Good road win against a weak team.

Good teams play like that against
    bad teams.

    5-1. So far, so good.

Stafford seems to have his struggles. There were throws, that I felt that could have been picked off, and this was against the Giants. If we were playing a better team, those would have been INTs

The defense played a lot better today, but then again, it is against the Giants. We should be able to dominate the next two weeks as well.

Wolford sucks. Wish we could have found a team to trade him to, I mean it would have been nice to get a future 7th rounder for him. Then we could have Bryce Perkins as Stafford’s backup.

Sloppy, but decisive, and 5-1 is a good thing.

I didn’t watch the second half after the opening drive.

I spent the first quarter saying “Here we go again! I told you so!” Although I was by myself, so nobody heard me.

Glad the Rams were able to capitalize on the mistakes made by a shaky team. Once the Giants went to their two-minute offense late in the first half it seemed like the Rams defense knew what was coming on nearly every down.

I was supposed to go. Had tickets and everything. Did too much in the yard yesterday, and threw my back out. My wife was actually happy about it; our seats were way up in the upper deck and she has a strong fear of heights. I did watch the game, and the first half had me worried, but then came the second half…

I was happy. We played a bad team and beat the heck out of them. 😉

That’s what you hope to see if your team is a contender and the other team is not.

Minor point, but…why do people like Woolford? This game he had 2 passes, 2 carries, for zero completions, one INT, and a total of -1 yards.

His career passing totals adding last year to this: he’s 22 of 40 passing for 231 yards (5.8 ypa), 2 INTs and 0 TDs, and an avg. qb rating of 42.87.

For me, Wolford is OK. I just like Perkins a lot better.

Yeah, I like Perkins waaay more. Wish they had played him, and pulled Stafford earlier than they did.

It’s already been said how slowly they started, and how worried we fans were in the first quarter. I agree with all of that. To me, one of the keys is Stafford starts slowly, in-game, and per season. It’s understandable, in part, given a brand new team, etc. etc. . . . But I think if Stafford picks it up, the Rams will follow.

Or? We may just have to get used to an erratic QB, and an erratic team. That’s kinda what I’m seeing so far anyway. Stafford can look like an elite QB on one play, and a backup on another. Obviously, he’s mostly the former, not the latter. But it may well be the thing keeping him from universally being considered a Top Five guy. He lacks . . . consistency.

Henderson has stepped up. Always liked his game, and I actually wondered why they drafted Akers. Now, of course, I’m glad they did. But I thought Henderson would have been fine as lead back. Like what Michel has done so far. Good pickup.

I’m still gobsmacked about the Tutu Atwell pick. Noting against him. He’s a tough, try-hard, special athlete. But it’s just a dumb pick at that point in the draft, and the more games the Rams play, the worse it seems.

On defense. Very happy with overall play, and it seems like they’ve picked up the pace markedly too. Donald is on fire, etc. If healthy, Terrell Lewis is a game-changer, and may make it possible for them to trade Floyd for picks in the offseason, if the Rams could find some takers. Hollins and Lewis on the outside is a strong combo. Obo seems to be finally coming on too.

Obviously a great game by Rapp. With his average speed, if he can stay in the box, and more athletic DBs can cover deep, he’s good. But I still think they miss Johnson. Much better athlete, etc.

Most of the game was a joy to watch.

One thing about this game that could have real ramifications going forward is that Noteboom played 19 snaps at LOT. This is when they had a commanding lead obviously but still, to my admittedly less than focused eye he seemed to have played pretty well. The knock last year was his run blocking and he seemed to be coming through in that dept.

If both he and Allen deliver, than the Rams will benefit. Next year they will probably lose Whitworth and at the same time Allen, Noteboom, and Corbett are all FAs. Signing guys they already have is far less of a problem then finding guys they don’t have, and that’s especially the case at LOT, a position that is notoriously hard to replace (good LOTs are seldom found after round 1 and just as rarely show up in free agency).

So if they have their future center and LOT already on the roster, that’s huge.

I think people liked Woolford cuz they didnt like Goff.

Now that the Rams have Stafford, I think
the Woolfordites will change their tunes.

Did Jalen Ramsey even get targeted in that game?

the biggest positive i can take from this game.

that the overall feeling i get is. especially from mcvay. is that they were not impressed with themselves. and they shouldn’t be. they did not play very well. especially the offense.

is it just lip service? i don’t think so. but we’ll see. we’ll see if they rollover against a very poor lions team or if they show more urgency. start out sharper than they did against the giants. cuz the cardinals look like a championship caliber team. the rams look playoff caliber but nothing more.

Woolford sucks. If Allen and Noteboom are both FA … aren’t we fucked?

Not if they can pay both of them. That’s assuming Noteboom is an actual solid franchise LOT.

    Game 6

    in person Giants beat down

Been waiting for a time to see them live when it would be a good game for years now … Saw them twice in the end of the Fisher era (Jets, Ravens) and the games were so bad that I basically forgot what live football looked like.

Also highest amount of Rams fans I’ve seen at a game … probably almost 50/50. At least where I was up top. And it was a gorgeous day.

The loss of Kadarius Toney changed the game rhythm … there’s just not an explosive player on their offense. And Danny Dimes was really inaccurate. Actually was surprised by his lack of accuracy. He was wayy off on some easy throws.

I left after the Henderson wheel TD … but i was satisfied because I had one of the best gyros of my life. Seriously the place was rated “best at the stadium” but I didn’t think it would rate along with the best I’ve ever had.

This list will include some “really enjoyed seeing it in person” moments because I was calling plays as I could se the whole field.

    The Great

    1) Obo’s strip sack. In real time watching his get off and bend was epic.

    2) Donald’s blowing up of a Booker run play … he was on the other side of the LOS so fast it was like a blur.

    3) Terell Lewis and Floyd with sacks along with Obo and Donald. That’s the production I want from the position.

    4) Rapp being Johnny on the spot … good to see him making the most of his reps.

    5) How many 4 TD games will Stafford have this year? My guess is 5.

    6) No TDs given up.

    7) Cooper freaking Kupp. Finally he’ll get the pro bowl nod he deserves.

    The Good

    8) Hekker back to his old self for this game at least, and the fake punt to Skowronek …

    9) Fuller on his run fills … that was impressive.

    10) Rochell being able to be up to speed at the NFL level year one bodes well for how much value we’re going to get for that pick.

    11) The running game was something I could see a lot better … and I’m not good enough at line technique to se what nuances Carberry is putting in … but both backs have multiple lanes to choose from on most running plays and our short yardage/goalline runs seem to get push where they need it. If you had told me we’d be able to run inside the 5 on Lawrence and Williams I would not have believed it.

    12) Henderson looks more confident. His running isn’t as jagged and he gets to full speed faster … it seems like he didn’t trust the plays to develop earlier in the year so he would stall on hitting the Jets.

    13) I’m happy for Kenny Young that he developed into the player I imagined he would, sad that we won’t keep him, and happy for the likely 5th round draft pick we’ll get for him.

    14) Oh and Skowronek on special teams is something to watch live … those battles are intense and he’s always around the ball.

    15) Dontay Deayon (sp?) stepped right in.

The Bad …. in a game like this these are nit picky

    16) Stafford’s placement on the pass to Higbee on the 5.

    17) Stafford taking some sacks.

    18) Why is Cooper Kupp, during his record pace season … returning freaking punts?

    19) For that matter why is Tutu Atwell not part of first team offense ever?

    20) Why is Desean on the field in this game?

    21) Mundt injury? How bad? He’s the unheralded man and that loss will be noticeable. Is harris ready to fill? Because we use him on ST he’s the best option yeah? Even if he’s only 225?

    22) Again, D Henderson gets tired after 4 runs. He needs to be subbed every long drive. Tired leads to lazy cuts … and that leads to dings …

    The Ugly

    23) I kept Tee Higgins over Kupp in my keeper league and didn’t draft him in any of the non keeper leagues. I deserve this.
