    Daniel Hardy DE, MTST

    Height: 6-3, Weight: 223
Burst and outside speed rusher with NFL caliber length. Doesn’t have pass-rush plans. This is a traits-based selection because he tested through the roof at his pro day.

After reading about Daniel Hardy, I think it’s fair to say that he’s this years Jacob Harris. The player with all of the athletic traits that people seem to gravitate towards and root for.

OLB Daniel Hardy, the Rams’ pick at No. 235, says he promised his father before his passing that he’d take care of his family. Did his media call surrounded by family and his DL coach. Of that promise he says, “The work is not done yet. It’s just getting started.”

Daniel Hardy is a fascinating pick, very curious to see how he develops at the next level. He’s undersized but has insane athletic testing numbers:

Daniel Hardy: Montana State converted LB to DE. Only one year as an EDGE. Extremely productive. 6’2 237 lbs. nearly 34 in. arms and 10 in. hands. 77 tackles, 16.5 sacks, 81 pressures (that is phenomenal). Relentless defender. Willing to play ST

Good first step. Elite athlete. Good agility. Able to flatten at the top of the arc really well. Uses his length well to keep his chest clean. Has a nice dip and rip and flashes a swim and spin moves. Able to convert speed to power and redirect to an inside counter.

Has nice closing speed and is able to chase down the ball from the backside. Played with hand in dirt and didn’t see any reps in coverage so I have no eval there. Really wants to get better and succeed. Was a big part of switching positions late in career. Needs to add strength.

Another late round traits specific EDGE like Chris Garrett last year. Excited to see what playing with AD and Floyd and developing for a year can do for him. In an interview his goals were to make the NFL and provide for his family and to uphold the tradition of good rushers

At Montana State. On film he is explosive, relentless, active. Keeps a low pad level. I’d like to see him utilize a long arm stab and counters. Overall a lot of potential to develop at low cost.

Rams drafted him knowing tons of teams were going to be on him as a UDFA
