ing times.

Painful lessons on offense, defense and special teams yesterday.   Rams and Steelers and about ten other teams look to be about even.   Lots of close games coming in this here NFL.   Its gonna be a wild winter.   Wouldnt surprise me if a dozen teams were vying for final Wildcard berths in the last week.

It’s hard for me to find any positives in a game the Rams lost that they should have won.

I will say that so far this season they have only lost one game in which the other team clearly seemed better – Eagles.

The 9ers are obviously better but during that game the Rams weren’t outclassed by them.  Had KW caught the ball that he tipped up into the air for an INT the Rams might have won.

Got to hand it to McVay, the asst coaches, and Snead.  They turned over the roster but were still able to field a competitive team.

Cowboys favored by 6 at the moment, i guess

    https://dknetwork.draftkings.com/2023/10/22/23910472/nfl-odds-2023-rams-vs-cowboys-week-8-spread-moneyline-over-under-point-total-opening

“….The Rams have been up-and-down this season, and they’ll bring a 3-4 record into this NFC matchup after falling 24-17 at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7. Los Angeles was outscored 14-0 in the fourth quarter of that game, as the Steelers came back to notch a road victory. Puka Nacua continued his fantastic rookie season with 8 catches for 154 receiving yards in that game, and he’ll continue to be a difference-maker even with Cooper Kupp healthy.

I’m leaning toward the underdog Rams to keep this one close and cover the spread in this game. Los Angeles has been in every game they have played this season, even against top-flight competition. This one should be close, and that makes the Rams a solid pick while getting points.”

Brown also has the frame to carry even more than 324, it appears. But, yeah, they miss him. I think teams need to have diversity of size and skill sets, and complement key players that way. To me, any team with an AD needs hogmollies at the nose and the other side to protect him, etc. And there should at least be big ol’ tree stump backups who can come in on short yardage and goal line situations to stuff the run. Small, quick, penetrating DTs lose most of their advantages when things are tight.

That would be my philosophy across the board, too. Running backs, big, small, fast, powerful, inside, outside, etc. Defensive backs to handle the speedsters/quicksters, and the monsters. Cuz, it’s pretty rare that you find players who can do it all. Offensive line, same thing. Everywhere, on both sides of the ball.

In general, I think the Rams lack that kind of diversity, and stick with their “types” instead. Exceptions, of course. I also wish they could bring in a seriously good running QB for goal line and short yardage too. Wanted the Rams to draft Dorian Thompson-Robinson for that option, and more . . . .

    Just my two cents, etc.

Needless to say, I regard this game as a Must Win, since two of my idiot brothers are Cowboys fans.

I said it was hard to find a positive, not impossible.
