    Personally, I actually have no idea. I hear arguments on both sides, but I think we don’t know enough to judge.

    One hire (2012) tells you nothing, really. So they have no track record to judge.

    There are a lot of qualified coaches out there. So, in that sense, he can’t get it wrong. But, can he find a coach to lead the Rams to the Promised Land? That might be really hard. I would rather look for the best GM. I sort of like Snead, but maybe there is a better guy out there?

    I have no faith in the Rams front office.

    The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

    I put those types in 2 tiers.

    1. They’re always in it. If not this year wait till next. I count guys like Bellichick for that and there’s probably no other one these days.

    2. They CAN be in it, it just has to fall right in a given year. John Harbaugh, Payton, Kubiak, McCarthy.

    Where to put Tomlin or Carroll? They are a little more “always there” than the 2s I listed. Maybe they are “uber 2s” but not “1s.”
